I already had a 4k tv and so I was in the market for a 4k player. Got this one on black friday for half off. Very good pic quality and It has wifi which is useful for updating.

This is the best blu-ray player I have ever owned and I upgrade every 2 years.

Bought this to match up with my Sony 75" 4K (XBR75X910C) and replace an eight year old Denon Blu-Ray player. Easy to set up and loads crazy fast. Image and sound are awesome. I had to play with the audio settings in the player a bit to get Dolby THX etc. The two UHD deal offered by Sony was a nice touch. Wrestled with going to the x1000 but really could not justify the double cost.

Plug-and-play out of the box with no surprises. The detailed reviews by those more knowledgeable than I were helpful.

Player worked well with Oled 4K tv right out of the box. Very good picture. Sound into Yamaha receiver is very clear.

I own all Sony products. I only have a few 4K movies but the picture quality is very good and it is worth the money.

Easy installation for someone like me who is not good with that sort of thing. Great package with Netflix, Hulu, etc.

This 4K player shows high quality pictures in HDR but a little bit slow when it prepares to play the movie. It is not a big deal for me. Other than that it is a good player.

I had the 2016 Samsung model briefly but it could not accommodate my non-UHDR TV's output, so back it went. The Sony makes allowances for non-UHD machines (it shuts off the UHD feed) but hook it up to a UHD set and whoah! Functionality is generally very good--the path to adding apps is not straightforward, however. That said, 4K UHD streaming (Netflix, Amazon) looks spectacular and 4K blu-rays look incredibly rich and exciting. Wish it would pick up where the 4K blu-ray left off when I power down the unit, but for all I know that's an early-stage glitch in the format itself. If you don't need an Oppo or an $800 Panasonic to feel like a videophile, choose this.

Just the kind of receiver I looking for, upgraded from my Samsung box home theater, very pleased with the purchase.

I bought this to upgrade my BD player after getting an LG OLED UHD TV. The difference was immediately noticeable. This player makes all BD discs look better. If you happen to have access to 4K BD rentals in your area, even better. While I paid $149 for the player on sale, I would recommend it even at full price.

quick start, good access to the built in apps. 4K is a good upgrade from Blu-ray. Also makes old blu-rays look good!

This blue-ray player is everything the manufacturer claims. Very easy installation and set-up. I was viewing a 4k movie in 10 minutes. Fast access to streaming videos also.

Great pairing with our Sony 4K XDR Pro Extreme television. Easy set up, great setting options and optical audio connection to sound bar was simple & produced great quality.

this by far the best player for your buck! I really enjoy the movies through 4k and looking at Blu-ray are fun too
