I needed a new DVD player and was directed by the Best Buy employee to a very reasonable priced model. I didn't need wireless and bought the recommended model without much consideration. When I took it out of the box it was so small I thought I may have made a mistake. Hook up was so easy and when my DVD began to play the picture was amazing. Operation is a breeze and even my husband was able to use it for the first time when I was out and he had no directions.

I have a lot of DVD and Blu Rays from when my kids were growing up. My DVD player went out and I was looking for an inexpensive player so my grandchildren could watch the movies. This Blu Ray player is excellent for the cost. It has a great picture quality, was easy to set up, and even my four year old granddaughter can use the remote. I definitely recommend it.

I good a little device for $50 bucks even though I don't have any need for the extra bells and whistle's that come with his device. I really do you Halle suggested this device for people that don't have cable maybe college dorms etc. it works very well because it gives you also a streaming device Apple YouTube things of that nature so you kind of get more than just a DVD you get a Blu-ray and everything else worth it

I bought this player as a replacement for an old generic player i had for a few years. Like in a few reviews i read, it is smaller than it seems, but thats great because it saves a lot of space, especially if you have a bunch of stuff already in your tv area. The remote could be a bit bigger, but it plays blurays fantasticly, with rich smooth hd picture. You can download apps into it such as netflix, crackle, youtube, etc. The only thing that would make it 5 stars is if it upscales reg dvds, but its not a huge deal, its still a great player.

I’m not sure why I even bought this. I’ve been using my PS4 and the remote experience has always been horrible. Instead of purchasing an expensive remote upgrade which everyone seems to complain about, I figured let me buy the one thing I’ve never owned. It definitely does the trick. The streaming aspect is a nice bonus although if one owns a Roku or Fire stick it’s likely it will never be used. Good price and good quality product.

Sleek and tight Blu-ray player. What else would you expect from Sony. Every feature operates smoothly. The compact size is modern and doesn't demand lots of attention. The remote is basic and has built in streaming buttons. The on screen interface is easy to use and understand.

I hadn't used a DVD player for years, believing I could get everything I wanted from a streaming service. But when a classic movie I wanted to see was only available on a service I didn't have -- and was disinclined to get -- I ordered the DVD online and went looking for a new player. This Sony Blu-Ray player is a whole new generation from the ones I had in the past: small, sleek, easy to operate; and delivers (or helps-deliver anyway) a clear, sharp picture. I still have some old DVD's, so it's nice to have a player again.

It works to all of my expectations. It's compact in size. Easy to use for older senior people like me. Great price--it didn't brake my bank. Great service

I bought this product for my mother who is in her 80's. It is small so it will fit anywhere. It is lightweight and very user-friendly. Perfect gift!!

This is a Blu-ray player, a regular dvd player, and streaming hub. This is an inexpensive entertainment hub for us old perple who might not have a streaming hub or smart tv yet. This works with smart tv's too.

This player is a nice compact unit that fits perfectly in my room. Perfect HD quality for Blu Rays and does a nice job of upscaling DVD’s as well. I highly recommend the BDP S1700.

Purchased the exact machine previously from another retail store. The reviews were good so we bought the 2nd one. Did not realize the remotes work on both machines. Unless the player is manually turned on as well as the tray both units will respond using the remote. Our players are in two different rooms about 30 feet apart. Having seperate codes or a programing option would be great. Otherwise it gets 5 for value, ease of operation, and size.

What can I say it's a Sony. This is a nice compact full of extras at an affordable price dvd/blue-ray player. Very user friendly with excellent output. Was looking for a replacement for an old player (not a Sony) that just up and quit on me and this little gem fit the bill. No disappointments here to date having it almost 2 months now.

It arrived the day after I ordered it. It was super easy to install. Five minutes after taking it out of the box, we were watching a movie. Works great!

This is the perfect size for small spaces. It was easy to set up and sync with my other sony products. the quality of the device is well made and easy to clean. I can use any of my remotes to control it. The streaming services set up was easy as well. I am happy with the purchuse and know it will be of good use for many years to come.

I bought this to replace a Sony Blu-ray player that we've had for about 10 years. I read a lot of reviews before choosing this one. I love the Sony brand and wanted to make sure they were still a good contender in the Blu-ray player market. It is much more compact than our previous one and I can't believe how little it weighs...but it gets the job done. Definitely not top of the line, but great for the price.

This thing is compact lightweight & does the job for me blu-Ray dvd all regions it also streams as well if your looking for a good device that covers all the bases this is the one and it easy on the wallet or pocketbook however you roll. You can always spend more but for the money I really think your gonna have a hard time beating this machine

We got this for my youngest son who has our vintage 2000 DVD player in his room, with everything coming on Blu-Ray now he was wanting a way to watch so we bought this. It has all of the streaming services we use available so we've also got him where he can watch those without having to contest use of the living room TV setup. Nice quality product, easy setup and very happy with it.

This unit is a very good deal for the money. It is easy to set up, has good picture quality, and is not complicated to operate. It's also relatively small, so it doesn't take up a whole lot of space in a console or on a stand. It was exactly what I was looking for.

This DVD player is a nice addition for someone looking for a decent product at a reasonable price. This purchase was a gift, since I already own one myself and have been very satisfied with the performance I have received frommy own.
