These were a gift for my husband. I've been on the phone with him while he's used these and the sound quality is horrible. He sounds extremely distant and the noise canceling feature is nonexistent. I could hear everything he was doing and nothing he said.

Liked the bass but terrible for calls

I have a sony over the ear pair of noise cancelling headphones so I figured these would be good too. The bass was good, the noise cancelling feature was so so. However the ambient noise feature is atrocious. It gives the sound of a hot mic you can hear too much playback from sounds. I tested making calls to two different people and absolutely useless. Way too much noise on my end and then my callers couldnt hear me and I had trouble hearing them. For 150$ or even the 100$ sale price is off the mark. I'm returning them same day I bought them. I have the sony headphone app and that helped with music but nothing helped with the call quality. Only good for music alone. For calls I had to resort to using an old pair of samsung earbuds with mic and they were superior for phone calls!!! @@@@@@@@ the samsung ear buds that came with my s6 years ago)I'm really disappointed sony!

Pro: Sound quality is pretty good for music Ambient noise does play through the speaker therefore, Mic is picking up surround environment sound well. Con: Noise Canceling is just a gimmick, can't tell the difference if it is on or off. Using the App Headphone connect can't create custom Equalizers. Phone call quality is poor. The listener hears what I say but they say it sounds as if I got a frog in my throat. When turning my head so see the left or right side of me it puts a strain on ears, as if the cable is not long enough so will have to constantly adjust the earbuds to they don't pop out of ear. Conclusion: For what this device delivers, it is overpriced. You can find other earbuds that cost half the price but deliver the same music quality and better call quality. The mic is bizarre, for ambient sound it works well however for phone calls it is disappointing. I used it over 15 calls and the listeners always complains, they can't hear me or my voice sounds distorted. It doesn't matter if I use Voice over IP or regular phone call. Bottom line the extra features which are virtually non-existing adds to the higher price. You can get the same type of earbuds from Sony without the gimmicks and it is $70 cheaper.

I was really looking forward to the sound quality of these since they advertise as having Extra bass. Sorry, but I find them very average. The noise canceling feature really did nothing for me, I just did not notice any sound improvement. If you like to hear things around you I guess the ambient setting kind of help you hear slightly better. Control are laid out nicely and easy to use. I had trouble getting a real good fit no matter the earbuds I tried. Overall these are pretty average to me, Not my go to pair by any means.

Sony's new SP600N headphones are a total surprise in this line of earbud-based headphones. They are incredibly comfortable in the ear, they are easy to control, they include an active noise cancellation feature, and the sound (especially the bass) is fantastic. It is a little curious that the control feature for this set is located behind the left ear for a change - the control module looked a little oddly designed but I found it to be the easiest layout for control of any wireless headphone set I have ever used - it's sufficiently intuitive so your fingers just seem to know how to operate things - there is no learning curve. The individual earpieces fit very naturally in my ears (and of course there are different sized interchangeable tips for people with different sized ears) - and even though they didn't feel intrusive or unnatural, neither did they ever feel like there were threatening to fall out during exercise. The active noise cancellation features works OK but don't expect the performance to rival that of over-the-ear headphones (whose padding goes a long way to isolate you from environmental disturbances). But ultimately, I think it's the sound that separates these headphones from others of similar design - music sounds full and clear and natural - the bass response was pretty surprising. In general, it's just hard to find satisfying bluetooth earbuds that approximate the sound you can get with some better quality wired earbuds - but I think these are doing a fine job.

Sony SP600N Wireless Noise Cancelling earbuds are decent earbuds, but have a few issues. They would be great to use while at the gym, lifting weights or walking on a treadmill. The issues occurred when they were used for running. First of all, the control box attached to the wire is very heavy. When running, the weight of it often tugged at the ear bud and was uncomfortable. It caused the wire to be uneven and shift. Also, while running the noise cancelling feature was okay, but since the ear buds had to be pushed deep into the ear to prevent slipping out, it caused an echo of the footsteps in the ear. Overall, an ok set of earbuds for working out just I would avoid using them for long distance running.

One of the best high quality sports headphones. Sony got these right, the rubberized design really stays on your ear like glue even when sweating. It has been a great one for workout. Awesome sound clarity with good bass effect. I tried this with several different genres of music and they are all perfect sounding. Bass is balanced and treble is just enough. You can take calls on this and it is easy to answer the call and hang up. Microphone is very sensitive and the person on the other end could hear me loud and clear. However, the only missing part is custom equalizer component which is usually available in all Sony headphones. I always set my own equalizer. The app does not have this feature. Battery life is pretty good. On full charge, it stayed for up to 5 hours on use. I would recommend these to any one of my friends as they are worth every penny I spent.

The key to good noise canceling in an in-ear bud is to get the "in-ear" part to stay, well...in your ear. I found that these Sony SP600N buds stay in better than most in-ear buds I have owned in the past. Plus, the cord is relatively lightweight (compared to other bluetooth in-ears) which goes a long way to preventing tugging when moving your head. There are multiple in-ear tips to choose from. I have found the medium in one ear and one step smaller for the other ear works best for me. They stay in quite nicely and noise cancel well in dry conditions. The earbuds still stay in when sweating but the slightest break in the "seal" between your ear and the bud kind of cancels out the noise canceling feature. Wear these around the office or on a train or in the house and you will be happy with the noise canceling. Wear them at the gym and you might not get the same effect if your ears sweat. Battery life is good, volume is good, and audio quality is great. Very pleased with the overall audio balance and depth once the EQ is tweaked. Use the app to see remaining battery life, set the EQ, control the music player, or adjust the noise canceling settings. @@@@@@@@ The app is not required to use the headphones--and there is a QR code to help you locate the app. @@@@@@@ The phone quality is very good and people said I sounded just fine when talking. I did struggle getting used to the feel of the controls on the earbuds--occasionally skipping or pausing instead of voluming. All-in-all, these are some pretty good in-ear buds with good noise canceling features if you can keep a good "in-ear seal."

These are great sounding, comfortable earphones. But noise cancelling is just not very good. I tried these earphones in several different environments, with several different types of listening. Music has a deep rich sound with no tinny mid range or treble, and podcasts sound terrific. The issue with these earphones are the noise cancelling feature. I've use other noise cancelling earphones in the past, where the noise cancelling was fantastic. The noise cancelling in these earphones just do not work well at all. The ambient feature on these earphones work very well, when activated, you get an immediate amplification of surrounding ambient noises. These earphones are very comfortable, I can wear them all day long with no soreness at all. Battery life is very good as well, I can get 8 hours of listening time easily. The Bluetooth on these earphones is very stable and has a surprisingly long range. I can set my phone in one room amd move throughout my house with no dropping out. As a test I left my phone inside the house and walked outside, I was able to walk all the way around my house with no dropping out, very impressive. Because of the poor noise cancelling feature, I cannot recommend these earphones.

Review for Sony - SP600N Sports Wireless Noise Canceling In-Ear Headphones - White These earbuds sound great, but I think the best thing about them is their reliable connection to Bluetooth. I've tried so many Bluetooth wireless headsets and the running theme is they only maintain a good audio connection if you hold your phone in the right place. Not these buds. Rock solid connection! The bass is very good and the battery life is impressive. My first reaction to the one-button control for play/pause and forward/back was suspicion, but I've to say upon use, I like it better than a headset with too many buttons. Play/pause is a single click, forward one song is a double click, and back is a triple click. Since song navigation is easy on your phone (or watch, if you're lucky), simplifying the controls for the most common features is a great idea. In the same way. the noise cancelling features rotates through noise cancelling, ambient sound, and off with each state clearly spoken in your ear. To be honest, as with most earbuds I've tried, the noise cancelling is not very effective. If you're buying these buds for that feature, stick to over-the ear type headphones. If I could change one thing, it would be to move the controls about an inch down the wire from it's current position. While not as heavy as some controls, I found the unit pulls on your left ear too much because of the short distance between your ear and the controls plus the overall weight of the controls. OK, maybe two things: I'd add a small clip to attach the cord to your collar; I've found these to be very useful during a workout.

I got these on a replacement plan because my previous Razer Hammerhead BTs broke. I was excited at first to use Sony and then was disappointed later when I used them. Returned them a day later and the reasons are listed below. I used to DJ so I have a lot of experience with headphones sound quality and features so please use this review to your advantage. Pros- Decent sound & good bass and seemed to have a long range connectivity wise. Cons- Noise cancelling feature and ambient noise is garbage. You hear echo and background noise is amplified on every phone call making it annoying to talk on the phone. I tried cycling through all the settings and its still horrible doesn't even make sense why they do that but terrible for phone use. @@@@@@@@ Granted my work environment is loud) this makes it even worse to try and talk hearing yourself and everything around you amplified even when in off position. Even when you are not listening to music or on a call and they sit in your ear you can hear a low echo or hiss at all times. - No track >> / << or skip option. I mean its headphones for music so the fact that you cant change or cycle through music is stupid IMO especially from a company that's known for music. TERRIBLE even $10 ones can do that. - The cord is left side heavy with controls so you feel the cord tighten on your neck as it always seems to drag to the left side riding up the right side of your neck always having to adjust them adjusting them. After having previous wired Sony headphones in the past and coming back to Sony years later for wireless I must say that I will never buy another Sony Headphone product. I was skeptical on getting these cause even older pairs were always just ok. Very disappointed. I will go without headphones for a few days until they restock the Razer Hammerhead BT. Hands down best headphones for music and functionality, comfort and overall features and attention to detail.

The Sony SP600N Sports Wireless headphones are a solid headset that sounds great and looks great too. Fit: They fit snug in my ears and they don't feel like they want to fall out. Sony includes 4 different size ear gels and two sets of ear 'holders' that go into the crevice above your ear canal to help secure the devices. I had to play around with the different combinations until I found the right solution for me. Sound: They sound really good once you find your perfect fit. The extra bass is awesome and the treble is clear and I am very happy with the way they sound. Battery: Enough to last through just about any workout for sure and possibly a few. I only had to charge mine back up after about a 5 hour session of constant use and I am happy with that. I did have Noise Cancelling off with that time. They seem to charge back to full in just over and hour and 15 minutes. App: The Sony connect app is pretty good. It's the same app that you use for the new line of portable BT speakers that Sony has out now. You can fine tune a lot of settings in there and check battery level, Ambience, and Noise cancelling options and of course and EQ function. Device Buttons: Each ear bud only has one button that will do different functions. The left ear bud button toggles between Noise Cancellation/ Ambience sound/ OFF. The Right will Play/Pause, answer phone/ activate your phone's digital assistant, also, a double press will of the right button will skip forward and a triple press will skip back. Not the best use of the buttons IMO, I wish they would have just added more buttons. Cons: I was not able to find a way to use the ear buds to adjust the volume and skipping back and forward is not great. . I had trouble getting google assistant to do that for me using the Right ear bud button. That is my biggest gripe with these though. Also, NC didn't seem to have that much effect that I could tell. Verdict: They are pretty good for wireless headphones, they don't have the greatest battery life, but are good enough for most people. Sound is awesome and call quality is really good as well with the HD feature. NC feature is more of a gimmick on these than anything and ambient sound needs a little work also.

The Sony SP600N Sports Wireless Noise Canceling In-Ear Headphones are stylishly designed and come nicely packaged. They have two size of ear hooks (they hook on the inside of your ear, not outside) and four sizes of silicone tips so you should be able to find a good fit for almost any ear. I like that these headphones don't have an excess of cord. It's just enough to drape around your neck and go up to your ears. I have other headphones where there's some sagging of the cords on the front side and that can get in the way. One thing that would be nice is some sort of clip to clip part of the wire to your shirt or necklace just for added security. As soon as you turn the power on, they'll pair up quickly and easily with your phone. As with most Sony products, these headphones produce a nice quality sound. With the Extra Bass feature, they also pack a nice punch with bass. They also have good mids and high range sounds so your workout jam will be clear and crisp. What's really key is that you get the right fit with the silicone tips so that the sound is all sealed in. Unfortunately, I felt that the noise cancelling was pretty unremarkable. I have a pair of Sony's 1000XM2 headphones and they truly cancel the outside world. I realize these headphones serve a very different purpose, but I could barely tell that NC was activated. Ambient Noise does a good job of amplifying surrounding noise to allow you to remain aware of your surroundings. Battery time is rated at approximately 6 hours. I was able to confirm this over multiple days of use at varying levels. Quick recharge within an hour provides easy use and reuse. Overall, I think these are a good pair of sport headphones (sweat and'splash' resistant. I always judge headphones based on their main purpose which is sound. I think these have really good sound for the size. As far as noise cancelling, not so much. I really found that feature to be pretty much useless but then again, I don't consider noise cancelling to be an important feature for sport headphones. They have a good design and mostly good features. Overall, I think they are a good product. Pros: -Size/Design/Quality -Battery Life -Sound -Price Cons: -Noise Cancelling

---SETUP--- The setup for the SP600N headset was simple but does require that you download the free SONY headphones app from your Android or Apple Store. Following the instructions within the app, I was able to pair up my headset immediately. This pair of headphones doesn't come with a fully charged battery, so you will have to charge them out of the box prior to an extended period of use. ---FEATURES--- The key feature of this headset (as it's called on the box) is that it has a noise cancellation mode and an ambient sound mode. The former allows you to reduce most external noise to a certain degree but it doesn't drown it out completely. The latter allows you to mix in external sounds you may need to hear, like people speaking to you and traffic. The headset also touts 6 hours of use on one charge. One feature it lacks compared to other similar products is that there is no clip that can hold onto your shirt from the back neckline. This would have prevented it from falling off without your knowledge when not in use. They did fall off once when I was driving back home and I didn't realize it until I had gotten off and was looking for them. ---PERFORMANCE--- The performance of the noise cancellation is great but if you have tried noise cancellation headphones that fully cover your ear, then it's not to the same degree. What noise cancellation does with this set is it drastically reduces all sounds around you, but you will still hear them in the background if loud enough. At the gym, this is perfect. At a park with traffic, it works moderately ok. The ambient mode purposefully picks up the noise and mixes it in with your audio. I was able to have a conversation with my wife while listening to music exercising around the park. This headset has an IPX4 rating (a scale that goes from IPX 0-8). This means that is is resistant to splashes of water or sweat for at least 5 minutes. Great for exercising but make sure to wipe them when finished. They are not waterproof, so keep that in mind. ---EXPECTATIONS--- The product meets my expectations. If you mess around with the app, you can find a sound that works for you. For example, I listen to mostly podcasts, so there are two settings to take advantage for me, SPEECH or VOCAL. I do listen to Mexican Rock as well as Electro-House, both of which make good use of bass. When you set it to BASS mode within the app, you can hear the extra bass that the box proudly displays. However, for that to work, you need to use the app, as you can't make that change with just the headset itself. ---VALUE--- The price for the headset in terms of value is very competitive for what it can do. ---APPROVAL--- I highly recommend this product for people who will exercise in both the gym or in the outdoors. The headset is best put to use if you have it in one place consistently, but I don't recommend you going about your entire day with them around your neck at the risk of them falling off without you noticing. The left side that houses the controls tends to slide down because of the weight.
