Was looking for a compact player for my motor home and was pleasantly surprised at the quality put out by this unit. We tried a blu ray cd that wouldn’t play in our more expensive unit at home and it worked fine in the Sony. Glad we got it.

NO NEED FOR LARGE SHELF AND NO NEED FOR ANNOYING CLOCK OR LARGE BLUE DISPLAY SHINING ON YOU WHILE YOUR WATCH YOUR FAVORITE MOVIES ETC. SIMPLE PLUG AND PLAY AND EVEN AN OLDER GEYSER LIKE ME CAN OPERATE IT. SMALL FOOT PRINT AS NO NEED FOR EXTRA SPACE. PLUG ETHERNET IN AND GO FOR STREAMING VIA THE WEB. NICE UNIT I HIGHLY RECOMMEND

Vey small in size, easiest simple remote (not fancy) I've ever had, fast internet connection as it is LAN wired and not WiFi (I guess that makes it faster). Took back a more expensive player. BY THE WAY -- My TV is 2007 Vizio 720p. yes.. a dinosaur.. and the Blue Ray was crisp and defined (as opposed to my old non-blue ray DVD player). I didn't want to buy a new TV and the upgrade to this Blue Ray made a difference.

good product, small and easy to use and set up picture quality is adequate

The player I had started freezing about an hour or so into the movie. The Best Buy agent recommended this player for me. It is basic, you need a land line to connect to internet, but I only use it for Blue Ray or DVD. So far, it has played every disc with no problems.

My wife wanted a blu ray player for her classroom. I looked around and compared products and this seemed to fit best. It was very inexpensive but had great reviews. Sony has always had quality products and this one is certainly one of them. So far no issues but we'll see how things go over time as it gets used. As of now, no issues with performance.

Works great! Although most TVs have streaming built in, it is helpful to have a DVD player for the occasional DVD rental and this plays blue ray in 1080p which is great! It is portable which allows us to take on trips (which we've done when we stayed at an Airbnb that didn't have internet on purpose).

Very easy to use, doesn't take up space. Picture is very clear.

I am technically challenged but this player is so simple to use. Don't have to be a genius to operate (and this is most important for me). It displays movies just like in a theater but in the comfort of your own home. NOW, I can't live without it - I use it for rented movies, and subscription channels. You can't go wrong with the Sony-BDPS1700 Streaming Blue-ray player.
