Excellent player. Setup is easy and the system plays multiple formats. With a 4K tv and receiver, the video and audio improvements are noticeable.

Great sound and video. Easy setup

First, I am searching for a region-free and/or multi-region player for my Region B Series (not made in USA). Extensive searches said this player could change to B, but those reviews are 2-3 years old, and the 'hold B' hack did not work. For a $250 4K player, it's not worth it since your still bound to USA discs. At 4K the quality is great, but you can spend less for same and/or better quality on another brand, which I'm hoping a Panasonic player will change regions. Another thing I noticed with Sony TVs and players is the lack of ability to update and/or add current steaming services. Sure every brand now has Netflix and Prime, but Sony still will not allow you to have (HBO)MAX, Disney+, Paramount+, etc which is my main reason for 2 stars. Buy this player if your TV allows or already has most up-to-date streaming services, but be forewarned if your TV is also a Sony because that combined with a Sony player LIMITS your streaming services.

The player does an excellent job with UHD movies with 4k Dolby Vision and Atmos sound. AMAZING

When building a home theatre system you have to go with a 4K blue ray player. Especially if your tv is 4K too for optimal clarity.

In its first couple weeks of use it has performed very well. Yes, having to turn Dolby Vision on/off manually is really annoying, but I knew that before purchasing the player. The biggest surprise is how great standard blu-rays look - the best image upscaling I’ve seen, and miles ahead of anything my previous entry-level LG was capable of. My main gripe is that I’ve already had one instance of the player freezing, which requires unplugging the machine.

Excellent blu ray player with streaming 4K Ultra HD HI-Red Audio WI-FI. This player operation runs smooth with minimal noise. I would recommend this player.

Well, this is unit #3!!! The first 2 were the previous model UBP-X800. That model froze every other day. Sony replaced it during warranty. The second unit started doing the exact same thing, but it curiously waited until the much reduced warranty period for replacement units had JUST expired. Sony website has THOUSANDS of the same complaint, and the Sony expert writes in and says "call this number and we will get this taken care of" but beware, that's a lie!! After going back and forth and going as far as you can with Sony Corporate the end result is NO HELP, YOU ARE STUCK!! I even asked if they could just give me a reduced price on a replacement - answer NO. (Just an aside, my HP printer stopped taking in the paper 1 year OUT OF warranty and HP said "it can't be fixed, sorry" and send me a new one for free. THAT is customer support!!!) So on with the saga... I bought this one and am hoping for the best because it has really good picture and sound. The included video apps are now 3 - yes that is right, 3!!! Miss my SIRIUS and Pandora...makes me remember when Sony was top of the heap. (Still on top, but a different pile.) 2 months in and so far so good. But the moral of the story, DO NOT BUY THIS UNIT WITHOUT GEEK SQUAD SUPPORT!!!!

Works great with other sony bravia stuff. Has an awesome picture and sound is too notch.

I wanted to upgrade the sound for my new Sony TV. Listened to this sound bar and one other in the store. Nice size and sound quality.

Hate our Sony UBP 700 Blu-Ray Player as it constantly pauses (hangs) and needs to be reset to play. Replaced it with this 800M2 and time will tell if this was the right choice

This blu ray has a solid strong frame build and the play back is solid. I got hooked up on my sony 930-E 55 inch tv. The picture quality is outstanding.

This product up converts DVD to 4k and 24p. Makes this a valuable addition to any high quality TV, also supports 24 bit at 192 kHz, an excellent choice for anyone.

W Would not be without this. Is great for detail in 4K movies and even the blurry movies. Felt it was important to upgrade. Was worth the money.
