I tried the open box blu ray player at first to see what I was getting into. Worked for a couple days. The movies I were playing would freeze or stutter, sometimes not even play the movie so I switched it to a new one blu ray player. While you don’t have to expect much out of a blu ray player, it’s nice to see 4K getting better as time goes by. In my opinion it’s better to buy new if you don’t trust open and used items.

Our last BluRay player died a tragic death and since we liked the Sony version so much, until we had to give it extreme unction, we figured we would get another Sony. It works well, is very user-friendly, and plays our DVDs beautifully. No complaints!

I returned for the X800M2 upgrade. Little known fact - it only has 2.4Ghz wireless for all those streaming services. While it has Dolby Vision, it must be turned on/off manually (not automatic) and depending on distance from your router the limited bandwidth of the 2.4Ghz range made Dolby Vision pop-on/off mid-stream. With "streaming" in it's name they should have added 5Ghz functionality - even 6Ghz these days. Also - very light weight because no cooling element and I could hear spinning disc noise during quiet moments in the movie. Other than that - very capable machine for the price point including the typical awesome Sony picture enhancements and HDR10. No Hybrid Log Gamma, but few will miss that.

This Blueray is just wonderful. So easy to operate and the picture quality is first rate

I haven't used this extensively yet, but so far so good. The Dolby Vision capabilities at this price point are a strong selling point. The remote has more than the basic buttons (which I like), but it doesn't feel cluttered. It also probably has the fastest startup of any player I have owned. I haven't been able to test the Dolby Vision yet, but the 4K and HDR is solid. Set up was practically plug and play with a brief update upon first startup.

Works beautifully and the picture is just awesome! I can finally have all my streaming apps on one device! I’m still that person who buys Blu-rays in case the internet goes down so this came in clutch when our internet went out here in Alaska!

I purchased an Open Box EXCELLENT which was shipped to me from out of state. Upon opening up after all the unwiring of a working LG non-wifi unit, the problems all unfolded. The LG OLED recognized a Sony player. Great - but the power button on the unit itself would NOT turn off. The remote didn't do anything. I even changed the batteries - nothing. Also, Sony is a bit out of date with all the monster plug size that eliminates another 2 plug units with a critical surge strip. So shame on you Best Buy for a joke of no quality control/calling it "Excellent" when it was clearly defective. You wasted money shipping it, and took up my time with wiring, returning, etc. And my local store acted like they were doing me a favor returning a defective unit and if I wanted to pay full price for the Black Friday deal I could. How is that "generous" or accommodating? It's what is required by state law. First for everything I guess since I've purchased several items over the years with -0- issues. I did speak with the Store Manager today about what I should've expected for customer service and he said he would follow up with the employee. He tried to take $10-20 off the price to make up for the bad customer service experience but Corporate or Sony allowed for no reductions whatsoever.

Great BluRay Player very easy to use and great picture

Superb 4K DVD player. Don’t forget to purchase 4K HDMI cable to get the ultimate experience.

Plays any kind of Blu Ray/DVD, fantastic picture, easy to set up and easy to use, love it!

For the price I was certainly not disappointed. Easy to use, no complicated menus, no extra features required (even though they are included). Works well and hasn't let me down. This player is capable of true 4k UDH and does not rely on scaling.

My new Sony UBP-X700/M is an outstanding Blu-Ray player. Video quality is superb when playing old DVDs as well as Blu-Rays. Audio is equally superb especially through my Marantz AV8802A Processor. Top Gun Maverick gives it a thorough workout. Setup was a breeze. Yes, I'm very pleased.

This Sony Blu-ray player is highly recommended because of the ease and resolution are awesome. Great investment for entertainment purposes.
