I needed an affordable 4K HDR Blu-ray player to show off what my new TV can do and this player did the job with minimal setup effort. I have not tested streaming apps since these duplicate what my TV does.

Nice player. Crisp audio. Picture is very good. Upscale DVD and Bluray for a very detailed picture. Haven't tried CD's yet but I'm guessing they'll sound pretty good.

Had a Sony Blu-Ray player previously. This player blows away my previous Blu-Ray player. Superb Picture. I have a home theater system and the sound improvement is unbelievable.. I watch a lot of British/Northern Ireland series etc. and I had to use subtitles to understand everything they were saying but with this player I don't have to. excellent sound along with picture. I'm watching series and movies that I'd previously watched before just because the quality is tha much improved.

I am quite happy with how this Blu-Ray player works with my SONY 4K TV - great match. Quality is great and easy to use.

It gets 4 stars because the screen interface sucks. This is the issue with all makers of these things today. They neglect to put effort into the screen interface. The players works great. Probably the best you can get for the price. Also do not buy this for the APP selection. That sucks also. I own a ROKU to run all my 4K APPS. Most smart items lack a good APP selection these days because they are trying to sell you their movies. Very sad. This is why ROKU sells so many units. I will say buy this player. But that's its only real use. My SAMSUNG T.V. does turn it off and on through the HDMI cable.

I have loved all my nest products. I hope I never need this one, but trust it will work if I do. Adds some piece of mind that everything is ok when you're away. Battery version is very easy to install!

This player has skipping and freezing issues. I updated the firmware and it seems to have helped but the picture remains unimpressive. I get a sharper picture on Netflix when watching UHD movies so I know it's not the television. (Sony X900E) Plenty of raves about this set so perhaps it needs tweaking. I had Geek Squad set it up and calibrate it so maybe my expectations were to high. It just doesn't have that "wow" factor like I remember when 1080p first came out and I was blown away. Just watched Wonder Woman and Alien Covenant and although good I didn't marvel at the upgrade. I'll continue playing for awhile before I return it. One other note, my 3 year old Samsung displayed a picture of the movie on the screen shot icon, the Sony just has the name. Just sayin.

It easily plays 4K, Blue ray and HD DVDs without hesitation. Very easy to use.

After all the great reviews, I was all set to really love this unit. But when I got it, I discovered there is no illuminated front display. Turns out, this is important! This means you don’t know what movie chapter you are on or how many minutes in, unless you bring it up on the tv screen itself. This is even more impractical if you are using the unit as a CD player, and you need to know what track you’re on. The only way to know is to turn on the tv! This is maddening. Never seen anything like it. It’s like a car without a speedometer or a gas gauge. Buyers beware. I’m returning this for something more user friendly.

This player has very good picture and is very easy to use. I had it set up and going in 30 minutes.

What a deal, $150 for an excellent 4K Blu-ray player that not only cranks out outstanding visuals, but uncompromising sound. The deck is also super quit. You know it is reliable because it is a Sony.

Bought this to go with my equally awesome SONY 65X900E. Picture is great. 4K ''Black Panther'' awesome! Upscales other discs great, youtube in almost 4K . Ran the sound out the audio HDMI to an analog RCA plug adapter to input to my old but great Carver 250 watt/channel receiver and Bose 901 speakers. Makes CD's sound STUNNING! upscales to HI-RES audio. Steely Dan Gaucho sounds like they are in the room! Very NICE sturdy player.Pairs with TV flawlessly!

Very clear picture and great sound. However, it has frozen twice after pausing a movie. I have watch several films so it may be something I am doing. All in all a great buy.

I like how slim and unintrusive this DVD player looks, and it plays UHD discs nicely. However, the user interface is a bit complicated, and there are times when I have a DVD in the tray but the player doesn't play it. i need to turn it off and on again so it recognizes something is there. I've also experienced some skipping on older DVDs even though it appears that the DVD is perfectly fine without any scratches.

Amazing the upscale in regular blue ray disks so close to 4k quality and 4k Exellent specially with Dolby atmos

I'm new to the whole 4K technology. I just purchased a 4K TV from Best Buy and wanted to enjoy the capabilities of the resolution. This DVD player is giving me that start without breaking the bank.
