It might be hard to justify getting a 4K blu-ray player, but once you experience it with the right equipment, you might never want to watch anything else in another format again. I was blown away with the image quality and sound. Really makes your 4K TV shine as well as your sound equipment.

After reading the reviews, I went ahead and purchased this item knowing that I have had luck with Sony products in the past. The first one I got was an open box model that turned out to be defective. I took it back and talking to the customer svc rep who had the same model, I tried it again. This one was brand new out of the box and has worked very well. Glad I gave it another try.

I bought this and it is on fire best Blu-ray ever if you’re deciding to get one at one now or wait for Black Friday SPL best picture no if answer butts get it before they raise the price up again picture is amazing thank you

The player provides excellent picture and sound. Playing through Marantz 7.2 4k receiver and Sony 65 inch 4K TV. Use good cables! 4K DVDs sound and look better than streaming 4K movies and for the price this is an excellent player. It also enhances digital DVDs in a very positive way.

Great affordable 4k player with hdr support. High res audio is amazing with dolby atmos. make sure soundbar/speaker system support atmos to get the atmos effect from the movie you watch. tv must also be 4k/hdr compatible to get the best effect and hdmi cable is high speed at least 2.0.

A pretty good picture. I purchased the Sony UBP-X800 player to upgrade from the Samsung UBD-K8500. While the Samsung has a really good picture quality, the Sony has a slight uptick in sharpness and a more natural color tone. I would have stayed with the Samsung, but I just couldn't stand that remote control anymore. It has one of the worst user friendly controls I've ever seen. Other than that the Samsung was fine. The Sony is much easier to navigate on the remote. I'm also impressed with the sound. I tested a few blu rays. The bass is strong and commanding. I'm satisfied with the Sony UBP-X800.

Great picture, great sound couldn't pick a better 4K ultra Blu-ray player. The best part is the multiple streaming companies that come preinstalled ( Netflix, Amazon video, Hulu, etc.)

Bought this after my Sony 4K TV was feeling lonely and no 4K content :) Happy to say that the 4K on this is incredible. I bought Planet Earth II and that's probably the best example of what 4K can do. This player is great. Menu interface is fast and smooth. Got it on sale for $150.

I bought this player as a present for my husband to go along with his Sony 4K television. I have not seen that man so happy over a blu-ray player. He did thorough research and was certain it was worth it. Well it is and the quality is phenomenal. Definitely a steal for Black Friday!

Solid player, no complains other than unclear if an update was provided for dolby vision capability as it was promised by sony. Great up conversation of blu-rays/DVDs

This unit just feels like solid quality. Its heavy and well built. Connections are solid and simple. Perfmorance is on par. John Wick 2 played as well as my TV could play. The disk loaded quickly. CNet mentioned that was the only con. But I didnt find it to be true. Good purchase.

This is a medium prices 4K blue ray. But the picture quality and ease of use are fantastic. I do not rent 4K blue ray disks because this upscales to 4K quality,

Initially I was looking for a cheap player to get by, until I stopped to look at the features on this product. A total quality product from start to finish- has features I won't be using presently, but I'm thrilled with the product and the explanation from the Best Buy member .

This Sony is very well built. It does play 4k HDR discs, and man does it so well. As an added bonus, it also streams Amazon and Netflix 4k content, which simply looks incredible. Combine this with a Sony 4k tv, and you too will see the future of home entertainment.
