I needed to replace my regular Blu Ray DVD player to do justice to the LG OLED I bought last year. After several contemplations I bought the Sony - UBP-X800. Initial reaction was Wow! The first few days I had issues with my player wherein it would freeze and the only remedy was to unplug the device. This happened 2 times. After a software update that problem disappeared hence I did not have to return the player. The quality of the picture is mind blowing. I thoroughly enjoy the Ultra DVD's as well as the superb upscaling it does when streaming Netflix, Youtube, and Amazon. The only slight correction it needs to make is when streaming, the system does not display the volume on the screen. I hope Sony fixes that soon.

I was not really sure if I wanted to buy this product at first because some of the reviews about this product were not favorable. I bought it anyway because I like Sony products. This one is amazing. The pictures are real 4K HDR implementation. The remote and the machine work smoothly. Very nice product indeed.

This is a great all-in-one Blu-ray player! It comes loaded with apps, streaming platforms and capabilities that you'd never thought to use. It also has a SHARP upscaling function which makes my older films look SO much better than they do in a standard player. The built in network function is also A HUGE plus!

Very easy set up and glad we upgraded to the UHD player, can definitely tell the difference!

I bought this to go with my new 55X900E and the upscaling and 4K play back are phenomenal! Super clear, great HDR and the upscaling makes 1080p movies pop! I’m picky when it comes to my blu ray players and this checked all the boxes. Regularly $299.99 and I got it for $149.99 on Black Friday. Can’t beat it!!

Absolutely a great deal. I got this baby for $149 on sale from Best Buy... it’s the best Blu-ray player I have ever owned. Of course it does 4K and 3D but it also does hi-fi sound through a second HDMI out port. One port goes to your audio receiver and one port goes to the TV. Dolby trueHD and DTS are great.

Love the video quality but it froze up once and nothing worked until I was now lugged it.

This blueray player is fast, boots up, fast loads fast amazing pic especially with the UHD blue ray disc. Connects to wifi or lan line. You can add your favorite apps to the home screen. Its def game changer. The packaging does not look all space age but it out performs my other blue ray player easily.

The only thing this is missing for me is Hulu LIve. The rest of it delivers a high quality picture, 4k Netflix, good apps of the major streaming companies. Works great with my Bravia TV and Sony soundbar. I've had some lip sync issues with Netflix that I correct with the A/V sync on the soundbar. 4k Blu-rays look awesome coming from this. I haven't had many players over the years, but this is the best disc player I've seen. My only complaint is that the Bluetooth headphone feature doesn't really work with my Bose Wireless headphones, which I found kind of surprising considering the cost of both. I think this is the best 4k player on the market, so far.

Just as advertised. Easy to use and provides quality pictures in both blue ray and 4K.

Purchased this player for half price. Great combination with our new 4K TV. Easy setup with stunning picture. Even our older dvds look very good with this player. NOTE: the apps for amazon, hulu, and netflix run much faster on this player than all three devices we used to have. 4K netflix is amazing.

This 4K Blu-Ray is an incredible value. Yes it handles streaming services but I have other devices that do that as well. I was looking for a solid, 4K blu-ray player and that is what I got. Don’t need too many other bells and whistles although this Sony has plenty. So far, pleased with my purchase.

I found a real pain to do update that had to be done right away.. although once done. It was like a new player.. fast responsive.. still not sure about 4k yet.. got a couple movies and not overly impressed. Not an issue with player.. Just issue with format.. not as big a deal as you would hope .biggest difference is the sound quality.. so have surround sound and we'll that part.. big improvement..

When I went to the store, other 4K players were available. However, looking at the price for this one compared to the others, I was able to get it on sale for $50 less than the normal price. Additionally, I was able to get 2 free 4K discs through the mail. It works great and I was pleasantly pleased.

the blue ray player works very well. It does not read all formats but does read most of them.my biggest disappointment with this player is the lack of any display on the player, this makes it difficult to see exactly what is going on. You can see some of it on your screen but it would be much better if the player would have a display screen on it. Basically however I am satisfied with the unit

With name like Sony, what more could you ask for. This player is amazing! When the 4K disk is loaded and appears on your 4K TV, you will be blown away by the quality and intensity of the picture. Watching any action film will make you want to view more. Also the 3D is pretty impressive as well.

first blue ray ever I got the best one Sony can offer I am very happy with it I also love the applications that come with it Netflix, Hulu and YouTube I am happy with it everything is current very easy to hook up and enjoy it everyday I love it it’s works great with my iPhone and excellent sound

After purchasing a Bravia 4k 900 , I realized my DVD player was not a 4k player. This one is recommended highly so I added to my Sony products that I have. I delivers great picture quality, speed to loading and no issues for buffering. Has fast processor also but my TV is obviously even faster.

Had been wanting a Blu--ray player for a long time. Read many reviews and did lots of research. Have been very pleased with this Sony - UBP-X800. Best Buy salesman was so kind to instruct me on how to connect it myself and I did it on first attempt. Happy with sales price I got, a great value.
