So far I really like it. I did upgrade the HDMI cord. My only nit is that it only sees my 2.4 channel. But i doubt i will ever use it to stream so that's no biggie.

Thank you for your feedback! We're delighted to know that you are impressed with the picture and sound quality of the player. However, we regret to inform you that the player does not support adding or downloading apps. You can only use the pre-installed apps that come with it. New apps can only be added if there is a firmware update available for the player.

I had a Sony Blu-Ray player so when I was ready for 4K I wanted a Sony too. As far as playing discs its great. Where I have had issues is the apps. If the apps freeze then then the player freezes and they only way to fix it to unplug it then plug it back in.

Smart functions/streaming built in if your tv is a little older, or if your tv's smart features have quit working. Either way... box is small and inconspicuous. Disc tray is concealed behind a flap that opens downward as the tray extends. This muggy be a problem if you plan to install this near anything that sticks up (like a lip on the front of your entertainment center) or partly on front of the left side of the box.

Just unboxed 2 days ago and now the remote randomly stops working with the player, but will still control the TV and sound bar. Removing batteries does not correct. Look up issue and solution involves pressing a button on a remote,good stuff that since the remote does not work. Overall, I very much regret this purchase and will not be buying another Sony.
