Bought this to replaced an old PS3 because it will not play 4k movies. The price is good but it is a little slow and after you "unpause" a movie it takes forever to play, so I end up ejecting the disc and insert it again to resume it faster.

Awesome DVD player. Put in the first Harry Potter movie DVD from 2000 and the picture was amazing. It was sharp and detailed.

Disappointed- 4k DVD's stutter during playback. At least 2-3 times in every 4k DVD I've tried. Using an 8k HDMI cable, so I don't think that's the issue

Easy to install. Simple to use. It works. Connects to Sony equipment. No worries with connection to Sony TV and stereo system.

Constantly freezing, skipping. Sony support was useless. It takes 3 resets and 10 tries to play any disc without it freezing instantly. I'd avoid this player. I've done every troubleshooting step recommend and no change

It’s great when it’s working, but it freezes randomly and you have to pull the power to get it to reboot.

An excellent DVD Blu-ray player and a great price. These are not easy to come buy but this one is definitely worth it!

Junk. Kept freezing. No amount of restarts or factory resets could get it to play through any movie entirely. Ruined more than a few movie nights with the family. Spend your money on another product.

I was excited to purchase this but it seems that movies seem to freeze and the player won’t respond. Regular DVDs, Blu-ray and 4k UHD freeze. You only get a few streaming apps too.

Great machine. Very well pull together and instructions were/are easy to use. I will buy another one if need arise.

Always been a fan of Sony!!! Video and Audio quality outstanding. Purchased several 4k discs, and family amazed!!!

Sony has broken these with a bad firmware and are unwilling to fix it or even admit there's a problem. When watching dual layer discs, this thing locks up hard about 3/4th the way through the movie. There are some settings you can try to adjust, but they don't fix the issue. I've reached out to Sony but they pretended like there aren't tons of people complaining about this issue. Buy something else.

Works well with my older Panasonic LCD TV. Allows me to play 4K Blu-ray disks over my non-4K TV. Very compact.

Great picture quality when playing a Blu-ray DVD and comes with a good quality 4K HDMI cable which is a plus.

This player does not allow for a hearing aid device to be used by a viewer, thus a poor rating. Picture is good but audio is poor.

2 years later and this player is a piece of junk. Maybe I wore it out. Last year has been a practice of unplugging and plugging back in. Some dvds played with no problems and others took a little bit of juggling different things to get it to play. My other Sony dvd that is not a bluray plays fine the dvds that this one will not play anymore.

The rating was solely because this was sold to me as a 'region-free' player. It's not. Apparently there's an issue with 'region-free' players in the U.S. Don't know all the details, but in order for it to be truly region-free it needs to be 'modified.' Glad I tested it before the Geek installers left.

Awful player. Should have listened to the reviews. I tried 2 movies and it froze both times, just like the bad reviews indicate. Didnt even bother further to mess with it, just took it back to the store.

The player was easy to set up, easy to use, and provides excellent features. Everything I was looking for.
