Records well. Needed some recordings off of radio and videos. Play, pause and hold buttons are self explanatory, Never used a digital recorder before, so was not sure how to transfer to a computer file. There is a USB that slides out from the recorder for direct input to the computer USB port. Once inserted, shows up as IC recorder. After clicking on that, there were several choices (?). I picked REC and once clicked on, the folder with the recording is there for download. Maybe all self explanatory to someone versed in this, but I really am not knowledgeable with computers. That is why an 'average ' for ease of use. It may be 'good or excellent' if you already know how to use it.

This recorder is easy to use, small and discreet to carry everywhere. Perfect for me and my lifestyle. I don’t miss any important conversation or conference since I bought it. I recommend it with close eyes.

I recently bought 4 of these. I record speakers at conventions and I got these for back ups to the more expensive recorders I regularly use. The quality is shockingly good and often indistinguishable or better than the more expensive pro recorders we regularly use. They have an excellent battery life and are a great size for working with little podium space. The mics are excellent. They are extremely simple to operate as well. Even my most technologically challenged cohorts can figure them out. I work with a lot of different recording outfits and most of them have gone out and purchased some of these since I shared my experience with them. Some of them weren’t using back up recorders and I told them, these are cheap enough, it’s a no brainer. The price recently increased due to tariffs but I still purchased another 4. These have never let me down.

Use this all the time as a speech and language pathologist. Perfect for language samples. I love the usb component so that I can plug it into my lap top then save the recordings to my google drive. . Didn’t break my bank and works awesome.

I like the recorder it is compact in size and it is fairly easy to use.

Great playback, no static and easy to use. Wish the screen was lit so I could see it in the dark.

I would definitely recommend this recorder for anyone attending college. I record all my hard lectures so I can listen to them at home. All recordings have great quality without any extra background noise and it's very easy to use. Plus it's also very convenient because you don't even need a cord to connect it to your computer, it comes with USB plug in. I love it!

Works with ease without complicated maneuvers and fast. The flashing light when recording helps immensely. The form factor is perfect with easy grasp and operation with one hand, which is necessitated often with my usage. The sound is loud enough and crisp. The ability to delete recordings is much easier than other recorders i have possessed. All in all, an excellent recorder.

This is a great recorder for beginners ! Had to retire my old audio cassette recorder, for my notes taking . My old cassette recorder, died, after 20 years of wonderful service. Its was a Sony. Then I was strongly advised to try this digital recorder, and it's just marvelous ! You CAN"T GO WRONG WITH SONY PRODUCTS ! I just LOVE this recorder ! The only problem I have with it, I still have great difficulty, transferring my digital recordings, to another media. Hopefully, someone will be able to help me. There is still something I must be missing, when I follow the instructions.

It's a Sony product made in Japan, so it's compact, of good quality, and very easy to use.

Great voice recorder. The control display is laid out nicely, without being too small or complicated. The playback of recordings is very clear and doesn't sound distant. Some previous recorders that I used for recording class and piano practice sounded as if the recorder was in another room. Quite distant sounding. This recorder is small enough to place on my desk without being in the way or cumbersome. It seems to be well made and og good quality. Thanks........JL

This is my first experience with a digital recorder, and I have been very impressed. The operation is simple, the recordings are better than any other medium I have used, and the transfers of the recordings to my computer files is incredibly easy. The device is surprisingly small and lightweight, but well built.

I love this little recorder. It is easy to use and fits right in your pocket. It has great sound and I am able to save the recording to my computer. I definitely recommend this recorder.

Bought it to record meeting minutes. So far works well. Pros: Recorded sound quality is good and picks up most conversations from audience members. I also like the USB retractable port - don't have to search for a cord & makes it easy to plug in & quickly download the meeting. Cons: Probably just user error but wish the fast forward button worked better. When trying to fast forward thru the recording sometimes it resets to the beginning too easily.

Very easy to use and set up. Great for recording important information during meetings so you can pay attention instead of spending your time trying to take notes. You can save the recordings on the recorder and also transfer to a computer. I highly recommend.

My purchasing of this item has been very helpful and the ability to record something off the voicemail on my phone. Very easy to use, an I should have done this much sooner however, i had not checked into it before the purchase time. I'm so grateful for the help that I get when I go to Best Buy as i'm already a yearly member as I refresh it each year and they help getting information about this item. I purchased it came from the Geek Squad. But this recorder, being handheld and very easy to use, has been amazing. Especially when family came from out of town. Recently, and all I had to do was just turn it on, and each one of us was recorded on the recorder. Living, give me something to listen to for as long as I want. Thank you for having such great recorder and this particular gave me so much help with just what I needed and very easy to use. And the price was fantastic. It was an excellent choice, and I told others in the family and friends about it. And showed it to the ones that were close by, and told them where I got it so they can do the same and purchase the same handheld recorder. Thank you so much!

The audio is pretty good, and the recorder is user friendly. It's easy to setup, and transfer recordings.

This voice recorder is awesome. It is compact, easily used and can be used to record anything you choose. Record your grocery list, dogs barking, an argument, minutes of a work meeting. Use your imagination and enjoy. Record music for a flight. JUST use it!
