I ordered a 4K DVD player as a gift for my adult children. I should of looked at the store near me first because I found the same Sony DVD player for the same price, after I ordered it, which was a Black Friday sale so saved $100 on it, which I was excited about. But thankfully, it was free shipping and came within a few days, so it's all good. The DVD player seems to be everything they'd want in one and they are very happy with it.

We set this Sony player up and have watch some Blu-Ray movies and they look amazing, I have a 4k TV but do not have any 4k movies us of yet. (Their on order) so soon I will see the full power of the 4k. I have another Sony player on our main tv and you can often hear it when playing, this one has remained silent which I love.

I've only had time to watch 1 film on this player, but I must say the picture quality was excellent. I also appreciated the extensive settings menus and easy to understand descriptions and explanations in the included manual. I managed to snag this for 1/2 off the price on Black Friday, and at that price this purchase was a no brainer. And the unit is very stylish and sleek with a small footprint. Excellent 1st 4K Blu-ray player.

Purchased as part of an overall upgrade of my home theatre system to 4K. Pro: The 4K picture quality is amazing and it up scales DVD's and Blu-rays to near 4K quality. Great sound as well. I also like that is sturdy and heavy. Con: HDMI cable recommended by Sony NOT included.

My original Blue-Ray began to show serious signs of aging. I did my research on this player and decided it was a good replacement. Once home, it was very easy to install. The streaming picture is phenomenal even tho' my TV is not the newest. The CD and DVD quality is excellent as well. I am very pleased with this choice

The first thing you'll notice is this thing has a very archaic feeling and functioning OS - but it works JUST fine. It's a great, quick and easy to learn player for UHD's, blu-ray's, SACD's, CD's and more. The SDR conversion (if you're playing 4K UHD's on a 1080P tv or a 4K TV that doesn't have HDR) works very solidly and lets you adjust those settings. one thing I'll say, if you have a receiver that handles your audio decoding (so say you have an Onkyo or Denon and are running Dolby Atmos or DTS X etc through that) make sure you click "off" on "BD audio mix settings," as that will allow the player to stream bitstream direct to your receiver. However, you'll need to turn it on if say, you watch a PiP commentary on a film.

Bought this over the other for reviews on upscaling. Good player. Wish it supported Dolby Vision

We watched a 4K DVDs. It is awesome 4K and dreams.

These put out great sound. They even have a bass boost button. It has intuitive voice responses to each control, It can be used corded or wireless via Bluetooth. It connects quickly to my 4K player. Movies sound awesome. It's range in my home is about 30 ft. My only complaint is that the cups that fit over the ears are too small. My ears have to bunch up and become a little sore over time. Hopefully I can get used to it.

I hesitated to buy this one since it was like $279 at some point. This is a good value for the price. It loads the disc quickly, shows bit rates, and nice remote. Drawback: there is no button on the player except power on/off. No dolby vision which I did not think it was worth it at original price but now it does.

This 4K player has been used to play both 4K discs as well as standard blu-rays and the performance is excellent. Load times are fast and the interface is simple. No complaints on the image quality. The player is heavy and well constructed and quiet during operation. The only indicator on the front panel is a green power light, which is perfect for watching in a dark room. I thought it would be odd at first, but now very much like this design. I have not used any of the streaming apps as I use the apps built into my TV. The remote is light, but comfortable. The dual HDMI outs are a nice option to have (one is dedicated for sending HD sound to a non 4K enabled receiver), but I am only using one.

I have Sony everything, so my only gripe is the universal remotes usually control this as well as av receiver and tv. The picture quality is great but dependent upon the media, some movies aren't great examples of the capabilities. I probably could have gotten the Samsung 4k player and would have been just as pleased and saved a little money. The plus is that this came with two free 4k movies, so that is added value.

I reviewed this 4K player online prior to purchase, while not the cheapest price the reviews were very good. I set the player up replacing an older Sony player from a couple of years ago, I did not expect that much of an improvement but was I mistaken. The picture and sound quality are outstanding from this unit.

This is my first Sony 4k UHD player I purchased it was paired to my 2013 Sony 55" 4k UHD XBR T.V. early version. Can't believe the difference in the quality of the picture and sound. I waited 4 years for Sony to offer a 4k UHD player it replaced my 2 year old 4k up scaling model, Extremely happy with my Purchase.

This was a simple hookup and the setup was straight forward. Got it hooked up to my Surround System with no problem. Great Picture and Sound. Can't wait to go back and look at some of my older movies on it.Unit has a solid feel to the construction. Can't go wrong with Sony. Hookup to the internet was simple also.
