Great 4K player easy to use, reminds me of the ps4 menu. The only reason why I gave it a 4 star is because it will freeze making the screen black for a couple of seconds, it’s still a really good 4K player for the price

With everything switching to 4K, I decided to retire my old blu ray and get a new one. This was on sale for a really good price, so no brainer. The player is fast and easy to use. Nothing to the installation, just plug it with the existing HDMI cable I had and all is well.

Experiencing true 4K with HDR/Dolby Vision is really the best and only way anyone should ever experience 4K content. This blu-ray player handles all the latest 4K specs and is also fast and efficient and presents a cleaner image than game consoles that can also replicate 4K.

Watching 4K movies with this Sony 4K player is even more enjoyable in a media room with a Sony 4K 75inch TV! The pictures are real crisp & clear as if they're just right there. Sound is made even better with Bose speakers. Who needs iPic theater when you can enjoy watching movies at the comfort of your home. Even better we got this player at a discounted price.

PROS: Fast loading, all the popular streaming apps, USB input works really well with my video files, plays 3D Blu-rays. CONS: No 1.5x FF with audio, expensive at regular price, Amazon and Hulu no 4K. *This review is based only after a week of use. First of all, if you already own an Xbox One X (like I have), you probably don't need to buy this. I do like the remote control for the UBP-X800 better than the Xbox brand remote or using just the game controller. Haven't tried 3d Blu-rays on either player yet, but both players supposedly support this format. Because this was a Sony, I was hoping it would have 1.5x FF just like on the Playstation so that I can fast forward with audio during boring parts of a movie. Unfortunately, it doesn't. Amazon and Hulu apps don't have 4K support, yet. Bought this player on sale for $150 which was 50% off. If it was at the regular price of $299.99 I probably wouldn't purchase it. Recommending this for people who don't own an Xbox One X.

I was shopping for blueray players for my Sony TV. I though a sony player will be easy match interms of setup and remotes so i went with sony. It's little costlier than samsung and LG for same specs. I watched few action movies and it was impressive no lag noticed. Best part is i can connect my bluetooth headphone which i was not able to connect to tv earlier.

Great picture. An awesome player EXCEPT it will sometimes lock up in the middle of a movie. Other times I have to unplug it and plug it back in to make the meme show up on the screen. Then it will be an AWESOME player. UHD HDR content looks wonderful.I was going to exchange it as defective but a search online shows me I am not alone. If not for the occasional lockups it would be 5 stars. Also, Sony has said it will NOT be update to handle Dolby Vision which is unfortunate. The newly announced X700 will get Dolby Vision.

Took back the lg 875 4k player as it was barebones and wanted more features, got this on Black Friday at 149.99 and this blows my Xbox player and the lg out of the water. I have an lg oled tv and movies look unreal. So glad I went with this one. Don’t think, just buy!

Excellent quality, easy to use. The features are many for the sophisticated user. Specially combining 4k and dolby atmos. Is really a great experience watching a 4k movie.

I honestly resisted the urge to upgrade to UHD Blu ray for awhile, but I finally gave in and I'm truly glad I did. Picture is absolutely incredible on the 65" Sony 4K that I bought along with it, and for under $200 the price was definitely right. I haven't really tried any apps yet, but I use my Fire TV to stream so I'm really not concerned with them. When I put Black Panther in and watched it in Ultra HD I was blown away, the difference is definitely noticeable. If you're looking to step up I highly recommend the Sony UBP-X800, you won't be disappointed.

We bought a UHD/4K TV so we needed a Blu-ray player to match. This one had good reviews so we actually bought two, one in the family room and one in the bedroom. We have not had any problems with either one.

Great product with a great picture. The only drawback is the size.

I’m still figuring out all the features on this player - but watching Planet Earth in 4K is insane! Bought for Sony 4K tv and they work together perfectly - the players remote controls tv volume which is very convenient. Has all the apps built in. Setup was simple.

This is one of the best Blu Ray players I've ever owned. I love that it has streaming and a great picture. Very easy to set up and use. I highly recommend it to anyone.

Previous to buying this Sony, I'd been using the Xbox One S for UHDs, but it's only a fair player, at best. As Sony pioneered the 4K Blus, it seemed to only make sense to buy theirs. All in all, a much more hitch-free experience than Microsoft's minimum effort.

I bought this 4K bluray player since I also just got my first 4K TV from Best Buy and it was on sale at a pretty good Black Friday price. I got a 4K movie and it was great. I'm only buy Sony bluray players because they are rock solid and I like their interface.

I know what to expect with Sony and they met my expectation. Used with my Sony XBR49800 and it is beautiful. Some overlap of capability, but I really wanted to be able to play Blu-ray content too. Need to figure out how to remove unwanted apps from favorites.

Finally upgraded to a 4K player along with a Oled TV. Essential if you buy a new hdtv. Both upgrades have brought great enjoyment for the whole family. Colors are amazing. I was waiting and concerned that I could not find anything like plasmas of the past.

I really like my sony ubp x800. Plays any disc I put in it. CD'S Sound great . DVD looks great and bluray even better. But last night I watched enders game on bluray by mistake (I own the 4k HDR version) and I loved it . Today I bought a audioquest chocolate hdmi cable. Hooked it up went to test it with enders game. I noticed that I took the wrong disc the night before . So i put the 4k HDR disc in my sony ubp x800 with my new audioquest chocolate hdmi. And the bluray upscale looked much better. I still love it and wouldn't trade it for any other disc player. It may be a setting I don't know
