Disappointed ★☆☆☆☆– Major Reliability Issues
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony 5.2 Channel Bluetooth Wireless Surround Sound Home Theater I’ve always trusted Sony products, but this multi-channel Bluetooth system has been a huge letdown—not just once, but three times. We purchased three units of this system over the past year. Two were used in different rooms and locations, both paired with compatible speakers and properly ventilated, following all recommended setup instructions. Despite that, all three units failed prematurely. • One stopped powering on entirely after just a few weeks. • Another lasted a few months before dying with no explanation. • The third gave off a strong electrical smell and appeared to overheat, even with a fan running near it for ventilation. The odor was so concerning that we took safety precautions and discontinued use immediately. Every unit was wired correctly and placed in an open space, and still—these issues happened. What’s most frustrating is that trying to resolve the problem has been incredibly difficult. Attempts to work with customer service led to back-and-forths with no clear support or resolution. It was especially disappointing not to be helped when we tried to escalate the issue. We really wanted to like this product and hoped it would work as expected. But after three failures in two different setups, we can’t recommend it. It looks nice, but the reliability and support simply don’t match the brand’s usual standard.

Pushes everything very nicely without any sort of distortion. Bluetooth feature is really nice as I can be in my kitchen and click on connect from the Bluetooth setting on my phone and it will turn on the receiver. Really easy to use auto calibration as well. Had to make slight changes but was pretty spot on for the distance of the speakers.

Trouble to make sound connections

When I turn on the TV, connect the source to the receiver, the sound disappeared. Somehow it worked for a few times for a day or two, but now cannot hear the speakers when connecting to TV. the sound works when connecting with my phone via blue tooth.

Really nice unit !

Had to order a remote and f. m. Antenna, which I’m still waiting for, but just using the buttons and knobs the options work well. I’ll know more when the remote arrives and I’ll update my review!

Nice receiver upgrade for my older unit!

I have a TV, DVD, and DVD recorder hooked up and it makes for a GREAT entertainment system. Very happy with how it performs along with the iPhone bluetooth feature.
