At full blast, it’s loud, but it doesn’t deliver the bass thump or vocal clarity of the JBL Xtreme 4. Biggest turnoff: the Sony speaker app. It feels archaic and regularly crashes or freezes when adjusting the EQ. Even pairing and light control in the app is sluggish and buggy. Launched at $329, the ULT 5 didn’t cut it. But at its current ~$200 price point, it’s finally competitive. No other speaker balances lights, durability, connectivity, and sound for that money. If Sony improves their app, this would be a strong recommendation. But even then now at its $200 price point I still highly recommend this.

To resolve it, check your phone's sound settings to see if you can disable notification sounds from playing over Bluetooth. Also, if a second device is connected, a notification on that device could be the cause.
