It was difficult to hear people on phone calls and they couldn't understand what I was saying because my voice was muffled. I returned them immediately.

Liked the bass but terrible for calls

I have a sony over the ear pair of noise cancelling headphones so I figured these would be good too. The bass was good, the noise cancelling feature was so so. However the ambient noise feature is atrocious. It gives the sound of a hot mic you can hear too much playback from sounds. I tested making calls to two different people and absolutely useless. Way too much noise on my end and then my callers couldnt hear me and I had trouble hearing them. For 150$ or even the 100$ sale price is off the mark. I'm returning them same day I bought them. I have the sony headphone app and that helped with music but nothing helped with the call quality. Only good for music alone. For calls I had to resort to using an old pair of samsung earbuds with mic and they were superior for phone calls!!! @@@@@@@@ the samsung ear buds that came with my s6 years ago)I'm really disappointed sony!

Poor Call Quality, Ear Buds Uncomfortably Large

The sound quality for music and videos is exceptional, as to be expected from Sony headphones. The call quality is extremely poor, with a lot of static and often times being told by people listening to me that I sounded like I was talking through a tin can. That wasn't even my largest issue with the headphones however since I would primarily be using them for video/music. No, the biggest issue I had was how UNCOMFORTABLE they are. Even the smallest provided ear buds were far too large for my ears, barely even fitting enough to stay secure and extremely painful to wear for more than a few moments. I know I normally have issues with sizing on ear buds and always have to go with the smallest but these were nowhere near the right fit, which is just absurd. I don't have abnormally small ears or anything. All in all, they were completely unusable for me so I returned them after two days.

For the price that it was it fell short. Sound when listening music was great. Where it failed was phone calls, everyone I called could not hear me and would hear partially and a lot of static.

The sound of music is ok, but what I really don't like is the static people hear when they call me. Also barely here them. My 20$ jbl headphones work better then this ones

Pro: Sound quality is pretty good for music Ambient noise does play through the speaker therefore, Mic is picking up surround environment sound well. Con: Noise Canceling is just a gimmick, can't tell the difference if it is on or off. Using the App Headphone connect can't create custom Equalizers. Phone call quality is poor. The listener hears what I say but they say it sounds as if I got a frog in my throat. When turning my head so see the left or right side of me it puts a strain on ears, as if the cable is not long enough so will have to constantly adjust the earbuds to they don't pop out of ear. Conclusion: For what this device delivers, it is overpriced. You can find other earbuds that cost half the price but deliver the same music quality and better call quality. The mic is bizarre, for ambient sound it works well however for phone calls it is disappointing. I used it over 15 calls and the listeners always complains, they can't hear me or my voice sounds distorted. It doesn't matter if I use Voice over IP or regular phone call. Bottom line the extra features which are virtually non-existing adds to the higher price. You can get the same type of earbuds from Sony without the gimmicks and it is $70 cheaper.

I must say the headset fit perfectly and stayed in place in my ears. The volume wasn't that high. I'm using it on a Galaxy Note 8. Also doing phone calls I got a lot of background noise making it almost impossible for the caller on the phone to hear me. Music was okay as I said it wasn't loud and Bassed up. But the sound quality was okay. I really wish they would have Incorporated noise cancelling along with the ambient sound function. To summarize not the best headset that I've ever used but it's okay if you're not a person that likes the music loud and if you're not making phone calls during your workout.

These are excellent Bluetooth headphones for music. Comfortable to wear, outstanding battery life, and very good noise cancellation make them a great choice for active use or travel. The music is clear and crisp, and the extra bass boost makes the small buds sound balanced and clean. But there's a problem with calls. While I could hear the caller clearly, everyone I spoke with told me I sounded like I was in a gymnasium. This means I can't really wear them when I might be receiving or making a call. And it's too bad, since for music they're as good as you'll find in this price range. If you want a set of buds that will play clear music while blocking outside noise, with a bonus of picking up a call in a pinch, look no further. If you want something that you can use to make and receive clear calls, the WI-SP500 is a better choice.

Great earbuds overall for all types of music. The only problem I had was taking calls the caller can hear all the environmental noise surrounding you. I hope they can work on that little issue on the following model. Other than that SONY always delivers.

Got these for my wife. There was static and she cut out everytime she made a phone call. We returned them thinking it was just a bad pair. We got another set and had the same problems. Returned them and ended up getting the JBL Everest and have had no problems.

Sounds great, play with the sony-app and get even great sounds. Poor battery time, I charge it full in the morning and evening while returning from work, it will not power on. Doesn't say how much battery left when powering ON. I hear disturbance while taking call, others (the recipient) don't hear any noise and can't find I'm in a headset until I say. Product says 6hrs in one full charge, when reading properly, it says 6hrs with noise cancel off...

These are great headphones for activities and listening to music. If you are using them for occasional use, then they aren't the best. They will slide off your neck if you don't have them in your ear. Also during calls, the person I was speaking to couldn't hear me well. I tried to make adjustments of where it's placed on my neck, but they still were unable to hear me. I think for music during activities these are great, but for calls and daily occasionaly use, I'll stick with my "daily driver."

Great Sound Quality, Terrible Battery Life

Sound quality is really great. I love how there is an app to adjust the sound based on what your listening too. However, that's about it positively. The earbuds themselves don't seem to fit right, the mic is not good when I make calls, and most importantly, the battery life is awful. I can charge the earphones quickly but it lasts pretty much the same amount of time as when I charge them. When I workout or I'm on my lunch break, they always seem to die on me even though I charge them beforehand. I wouldn't recommend these. I'm exchanging them for Bose earphones.

I got these on a replacement plan because my previous Razer Hammerhead BTs broke. I was excited at first to use Sony and then was disappointed later when I used them. Returned them a day later and the reasons are listed below. I used to DJ so I have a lot of experience with headphones sound quality and features so please use this review to your advantage. Pros- Decent sound & good bass and seemed to have a long range connectivity wise. Cons- Noise cancelling feature and ambient noise is garbage. You hear echo and background noise is amplified on every phone call making it annoying to talk on the phone. I tried cycling through all the settings and its still horrible doesn't even make sense why they do that but terrible for phone use. @@@@@@@@ Granted my work environment is loud) this makes it even worse to try and talk hearing yourself and everything around you amplified even when in off position. Even when you are not listening to music or on a call and they sit in your ear you can hear a low echo or hiss at all times. - No track >> / << or skip option. I mean its headphones for music so the fact that you cant change or cycle through music is stupid IMO especially from a company that's known for music. TERRIBLE even $10 ones can do that. - The cord is left side heavy with controls so you feel the cord tighten on your neck as it always seems to drag to the left side riding up the right side of your neck always having to adjust them adjusting them. After having previous wired Sony headphones in the past and coming back to Sony years later for wireless I must say that I will never buy another Sony Headphone product. I was skeptical on getting these cause even older pairs were always just ok. Very disappointed. I will go without headphones for a few days until they restock the Razer Hammerhead BT. Hands down best headphones for music and functionality, comfort and overall features and attention to detail.

Let me start by saying you cannot have enough headphones for different things. These headphones excel in my day to day travels as a tech guy, out and about, but also when I'm working from my desk. Why? They are connected with a wire, and can hang around my neck when I'm not using them. But they are always with me and not having to put them in my pocket or whatever. As for sound, they are amazing. Using as a phone headset, they are better than some, not as good as others. They are tinny sounding and the weird part is hearing yourself talk while you are speaking. I didn't like this effect and often returned to using my phone or phone's speaker to speak on calls. The sound is incredible, and the noise cancelling part is very amazing. There is an app that lets you adjust them according to your preferences. I like this because sometimes I'd prefer to adjust for more bass, or more treble depending upon the genre I'm listening to. They last all day on a single charge, and they are on the whole time. I don't turn them off until I get done for the day. Charging is done via the standard micro-usb connection & a charger. A cable is included for charging, but not the charger, pretty much standard these days. These go all the way into the ear canal, and as such you'll filter out the noise around you - if using these while out and about, realize you might not hear a car horn or siren until last minute, so use with caution. Mostly these are my "go to" headphones/earphones because they last all day, they can be hung around my neck, and have decent sound quality. Every speaker and headphone set that are from Sony these days is simply amazing. I can tell that Sony has re-visited what they are providing in the audio world, this is no exception. You'll find that there are a million choices out there today with headphones. Having tried quite a few of these, I'll tell you that Sony headphones are a solid choice. Best Buy has a great return policy and if these don't work for you, you can return them and try something else. If you have really thought it through, you might find this style works for you, maybe for parts of your day. As I said earlier, you can never have enough headphones for different purposes.
