I’ve used this unit for over a month and am very pleased with it, having tried CD’s, DVD’s, and both standard and 4K blu-ray disks. I was very pleased with the ease of setting up the remote to control my LG 4K TV. I initially was having trouble getting the unit to respond but got it resolved quickly using the troubleshooting section of the user manual involving connecting the power adapter to the unit in the correct order. I have not as of yet tried the many other features of the unit but for what I purchased it for which is playing all sorts of disks it is all I could hope for. One comment about the remote: although it is small it fits easily in one’s hand and controls the TV and unit appropriately. Overall I couldn’t be more pleased.

Lives up to its CR rating--easy to use, responsive to the remote control, good interaction with the TV. The lack of a display relieves us of one more time display differing from all the others in the room

I love this DVD player. It has a lot on It like Netflix. And things like that, which is awesome, 4K stuff. Definitely worth the price.

Great product to have. I had been eyeing a 4K player for quiet some time and finally took the dive to purchase one. So far, I am very impressed at the quality of this device and I enjoy that it is very easy to use.

The Sony DVD player has exceptional picture quality.

First off, yes i experienced the freezing some have reported but doing a full setting factory reset and disconnecting it from the internet has fixed the issue. Now I can play anything without the possible one time freezing! IF YOU ONLY WANT THIS PLAYER FOR PHYSICAL DISK THEN BUY IT! Once I did those two things the player works without any issues and the thing is quick to load and produces an amazing picture! I didn't intend to use the apps anyways since I have a smart tv. Also idk why people complain about the controller, its comfortable and easy to use and the player it self looks fantastic!

Very good, reliable Blue Ray player. Sony offers a very easy set up process. I like the apps that come with the player. I also like that it can enhance the non-blue ray discs.

This 4k player is an amazing value for your money. It is not the cheapest but I would argue that for the money, it is the absolute best. The build quality seems good, but to be honest this is sitting on a very secure shelf on top of a PS4 I don't expect to jave to test the build quality. I don't use this machine for anything but playing dvds. Personally I don't need the extra "smart" functions, but it does come with them. So if you wanted to, essentially you could use this as a multimedia hub type of situation. All in all you will definitely get your monies worth, and hopefully you'll be as elated by the quality of picture and sound output as I am.

It’s really a little more than I need. I have all the apps on the TV. Video quality and sound are excellent. The remote operates as expected. The size is perfect for where it needs to be. In short, I’m very happy with it.

I love this Sony cd dvd blue ray player. It was easy to set up with my internet connections. It plays beautifully and is small and sleek so it takes up very little room. This player has many added features.

Replaced my failing LG machine. I wish I watched more UHD Blu Rays instead of collecting them, but this machine performs well when I actually act like the cinephile I claim to be. If your Blu-Ray doesn't look like it did in the theatre it's the Mandela Effect and remember there's over seven versions of the movie Se7en and none look the same.

Great buy very easy to set up, upscales older dvd's fairly well but the picture quility on new 4k is awesome.

I couldn't be happier with this 4k blu ray player. It's easy to use, it hooks right into my TV and sound system with no issues, and it supports dolby vision.

Works fine better than the ps5 blue ray player For the price its good however You need to manually turn on and off dolby vision which is annoying and some blu ray disk dont even show if it even supports dolby vison, you would than need to go online and look it up yourself For me thats a deal breaker but at $200 u get what u pay for I ended up returning this item and got instead the panasonic UB820 it was totally worth the extra money picture looks better to me than this sony x700 if u dont want to spend $500 for the panasonic UB820 than i recommend this sony X700 only bad thing is u have to manually turn on and off dolby vision.

Since I just splurged on a Sony 4K OLED TV, I got this Sony Blu-ray 4K player to replace my older player. From what I read, this player not only plays 4K videos (I don't yet own any), but it also upconverts standard and Blu Ray DVDs to what is described "near" 4K quality. This is the part that interested me. It has a ton of great features, and over 5,000 near-five star reviews, so I figured it must be good. Setting up the player was a snap, and Sony provides a high speed HDMI cable as well. So far it seems great, and the size is fairly small. I've always had great experiences with Sony DVD players, so I didn't consider other brands. And since I got a Sony TV, I figured it would play better with a Sony DVD player, which it does, no problems at all.

I love this machine. As always, easy set up. Preloaded app platform. Easy to use remote. And the quality projected it fabulous. I have it hooked up to my big screen and surround sound and it is amazing.

With DVDs being infringed by streaming services, I fear players will be produced at a much reduced number in the future. Since I have hundreds of DVDs with no intention of getting rid of them, I am stockpiling brand new DVD players. Anytime there is a sale price, I jump on it. This is my fourth Sony and I will buy more before they get phased out at Best Buy. The sale price was off the chart! The ones I am already using are excellent machines.

This works well. Image on the 4K tv is excellent. There are a few "buttons" on the player (difficult to see) so most operations are done via the remote. The buttons are very close together on the small remote and it may give someone with larger hands or poorer eyes some difficulty. (I had a Samsung player previously and the remote was larger and much easier to operate.) BTW, I killed the Samsung by accidentally turning off the device while the disc was still spinning...probably damaged the reading device. So be patient when turning off your player. Best Buy's price was very competitive.
