We purchased this DVD player to connect to a new QLED TV and the combination is near perfect. The DVD player has a small footprint and fits nicely in the component rack. The cable and set-up was easy. It is clear to us that the DVD player makes standard Blu-Ray movies look even better. Definitely worth the money.

Very easy setup and I finally get Dolby Vision for my 4K disc collection. Sadly the disc format is dying a slow death but I think quality is still better than streaming. I think if the price of these players were under $100 the format would still stay popular. This is probably the last disc player that I will ever buy and based on other Sony products it should be built to last.

I was hesitant with the advent of streaming if I should even bother getting a 4K player since so many digital releases are 4K now, but there are a few reasons I did. #1, I still have some 4K discs and they look the best in this format - I only buy my best-of-the-best releases in physical 4K form now. #2, there are still instances where the internet may drop out and the discs allow me to still have that option if needed. About the player - after doing some research I appreciated the quality of the unit balanced with the price. I didn’t want to spend hundreds and hundreds of dollars on a unit I’d use once in a while at this point, but I also didn’t want to get a bottom-of-the-line unit that I’d waste money on. This one fit the bill - works great, easy setup, and a lot of sites ranked it very high on image quality tests.

Excellent Blur ray DVD player with Dolby Vision. Small footprint allows for placement in almost any environment. Setup was easy, and the remote is small and easy to use. Playback is amazing on HDR and blue-ray dvds and upscaling on regular dvds is good. Would recommend this player.

Easy to use quality clear picture exactly what I was looking for if not better smaller than my LG DVD player which they no longer make pretty happy with it so far lightweight was having noise issues with it then I placed only likes 6 oz on top of a player and that alleviated the noise

I love my UBP-x700 player. I have been a diehard Sony video products fan for many years and this player is no disappointment. The player also does a great job upscaling my older content. Setup is quick and easy. Maneuvering through the menus is also simple and straightforward.

This unit was a second purchase of a Sony 4k player for me. I purchased the UBX800 last Xmas.It was $50 cheaper then the UBX 800 and has Dolby Vision..The only difference is it lacks Bluetooth.. Controls are simple and it produces a solid 4k picture.Default settings should work well for most users.This unit is highly recommended.

The Sony Streaming 4K Ultra HD Hi-Res Audio Wi-Fi Built-in Blu-Ray Player was very easy to set up. Good suggestion from the BestBuy Associate to purchase a new HDMI cable to match the capability of the Blu-Ray. Great picture and sound quality. Remote is easy to use.

Excellent Mid-Range 4K BluRay Player for the Price. One level up gives you 3D capabilities, but I didn't need or want to change all of my movie collection into 3D format. Pros: 1. compact; 2. excellent price during Black Friday; 3. very compatible with existing Sony system; Cons: 1. none so far after two months.

This is a small lightweight DVD player that has worked great so far. Plays dvd and 4K- videos look great. Teamed it with JVC projector. I wish the remote looked more sophisticated it does the job and I use a universal Logitech remote anyway.

I've had this player for over 1 year, so it's time to give my thoughts on this little marvel. First of all, it's still working! The reason I lead off with this is because my first 4k player (not a Sony btw) had overheating problems, and had trouble playing 4k discs when it overheated. This thing still runs like a champ, and it should because it's a Sony. It has all of the features I'm looking for...4k, HDR10, Dolby Vision are all there. I'm good. As to the so-called lack of streaming features, get real. It's silly to buy a 4k Blu-Ray player to stream stuff, when you can simply get a Roku, Chromecast, or Apple TV box which is much cheaper and do that way better than any 4k player can. Buy this because you want a good solid 4k player that will last for years, not for features that are better served by buying other devices that can actually do the job better.

Perfectly small to fit anywhere in your media center. Reasonably priced for great Sony picture quality product. Simple operation buttons for all generations. Auto link with many Sony TV's, Receivers' remotes so you don't even need to "PAIR".

I was in need of a new Blu-ray player and the salesman at Best Buy recommended this Sony - Streaming 4K Ultra HD Hi-Res Audio Wi-Fi Built-In Blu-Ray Player as an affordable alternative, she was right. It loads faster than my older Panasonic Blu-ray player and was a snap to set up. I hooked it up to a 55”Samsung 4K Ultra TV and the picture is amazing. I haven’t used the Wi-Fi feature yet as my TV has that built in, so it’s kind of redundant. I like the remote that the unit came with. It's small and the buttons are in the right locations for a change. It just seems intuitive to me versus some other remotes I’ve used. I’ve only had this Sony 4K Blu-ray player for about a month now, so I don’t know how the life expectance is, but in my past experience with Sony product’s, I’m sure this player will be with me for years to come. I recommend this Sony 4K Ultra Blu-ray player if you’re looking for ease of use, set-up and picture quality.

Bought this to replace my old unit. I’ve had this about a month and happy with it. Small, simple, and easy to use. I played some older DVDs and it does a good job of up-converting/improving the quality. The price was pretty good.

1. I appreciate that there's a light that tells me when the player is on. 2. it's compact and quite. 3. built in wifi. now the cons... 1. I have a Sony TV and currently the remote doesn't automatically works for both (so I have to deal with 2 remotes until I figure this out). 2. The full price is a little pricey for my taste.

For the price it plays 4K movies flawlessly. Easy setup that took less than 10 mins. No issues with playback and the integrated apps work well but better off using dedicated streaming stick. Only complaint is the volume button on remote isn’t working on my receiver I have it plugged into.

I wanted a 4K Blu-Ray that I could add apps to and play great quality 4K Blu-Rays. This machine does just that very easily. I'm not the worst with tech, but the quicker and easier it installs is better. I was using it immediately. I love the capabilities. It is exactly what I was looking for.

Less than 2 years ago, my husband and I bought the Sony UBP-X800 (not at Best Buy). It had been giving us trouble for the last few months and finally stopped playing Blu-Ray discs. I contacted Sony, the customer service rep determined it needed to be repaired and of course the warranty had expired. Since the local places that could fix or look at it were all closed due to the pandemic, we decided to buy a new Blu-Ray player. We were very against buying another Sony after the bad experience (we have been loyal Sony customers for years, but were very disappointed with this product and how little time it lasted, for the price especially), but it was our best option. We ordered from Best Buy and got it delivered to our rural location in less than 24 hours. I like that it is a much smaller unit than the last one. So far it has been working properly, but we bought a 4 year geek squad warranty just in case. It has WiFi capability for updates and plays a variety of disc formats, including 4K and has 3D capability. We are happy with the features and got a good price on it. The shipping was amazing! Hopefully, this will last a lot longer than the last one.
