I was looking for a 4k player to go with my TV. I didn't need all the apps as my TV and Nvidia Shield have all I need.....and then some. I was happy with the price of this player when I came across it. The 4k discs look absolutely stunning!! And I had to make sure it processed HDR which is a big plus. It upscales Blu Ray DVD's beautifully, and does a nice job on SD DVD which was a concern of mine. All in all, I did not go wrong and I'm extremely happy with this unit.

I shopped all models from Panasonic all the way up to the oppo-203 . The Sony x800 mated to my LG c7 oled has produced amazing picture details second to none. It handles my HDR-10 disc and my Dolby vision disc with spectacular accuracy.. I can’t wait till I can get my hands on HDMI 2.1 cables in the spring. I expect to raise the bar even further. I highly recommend this unit.

Great sound, all the capabilities I wanted, easy to hook up - connected via the ARC connection and works great!

This is a great player. It plays 4k blu-rays and 3d movies. It can stream Netflix and it has Wi-Fi. I like it!!

I bought the sony blueray player on the strength of the online reviews. This performs as advertised, it plays all of my 4k ultra dvds,but it has locked up or froze on some regular dvds and blueray. The performance overall has been very good. It doesn’t have the problems that my Samsung 8500 and Oppo 203 had. I think this is a good product at good price.The color and performance are very good, I would buy again.

Bought a new 4k T.V. and wanted to continue watching my Blu-ray dvd's. This Sony up scales to 4k. Great viewing.

Nice! Easy to use. Very clear images and sound. Has lots of specs and compliments any tv with 4k capabilities.

I got a 4k 65 inch from sony 2 years ago and waited for the sony 4k blue ray disk player to come out... Worth every penny...built like a tank...premium sony build quality as usual...not light in weight as the others feel hollow..like a real piece of audio visual equipment should be...picture quality is amazing... Cant recommend this enough...buy it..u wont regret it

I am getting a good picture and acceptable audio out. My setup would have been much easier if the product had an optical audio out on it though. Sony has refused to honor the offer for 2 free HD disks though and that does peeve me to no end. This player is at a good price point right now, but I may have been better off to wait for next year's batch of players. The upconvert for Blu-ray disks of HD (not 4K) quality is very good but the upconvert for DVDs, etc does not seem as easy to watch.

Picture quality is great. Internet connection quick and easy. Programming and navigating menu is very easy.

Simple to use excellent 4k and upscaling from 1080p or 720p,smart features are good but very expensive.I guess it's the price you pay for being and early adapter!

Easy to hook everything to player. It picked up the Sonos sound bar with any problem. Picture is fantastic

My DVD player was over 10 years old, worked well, but could only play DVDs and CDs. I upgraded to this and have enjoyed streaming and other media. Solidly built, easy set up and updating the firmware was a snap. I connected to Ethernet to insure bufferless streaming. Good product.

Bought this on a killer holiday sale for it's ability to play a wide range of disc types, particularly DVD-Audio and SACD. Haven't even played a 4K disc yet but it excels at what I wanted at a way better price than other players with this many disc options. The streaming/app functions are very limited but what it has works fine. If Sony expands its app choices and improves its interface it would have one of the best media devices on the market.

While this 4K player is nice with 4K media, (I chose fast start and it is very fast when playing media) where it really shines is 4K streaming video. I was browsing 4K YouTube videos and Netflix movies and it was amazing how smooth and clear the picture was on my XBR65x900C. Colors are fantastic and no issues streaming 4K at all (while downloading a gig+ sized WinX update to a laptop and gaming online with iPad, although I average 75Mbps down.)

I have a Sony 4K HDR tv and was looking for a 4K player, there are not many choices, so I stuck with Sony. This was a good choice, I didn't have to program remotes or do much more then plug it in and start using it. Also either remote (tv or player) will work to pause, rewind, stop, and so forth. The only drawback is that it has also has all the smart tv apps, which can get a little confusing as to which one is playing, but not that big of issue.
