Bought this after returning the sony 50mm nad reading reviews here. Was not dissapointed. From the moment I put it on my a6000, the photos came out sharp and beautiful from edge to edge. And quick autofocus is a plus. If you dont mind the price, the lense is a keeper.

What can I say! This Carl Zeiss lend has been incredible to use! Superb quality and product. And using it on my Sony AR7IV has been a very satisfying experience all the way around.

This is a great prime that has an incredibly small form factor while still being plenty fast. It's incredibly sharp across the frame and perfectly pairs with the small form factor of my A7R II. My other prime in this relative focal length, a Sigma 50mm ART, is much larger and heavier, although the Sigma does have a closer focusing distance. That is the only downside I have found with this lens, that you have to be backed off from your subject moreso than I have to be with the Sigma. Even so, the compactness of this lens makes this a relatively small issue for me.

Of all the Sony lenses I've tried..including GM lenses this one is one of the sharpest without a doubt! Highly recommended.

This is the legendary Zeiss 55mm F/1.8 that critics say is the best 50mm Prime for the money. You won't find a sharper 50-55mm prime lens for under $1000 with a F/1.8. This is one of the main reasons to switch to Sony's mirrorless system.

I wanted to buy the 55mm f1.8 Zeiss lens since I bought my Sony a7 a couple of years ago. The price was right, and so I bought it. I use it primarily for taking photos of my grandchildren . It takes nice sharp photos. I'm very pleased with it.

I opted to go with this lens as the first to use with the Sony A7Rii. I have had great ease in using it. Not to mention its high quality and super sharp results. Great piece of lens.

I love how sharp my shots are every time I review my pics. My clients love them as well, and it is highly recommended to use this for portraittures and even getting that fine detail without being a macro lens.

This is the perfect lens that I needed to complete my Sony a7sII camera. The images are sharp and the structure is nice and light. I always have it on my camera in my camera bag.

Just got the A7r3 and gotta say this is ridiculously sharp. I also use the 35mm crop on it and works well I don’t even need to rush to get other lenses for portrait photography

This is a great lens for portraits, and I'm not sure you would find anything better. My first use was traveling for 3 weeks, and it worked amazing for portraits, video, and even as a prime lens.

After I got over the initial sticker shock I soon realized why it costs what it does. To put t simply, this is an aazing llens.

This is the sharpest most consistent lens I have found for Sony E mount cameras. I am amazed at the fine details when shooting any type of photos, especially portraits. I highly recommend this lens.

Truly a great lens, there hasn't been anything that I don't love about this lens. The pictures come out bright and vivid and the portraits really stand out, as if you can pluck out the subject.

Incredible lens. I went back and forth with this lens and the 50mm 1.8. I got it open box plus on sale so I went for it. Now it has ruined all my other lens because it never comes off the camera

Sharp Fast and simply amazing. After buying my a7s had to think long and hard about making a big purchase again. Let me tell you worth every dollar. Didn't think I would be this amazed with a lens . Haha

I originally returned the lens because it was too large to use for street photography. However, after trying some other options I couldn't find anything this sharp and had to buy it again.
