I received this player as part of a packaged deal when I bought my new Sony OLED tv. The player worked without a problem with my blueray and 4K disks. Had some troubles running the software update at first. Finally updated after a few days of trying. Geek Squad said that the problem could have been a busy Sony server.

The picture is awesome. Options to customize the picture are easy to use. Sacd dvd audio and cd formats sound better than previous uhd player it replaced. Netflix app stopped working after Netflix update. Everything else is exceptional

While physical discs are probably going the way of the dodo, this is great player, with some decent streaming features as well. It does a good job of upscaling DVD and normal BR discs, and HDR10 UHD looks fine, and it can also support streaming in 4K. Bluetooth audio works fine with some Sony cans, could be very handy in quiet/night listening. Nice, heavy case, but the big heavy case may also be a con (it's bigger than the normal PS4), also it doesn't do Dolby Vision.

I have the Samsung 4k player and this new one by Sony, Its a no brainer. This is absolutely the best you can buy. Don't hesitate to get one.

Great video, excellent build quality, plays a lot of disc types (such as DVD-A and SACD), and has the usual assortment of streaming apps (e.g. Netflix, VUDU, etc). One of the few 4K blu-ray players that plays DVD-A and SACD discs also. Remote is also very good. It has the normal assortment of buttons, not one of those stupid minimalist remotes. Highly recommended! Only slight downside is that it does not support Dolby Vision. Not an issue for me though, as my TV does not support Dolby Vision either.

Easy to set up, sensible remote, and good apps....works great. Keep in mind that any apps like Netflix, Amazon, Hulu, etc. that you had on your old DVD player can be accessed on this new player when you input your id and password.

I call this player "The Beast". It's built like a tank and will play just about any type of media you throw at it. Picture and sound are amazing. It loads discs super fast and works great over wifi with tons of apps to choose from.

I’ve been waiting for these players to go on sale so when it did I didn’t hesitate. The player is made of metal and has some weight to it which I like. It’s a good player with quick start up and the picture on my 4K tv looks great.

Player was purchased as an upgrade to go with the new Sony TV we purchased. Beautiful quality even when playing older DVDs. Player is very easy to use. Not a lot of buttons and was easy to connect. Very pleased with this purchase.

I recently purchased an UHD HDR-TV from BB and decided a short time later to upgrade my player to a new 4K unit. I own a 400 Disc Sony ES Blu-Ray changer (it is fantastic!) and so Sony is a brand I am familiar with and trust. This latest player continues that chain of trust unbroken. If you want UHD Blu-Ray, this is the player to buy and enjoy. I NEVER watch TV, only movies are shown on my screen. I also listen to a lot of music but when I want to watch a film, this newest Sony player does justice to whatever I pop into the tray.

Sales person suggested that we upgrade the Blu-Ray player when we purchased new TV. Wanted to have TV and Blu-Ray same, so I got the Sony. It was so easy to sync with TV and it works great. Much faster than my old Blu-Ray player.

The basic setup isn’t difficult but it can be confusing if you dig into the available setup menus. Works well, the picture and sound quality are significantly better than the Blu-ray player I had. Very happy with this purchase.

Picture is great. Netflix is clear and sharp . Surround sound is incredible. A marvel to watch my 4K Blu-rays and streaming is a plus

At the original price I would not have given 5 stars. But for 150, it is 5 stars. Works great with USB files and 4k BR. Pic quality is excellent. Would need to spend 3x to get top of the line pany or oppo 203 for better quality.

It was easy to set up with my Sony 4K set. The blue ray disk loaded much faster in this player than in my former Panasonic blue ray player. So far impressed with its performance. Had to buy new 4K HDMI and digital audio cables.

I bought this to go with the new 65" 4k Tv. I had dvd players but not any 4k players and wanted to experience the best on the Tv. It was fantastic. I bought the Passengers 4k Dvd. It is spectacular and delivered what I expected.

Extremely easy set up and easy to use. No light up display on the unit which makes it nice. I get tired of lights on all my components.

This thing is absolutely awesome when paired up with my HTST5000. Sound seems to have automatically enhanced but that’s probably because I’m upgrading from a PS3. Overall, it loads up quickly and delivers an awesome picture.

The UBP-X800 arrived on my doorstep on the first day of availability. I often want seats in the fron row at a concert but I can never get them. When I preordered the new Sony 4K player, it arrived on opening day. I felt special. It works flawlessly; has great features and picture quality and allows my to stream Netflix and YouTube in 4K onto my Sony 4K television. Hundreds of hours of entertainment without having to buy a 4K movie at a great price. The 4K movies I have purchased offer unparalleled picture quality and sound! A+++

The component is slim so very little space is needed. The picture quality is excellent. What I noticed the most is a considerable improvement in the sound quality when watching a movie. I am very pleased with this purchase.
