Easy set up and good quality. Have had one for a few years and got this one for my daughter for Christmas. She loves it. True HD quality not upscale. Comes with remote and batteries. HDMI cable not included.

I think this works great for my dvd/blu ray disks. I think it actually might look better than streaming, but it does have to add apps for streaming… I just don’t use them.

We needed a new player that would at least meet the visual standards of our new television - everyone is thrilled with this Sony item. The ease of use/set up, high quality, and aesthetic looks are what we have come to enjoy with Sony products and this unit is no exception.

Connected to Samsung 40" UN40H5003AF TV and produced a great picture using HDMI connection. Easy set up / remote pairing to TV. Not using wifi, just DVD and Blue Ray

Needed another dvd/Blu-ray player and chose this one because it's Sony and I trust their products and it was reasonably priced. Have used it a lot already in the month I've owned it and it works nicely with no issues.

My 1200.00 top line Marantz Blu-ray player has died and its going to be over 300.00 to fix it. I bought this cheap Sony to tide me over until I decide if I want to put that much money into the old Marantz. This little thing was 69.99, less 10.00 because it was on sale, less 12.00 because it was an open box, without the manual or the box, so 48.00 with full warranty! I downloaded the manual and it works great! Its not satisfying to touch, its about 2 ounces heavy and feels plasticky and cheap, but this is what I expected in a bottom of the line player from any brand. Even at 69.99 MSRP price, its fabulous, never mind 48.00 for an open box blow out!!

Excellent player for cost. Play BluRay movies crisp and clear detailed picture beautifully.For such a small unit it's packed full of features. I love how it also plays all my old DVD collection better than a DVD player, CDs too! Audio is also pristine. Very Happy.

The Blu-Ray player is lightweight and easy to use. I've boxed it up and taken on two trips already. Great option for bringing Netflix along. Picture quality is good too.

The best feature is simplicity. It has an uncluttered interface, free of extra apps that I do not want on the Blue-ray player. I have all the streaming apps I want on my tv, I didn't want to clutter up the interface on the Blue-ray. I just wanted to play disks without intermediate prompts for other apps. This device gives me just what I wanted. The remote is also simple, uncluttered and easy to use.

If you just want to watch a DVD or blu-ray, and you need a new player, this one fills the bill! We seldom buy new movies anymore, but like to occasionally watch one we have. We also live in the country, where internet and satellite are not always working! haha. I picked up this Sony machine, took it out of the box, plugged it in and was watching a movie in about ten minutes. The remote is simple, without all the fancy "adjustments" and connectivity that I don't need. Plug and play, push start and watch!

Purchased this for my mom who was looking for a used DVD player. It hurt my heart to think of her buying an old DVD player from someone. I bought this one knowing she wouldn’t need Wi-Fi or anything fancy. Surprisingly they upgraded their TV recently to a smart TV so she’s covered there. This is a great basic player she can use with DVDs which is what she mostly has. I reassured her (several times) that yes, it would play her DVDs as well as any Blu-ray’s she can now borrow from us. She loves it.

We bought this for our guest room and it is a good player. I like Sony products and this one is easy to use. Very pleased with the product
