Disappointed purchase

It sounded great in the store and had good clarity for the sound. Due to illnesses we had a late January Christmas when she opened the gift. She liked it but felt the sound was not as good as her JBL flip and thought a JBL equivalent sized one would be better. We returned it to Best buy and they reimbursed me for the product. While I was completing this my wife went to look at the JBL. She then tried the Sony Ult in the store and said it really had good sound, better than the JBL. I realized I did not press the button on the unit that gives it the deeper sound when she tried it at home. She said lets just keep the Sony Ult. When I asked the best buy associate if we could just cancel the transaction he said if it hasn't been more than ten minutes. Unfortunately when checking he said it was 15 minutes since the transaction was completed and could not let me have the unit I returned. The difference in rebuying a new one versus the one I bought on sale before Christmas was substantially more. Two hundred dollars verses three hundred eighty nine dollars. I was disappointed best buy would not work with me and cancel the return transaction. We passed on purchasing another due to the cost differance.

This speaker has 2 different ULT modes you can access with the ULT Button. Press this button when you need an extra little “oomph” in your sound. Press it once more to get ULT mode 2 and watch your music really come to life! This speaker does not distort sound when listening to music at the highest sound volume. The included strap make portability easy with this speaker. You won’t want to stop listening to this speaker once you turn it on. Perfect for a living room or a BBQ in the back yard. The speaker also has LED lights that react to the beat of the music, with the Sony Sound Connect app you can customize this further to your liking. You won’t regret this speaker at all!

I now use it in the house daily, seems to have a very nice battery life and sound is fine for what it is and size. Has some bass, no mids and alright highs. Got it on sale and so far seems worth it.

Awesome Speaker
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The Ult Field 5, has been an awesome speaker to have, great sound, good bass, not as good as its bigger brother the Ult Field 7, but still good enough for its size. Ult mode is nice to have at time if you want some extra bass, it does make it a little over exaggerated but if you want some extra power to the speaker it will do that for you. Battery life is pretty solid, along with the waterproofing the speaker has built in is good for people who want to take it to the beach or poolside. I didn't really care for the RGB lighting on the speaker itself but its not a bad thing if you like the aesthetic its just not for me.

I originally bought a sonos move 2 and the connectivity was a disaster. It would appear in the app then disappear then reappear then disconnect. Apparently its a longstanding issue with sonos and has leas to multiple executives being fired. Same yourself the hassle, get this speaker. Its so good. Crystal clear ar high volumes. Bass is natural and competes with jbl. My primary use is on a pool deck and it fills the area easily. It also easily connected to the outdoor tv via bluetooth. It works seamlessly and sound is grand. Watching a baseball game and you will feel like you are in the game. I’m a believer. Sony has delivered.
