I’m not a hardcore Blu-Ray watcher but I have a few 4k discs and some anime that I watch. The quality of the image is great no complaints. The menu is a bit dated in terms of design but is functional. That goes for the remote as well. Whats bice is thatbits instantly recognized by my Sony Bravia 7 so no need for crazy calibrations.

Bought this for my neighbor because their tv had Dolby Vision (referred by the kids as "DV"). I'd heard about some of the glitching that some of models in the x700 and x700/m have. Sure enough, I had to enable and re-enable DV at times because the picture would start to get tingy. Discs would pause and get stuck randomly at times. I do not remember if it was 4k or bluray content--- at the point I had to enable and re-enable DV I already wanted to take it back lol. Other then it being glitchy (Sony does not fully rectify theses issues over the years).. it is actually a great player. This and the Panasonic DP-UB420 have gone on sale for $150 every couple of months since 2021. The Panasonic is the better choice overall. I wouldn't pay more than $150 for it, though. If you have a Projector screen then there is no better choice at this price point than the Panasonic DP-UB420. Just be cautious if you buy this Sony model. Buy it on sale only and pay attention to your Retailers warranty/return policy. If you love Sony, buy an extended warranty... may be one day that Sony will fix these issues in a firmware update. If not you'll be covered for sure under extended warranty, if not Sony's. Because, really, this player would be great if it wasn't (so..could..be..glitchy) prone to glitch. That's why I'll never buy another Sony product without thoroughly reasearching it.

The remote control is a little confusing to understand at first. But in general the product works well.

It is a very simple and easy to use product. The price and quality are is good for the product you are getting.

This product does everything that it was advertised to do. It smoothly plays 4K, Blu ray, and regular DVDs flawlessly. And the sound (I wear earphones) is the best that I have ever heard. By shopping at Best Buy, I saved $80.

My first 4K player! Very happy with purchase. It's quiet and plays everything I need it to. For anyone considering upgrading to the 4K experience at home - do it! It brings the best quality to your home viewing experience and supports physical media to continue to be sold in stores.

Great upgrade. Been using my PS5 for Blu-Ray playback but that can be loud at times. This unit is very quiet and the upscaling of old dvd's is great too. It's got me watching old dvd's that have been sitting on the shelf again.

Great 4k DVD player at a good price. I've been watching 4k HDR movies I bought on Black Friday. They look very good on my new 4k Sony TV. Some reviews say movies sometimes freeze. I have not seen this yet. I put shims under the player to raise it for better ventilation. Not sure if this is needed (read this somewhere).

Needed a new player, have a lot of dvds. Got this one as it upgrades a dvd and it sure does that! I've watched several movies I saw on my old player, and the picture is much clearer one this player. Now I can slso get movies without checking if it's dvd or blueray as this will play both.

I purchased the Sony UBP-700/M Streaming 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray Player when my old player died. I am very impressed with the features and quality of this player. The picture and sound are awesome with my tv. We play a lot of blu-rays and dvds. I was able to purchase this on sale so that's another plus. Set up was plug and play easy. I highly recommend this blu-ray player.

Wow! What an upgrade from using my ps 4 pro or old blue ray player. This was one of the more reasonable priced 4 k players. I’m so impressed with the picture quality! Not only do the 4K disk look great but my blue rays and dvds look better than before as well. I got this the same time as a new Sony receiver and they pair together so well!!

This 4K player has great upscaling. We watched Christmas DVDs on it and they looked great on my 4K TV.

Good quality, fast Blue Ray Player and Streaming Device. Easy to setup and use. Wish remote was a little larger.

Killer Audio & Video. I like the extra HDMI audio out. Many useful features. Even plays most scratched discs well. Unlike my Samsung this replaced, this plays Blu Ray discs that the Samsung would skip. I thought the discs were defective but it was the Samsung. Could not beat the price!

No issues. A really nice feature is the dual hdmi outputs, allows you to send the picture to a TV and separately send the audio to a receiver. My old Denon receiver can’t process the latest 4K video so this resolves that issue. Almost all the settings are “auto” so not much in the way of setup. Picture looks great. Loads quickly,

Great picture quality, and an overall great device. Easy to use. The main menu app features are very outdated. No ability to add more modern apps. It’s a great Blu-ray player, or CD player!

We like it and can watch our DVD's. Everything changed to streaming, but I was sick buying all movies over again. Now I can watch all my DVD's again, also have a few 4K DVD's and they are great with that player. I still believe it could be cheaper, therefore, only 4 stars

I bought this for my husband and he absolutely loves it. He said it was easy to hook up and a breeze to operate. He has been playing old concert videos he transferred to dvd, and they play perfectly.

Haven't bought a DVD player in a decade since going all-streaming, but I recently bought a big LG OLED C1 and wanted to see what it was capable of with a 4K Blu-ray player, playing some of my favorite movies. In short, the picture is spectacular. Streaming is still great and has very good picture and sound, but 4K on an OLED is like seeing the movie in the theater. I put on 2001: A Space Odyssey and was blown away by the clarity of this now-pretty old movie. As far as sound goes the LG has a little bit of a bug playing back DTS on standard Blu-Ray players. You have to go into the TV's settings and make sure Sound is set to pass-through. 4K discs with Dolby Atmos work great. I also like the small footprint of this player, taking up little room on my media table. Only downside is that in all these years of developing DVD players why does the load-time still take so long? I know 4K data is massive but c'mon, it's 2022! And those FBI warnings in the beginning which you can't skip past. Makes me thankful for streaming. Nonetheless, I'll use this player for my most treasured movies.
