Fitted well with my budget, had great expectations but it was very unstable. Had to return it. Pros: 1. Budget price and quality build 2. Supporting all available formats, including high-res audio media dvd-audio and SACD. 3. Beautiful picture and support of Dolby-vision. Cons: 1. Unit freezes randomly. You cannot do anything with it when it does that. You need to unplug & plug it, more PIA is that the power cord is not removable on the unit. You have to unplug from power source, which in my situation reaching behind my entertainment center. Did for the 3 of my 4K-BD. No issues with SACD or dvd-audio discs. 2. Very limited streaming services onboard and no way to get more. Only Netflix and Amazon.

Once again Toy who is our go to person when it comes to audio/visual equipment was spot on with this one. The first movie I viewed, Ford vs Ferrari was beyond what I expected. The sound blew off the grills on the rear recessed wall mounted speakers 12' high. Thanks Toy!!!!!

Excellent quality for a fair price. I haven't tried it yet on 4K blue ray, but I expect it to be as good as it is on 1080p.

Does not support any other regions but does play at 4k

Haven't really use this very much. Seems to be very well built. We watch most stuff with CC turned on. One thing that we haven't been able to figure out yet is adjusting the CC text size. We've never had an issue before with previous DVD's or Stream Watching but with this thing haven't been able to reduce the text size enough yet! Also Dolby Vision is turn off by default so you have to turn it on each time you use it!

Bought this Sony to replace an Oppo BDP103 DVD player. I wanted a 4K capable player to watch newer movies. This player displays a beautiful 4K picture with the sound to match. Plenty of options and picture quality is top notch. Buy and you wont be disappointed.

This blew my wife away compared to our old VCR. Wife is really happy for all the new movies she can play with Grandkids.

It’s pretty awesome especially in the sound department. Everything works top notch. The only think I have a problem with is the only apps are Netflix, Amazon, and YouTube. Would definitely benefit from Disney+ and HBO Max. But you can’t download new apps.

High quality build at a resonable price. Own 2 Oppo's (1080p, other 4K) and since they are know longer manufactured, chose to to purchase this over Panasonic. Only knock is that you need to manually select DV, and no support for HDR10+. Currently minor issues for me.

Very nice Sony quality soundboard. More sound , theater and voice dialog enhancements than I knew possible. The sound is not "all that" yet cos my TV I understand needs a resolution update. Probably the Dolby Atmose isn't working, but they're coming to look at it again next week. Very overly expensive

Plays 4k titles beautifully and upscaled standard BluRay titles as well...all in Dolby Vision. The picture on my LG 75" is amazing with this Sony. Buy it and watch your collection over again and see what you've been missing. Sony hit a home run with this player.

Very happy with this purchase. Easy to set up and great picture quality. Already purchased a second one for bedroom.

Nice built quality over my UBP-X700. I don’t like that you have to manually turn on or off the Dolby Vision support.

I upgraded my tv and 4k player. The streaming and clarity on this Sony 4k blows me away. This compliments my brand new 65 inch Sony - 55” Class BRAVIA XR A90J Series OLED 4K UHD Smart Google TV!! I feel like Im at the movies!! Don't hesitate go buy both!!

I only use this for disc use, CD/SACD/DVD Audio/DVD/BLURAY/4K. It works great for these formats with excellent sound and video. The rub is the cheap casing, the flimsy drop door and slide tray and lack of solid feet.

Good quality player when on sale, will play almost any type of disc. Too bad there is no music app, would be great to have since it supports hi-res music. C'mon Sony, why no spotify or tidal app support? I can surely use my phone to cast, but the player probably has a much better DAC to handle quality music.

The video quality is not good enough. If you search online you will get recommendations that this is the best player but it doesn't provide as good quality video as Sony E3100 for HD Blu-rays. So, I returned this and bought an old E3100. But if anyone wants a 4k player or wants a new player it is recommended.

I researched all brands of4K player and this unit had the most features at a great price. I bought it to use with my new XBR-950H 4k and the picture is stunning. You can't go wrong with this unit.

I have a LOT of Sony equipment and am a bit disappointed with this unit. I house my equipment in a (somewhat) grandson-proof cabinet. The 4K Sony Blu-Ray player positions its disc tray all the way to the left side of the chassis. If I want it to open, I have to shift the player slightly to the right. Doing so puts the sensor for the remote, which is all the way on the other side of the player, out of sight for the remote. I have to walk up to the cabinet to turn the player on, to open and close the tray and to turn the player off. The remote unit for the 4K player is tiny and it’s buttons are too close together. It is easy to accidentally stop a movie in the middle of a show by picking up the tiny Remote by the upper right corner. The picture produced by the player is beautiful, but the player itself feels like it is made of cheaper materials than my other Sony equipment.
