I ended up choosing the Sony over an LG, and I'm very happy with my decision. The player powers up and loads quickly, and produces an excellent image on my television. getting it set up and on my home network was easy, and even someone not familiar with the process could follow the on screen instructions. In addition to playing discs, I have used this unit to stream Netflix and VuDu with no problem. I have the player connected to my receiver via HDMI, and I have had no issues with sound. Highly recommend!

I moved from the fist generation Samsung UHD player, which I was very happy with to the Sony and didn't expect to see too much difference. The upscaling is where I think the Sony really shines. HD movies upscaled to 4k look great. UHD movie look clear, sharp and vivid. You can't go wrong with this player. The Sony's construction is much more substantial compared with the Samsung which was mostly plastic.The only thing I wish it had would be analog outputs for stereo sound to my zone 2. The Sammy didn't either though.

With SONY TV no need to move back and forth between remotes for many functions. Ultra HD Guardians of the Galaxy 2 looked amazing on it to us. Our main reason for decision to purchase was because of great help we received from Jamie and another great associate but didn't get his name. Thanks guys!

Solid build, loads fast and has streaming apps built in. Once you get configured right it is a good player. Be sure to connect it to the HLC hdmi port. Mine would play 4k movies in 1080 because the port could not handle the 4K output.

Love it, this is my second UHD player and it blows the competitors out of the water. Great qualify, plays DVDs well and 3d looks amazing as does UHD on my new OLED TV

I purchased this device to replace my Sony Play station 3 I was using to view all my BluRay and DVD movies. I love the engineering design behind it built to block other electrical interference around the media area. I also love that it was designed also to stream internet and hold apps such as Netflix and Hulu etc. It is very smooth opening door and easy to control with remote. Set up was easy. I didn't even have to purchase a 4K HDMI. I did however hook up with gold plated HDMI. and works great!!

The DVD has been reinventedI love the upscaling on this product the 4K and the sound it generates through a receiver is incredible

I have a Sony 4K TV, PlayStation 1-4, a Sony phone, and I bought my parents an amazing Sony Home Theater system. Like all of those products this 4K Blu-Ray player is top of the line. Absolutely love it. High quality!

This 4K player was definitely a good investment for my 4K setup. I recently upgraded my LG Plasma to a LG 4K Tv and needed to do a few other upgrades and this player was one of them and have been impressed ever since

The device ups scales non 4K content very well and the picture quality for all formats is well detailed. The player loads DVDs quickly and the Internet app display is uncluttered The chassis is solidly constructed.

In the world of 4K-media players there is a still a lot of pain for early adopters. Sony has a knack in bringing these bleeding-edge technologies into the consumer market with a certain amount of polish. While it's not a perfect product, it does what's required for a good bit less than others.

I just recently bought this Sony 4K UHD Blu-ray player to go with my new Sony 4K UHD TV and I must say what an amazing picture! It doesn’t get much better than this! And it’s great for all your streaming needs too!

I picked this up with a new XBR55a1e. I can’t say enough good things about the TV. The blu-ray is very quick to start up and connect to the internet and has a fantastic picture. at the sale price, its hard to beat.

I love the Sony name and I upgraded from a 4K upscale player from Sony to this true 4K player. The picture is great plays 4K doc well with good sound and picture. 3D is just as good we’ll worth the price good player

This Sony X800 4k dvd player is worth more than the price you pay. Just the Dolby Atmos stereo system by itself is very impressive. Add the quality of the video and you have the total package for home entertainment.

If you're looking for a up-to-date Blu-ray player that can handle any disc you throw at it, this is the one. 3d, 4k, HDR, SACD even, all supported. And some smart features to boot if your TV happens to be lacking.

I have not purchased a 4k movie yet however it upscales blu rays very well. Image looks fantastic during Dark Knight Rises. Quiet operation. Great for music. Sleek and simple design, heavy, and appears well made.

I love this special Blue-ray player that works with my new Ultra 4K 50" TV. The instructions were not helpful, but I figured it out-trial and error. Watching things with this blue-ray player on the TV is surreal.

this player was easy to set up and connect to wifi. great picture and nice features with the streaming apps and all.

The footprint on this blu ray player is bigger than my ps4 pro. It's a plain looking square box with a glossy front. It kind of looks like a VCR. When you push the eject button the whole front flips open. The only light is a tiny little green light when the player is on. There is no standby light. I tried to plug my headset into the USB port on the front but it didn't work. The cover over the USB port is flimsy and hard to open. The apps work fine. The picture is great. The remote is nice.
