This is a great 4k DVD player for the price. I purchased it on Black Friday for half the price. Easy to set up.

I’ve tried this player and the Samsung 4K player. Sony loads faster, runs quieter, has a cleaner user interface. And the picture upscaling (from Blu-ray to near 4k) is levels above the Samsung. Color, brightness, motion, saturation, all leaps and bounds better than what the Samsung produced. This is the 3rd best player on the market, and the best hands down for anything less that $800, behind only the bigger badder Sony x1000 and the Oppo players.

This is a great 4K player. I always highly recommend Sony products. Rock solid build and dependable 4K player!

Picture and sound are fantastic lacking in apps but support is there my ARC keeps taking over even though have seperate hdmi set for audio, and netflix wont find 4K content, but these are minor nuisances considering all tv's are smart now and just use the tv itself for all streaming content

Bough this player to use with our new Sony 4K TV. Quick to hoop up and creates a wonderful viewing experience.

Incredible detail. Easy to use remote. The Hi-Def audio is amazing and adds to the already incredible picture.

It was easy to set up. The only thing was you needed to buy a 4K HD cord, otherwise plays great and easy to use.

Until I got this sub I didnt know what I was mising out on. I only had a whole 7 ch klipsch set up in my theater room and no sub. It adds a whole new visceral dimension to movies and video games.

Easy to use and the picture quality is outstanding. Haven’t really used the streaming feature.

This blu-ray player delivers movies in incredible 4K, movies have never been so sharp and clear. Love it.

Setup was very simple and unit worked right away. As a bonus it provides extra services such as connection to Amazon Prime, pictures, videos and music stored on my network-connected home PC, Netflix and even to the Berlin symphony orchestra (for a fee) from which I can select from a wide variety of concert video recordings on demand Missing are any kinds of display, except for a power indicator, forcing me to look on the TV screen to see any info

Only have watched one 4K movie with the player. It looked good but not as good as in the store. Per the sales associate, I need the same hdmi cables as they use in the store (Would be an 8-10 foot cable, $90 plus). Not ready to fork over that kind of money for cables.

I bought the X800 to go with a new Sony 85" UHD TV. This was easy to setup and the home screen to navigate content is logical. The picture quality is awesome! I watched the UHD version of The Martian and was really amazed at the detail - I could certainly see a big difference from just watching from my Apple TV. The only downfall was getting the disc drawer to open the first time - it wouldn't! I had to read through some details on the owners manual to find a key combination to use that would force open the drawer. It kinda felt like doing a CTRL-ALT-DEL on your computer. However, it has worked flawlessly since!

In short, this is the best blue-ray player I've purchased. I needed a reliable and feature-packed blu-ray to pair with my new Sony 65" 930e 4K television. The crisp, colorful images and sound from the Planet of the Apes 4K blu-ray just blew me away!! I also enjoy the crisp colors and blacks from movies viewed using the blu-ray's Netflix feature. This is a must buy if you're looking for a 4K blu-ray player that will enhance all your viewing pleasures!!

This is an excellent player with quality playback and streaming. Price point very good compared to other players

Great picture and easy to setup. Had a little hiccup with the dolby atmos, but was able to figure it out. Just had to turn off enhance sound option.

I bought this thing last year after reading all the previews for it upon release day even going as far as in Janurary of when ever they started making 4k disc's buying all my stuff in 4k while waiting for this to come out. Let me say it has not dissapointed the sound is awesome the picture is 2nd to None and I love my Sony 4k player. Best way to watch mobies at home and having ditial copies with the 4k for on the go is the best.

Great player that displays high quality video. Being able to stream from it is another great feature.

I bought an LG 4K HDR player... but, I was disappointed in it. It experienced audio dropouts on several titles. I exchanged for this Sony unit, and have been very pleased with its performance!
