To quickly sum up all my thoughts, I think these are a great pair of mics. They deliver a nice, clean and balanced sound, are well built and are so incredibly easy to use. You get two identical mics, a wireless receiver, and a USB-C cable. Everything has that classic Sony look. Simple, clean, matte black. Honestly, its perfect for me. Build-wise, it is all solid, and the mics “feel good in the hand.” They have a nice weight that I think most will be happy with, and while it’s probably better not to throw them around, I think they should survive the occasional drop and normal bangs. Using these is more or less, really, just plug and play. I did not really know what to expect here, but that really is all it took. Plug the receiver in, power everything on…and go. Everything just works. Clear connection. Solid connection. I was both pleasantly surprised as well as fairly impressed. To be clear, my singing is nothing to brag about, but that is not the fault of the mic. It captured it all, clearly, without issue (for better, but really for worse lol). No feedback, drops or pops. Luckily, for everyone, my partner carried me, and some others hopped on who could actually sing. All in all, though, again, I thought the mics did great. They put out an even, clean, and true sound. Lastly, battery life has been great, it should meet all the rated specs, and I just don’t think it will be an issue for anyone. They have plenty of juice, and in the rare occasion when they get low, you can get an extra two hours of play from a quick ten-minute charge. If I had one complaint, and really, I guess I do only have one…I really wish these came with some type of case. I think that was a big miss. Ultimately, I really like these mics. They do everything I want from them, they do it well, and they look good too. Further, they are EASY. I think that reduced friction is one of their best qualities. Just plug them in and you are ready to go. Honestly, I didn’t think I would enjoy these as much as I did, again, given my “questionable” singing voice, but it was just a lot of fun to hang out with some friends and have some fun. I think lots of people would enjoy these for just that reason, although I think they could be used for speaking needs, and I want to investigate if they would work connected to a computer for video conferencing/podcasting/etc… For all that you get, I absolutely think the value is there.

    Great set of microphones!

We are definitely a musical household. There are guitars, basses, and drums in just about every room. The one thing we were always lacking was something for the people who can sing! Out of the box these are a set of very nice-looking microphones. That is right, I said set. You get not only one, but 2 microphones in the box! Also included is a USBC charging cable as well as the receiver that will work for both microphones. The receiver has a regular ¼” jack. These mics are marketed as the perfect match for Sony’s ULT Power Sound series speakers, but they will work with any speaker that you can plug the ¼” receiver into. I tested it out with a Headrush FRFR speaker and it worked perfectly. Everything is rechargeable and completely wireless. So all you have to do is charge it up and you are ready to go! One thing this doesn’t have though is some kind of carrying pouch or case, which I think would be helpful to keep everything together and protected. But that’s a small gripe. They say these can get about 20 hours on a full charge, so they will easily get you through a gig or two before having to recharge. This 20 hours is for both the microphones as well as the receiver. These mics use the 2.4 GHz band which is pretty standard for a lot of wireless musical equipment. In my testing, I did not notice any kind of dropout or lag even when I was roughly 40 feet away from the receiver (line of sight). We do have lots of routers and modems and cell phones and things in our house that can sometimes cause interference, but I did not notice any. The microphones themselves sounded great. They had a nice clear and crisp sound and didn’t pick up hardly any outside or background noise. I would say they are pretty bright and natural sounding and have a good flat type response so its not too heavy on the low or high end. overall, I think these would be a great microphone set for a performing band, karaoke night at home, or even doing things like podcasting and things. They sound great, they last forever, and they just simply work! Definitely give them a try if you are in the market for a set of microphones!

I am not a musician or anything like that, but I have been wanting a couple of microphones for summer reunions to do some fun karaoke or even to take them for work events if ever needed. I am happy to share that I think I found some microphones that will check both of these boxes for me. The Sony ULT POWER SOUND microphones are simple to use and set up righ tout of the box. Not difficult at all. Almost a plug and play. Before even using the microphones, I was pleasantly surprised with the quality built of the microphones. Really love the simple color with the Sony branding. Not Bluetooth connection or anything like that. Just connect the adapter and turn on the microphone and you’ll start hearing the voice come through the speaker! The voice sound is clear. I have only used it once for a fun karaoke night at home, and it worked just as I hoped. My summer gatherings with friends will not have one more thing we can do and have some fun karaoke sessions without needing a fancy set up or anything alike. I also work in a nonprofit and somethings we do fundraising events, so I am also planning on bringing these with me, if I ever need microphones at an event. The wireless range is fantastic. I can walk around freely without any drop in signal, The battery life is great so far. All in all, these microphones feel premium and are not too heavy. My only complaint is that I wish the connector had a microphone sound level control. I connected it to a speaker, but the speaker didn’t have a dedicated mic volume knob, so it was tough to get the voice level just right. It wasn’t a dealbreaker for me, but it’s something to keep in mind. Aside from that, I love everything else about this mic. I love the sound, the color, the build quality, and the good long battery life. If you’re looking for a wireless microphone for your summer gatherings, this is it!

I have a large portable Sony Speaker. It is great for music, but now I can easily tap into the microphone input on it. This simple solution, gives me two microphones, and now makes this speaker a fantastic portable PA system, as well as enjoy a song or two. Pros: - Very slimline design, with no extra cords when in operations - Microphones connect very quickly to the receiver unit - Quick charging, and I have yet been able to run them down - The flat edges on the ring, on the input side of the mic, helps keep the microphones from rolling offer a table or podium - Light, not very heavy at all, easy to hold and use - Great sound, both from speaking and the singing (sorry don't see any auto-tune so can't help you there) Cons: - Only comes with 1 USB-C cable, and doesn't come with an adapter, you have to provide the adapter and extra cables if you want to charge all three at once - No carry bag, not even a simple cloth bag would have been good to include - Would be nice to adjust Mic 1 and Mic 2, or even designate between the two The nitpics only bring my rating down a little, about a 4.5 overall . Great add-on to any portable sound system with a 1/4 input, or that stereo you may still have. The range on the mics seems pretty good. I was able to go all over my deck and also in my basement and they still picked up.

    Great dual wireless mic set

First off, the setup of these mics was really easy. You just charge them and you’re good to go. The receiver uses a ¼ inch plug and that works pretty will for most guitar amps and speakers that are designed to use a mic too. The first big use of it for me was when I used it with a speaker I have that lights up with a party mode. I connected it to my tablet and then did a Karaoke party with my family. We just used Youtube karaoke tracks on the tablet playing to the speaker over Bluetooth, then the two mics wirelessly to the speaker for the singers. Its actually really nice that it has 2 mics for the same receiver since that means you can still have two even if your device only has a single ¼ inch input, or if its got two like mine you could theoretically have 4 mics running at the same time. It actually worked out really will since with Bluetooth and the wireless mics we could put the speaker away from the singers a bit and it really helped with feedback problems. The mics are built pretty well for karaoke and using two mics next to each other. They don’t pick up the other mics at all and they have some sort of built in system to balance each other so you don’t need to constantly fiddle with sound levels to get the two to integrate and sound good together. I also tried to use the mics as a wireless pickup for my kid’s violin since it’s an acoustic one and they wanted to try and be louder by feeding it into a guitar amp. In theory this would have been great since it was wireless so we could put the speaker across the room and help to have people in the back hear the music better. However, in reality it didn’t work great for this application. The mics do a really good job of focusing on the voice speaking straight into it and then muting or blocking off side noises. This was great for karaoke, feedback and clearly hearing the singer. With an instrument that meant that the mic had to be angled just right and held pretty close to the soundboard. When actually playing a violin you just can’t keep the angle right when using a mic stand. So while it was great for speaking and a person holding the mic, other applications may not be great. Overall I think these are really great slick devices and I would highly recommend these to anyone looking for a wireless mic for someone to speak or sing into.

    ULTimate microphone upgrade for speakers

The Sony ULT MIC Wireless microphones are a solid addition to the home entertainment center moment. These microphones may be used with any speaker that has a 1/4" mic jack - but are designed to pair "perfectly" with Sony ULT power sound series speakers. For myself, having a ULT power sound series speaker, I was able to experience them at fully marketed purpose. The packaging/box is simple having the two microphones, well protected the receiver and a USB-C charging cord. Each of the 3 pieces (2 microphones and receiver) needs to be charged, which 1 cord is included (with USB connector, no brick/wall plug). Other USB-C can be used as well. The battery life is advertised as about 20 hours, which with a couple uses have not had any of the pieces run out of battery - so, so far living up to advertisement. Set up is simple. Plug the receiver into the speaker. Turn the power on for the receiver and microphones and good to go. I see 2 utilities for this primarily (one which my wife/child are excited for). During a party, the microphone can be used to make any needed announcements. The other, is making the microphones the party. These microphones paired with a speaker can make for a make-shift but functional karaoke set up - which is what we've used this for. This requires you to use Youtube or a similar video service to display the words/song on but once you've got it set up - the karaoke moment is ready. The sounds comes over to the ULT speaker clear - along with a duet assistance that automatically balances voice between the two microphones so that one doesn't overpower the other. So far, has been a lot of fun. This of course is not a true karaoke mic set up with different voices and the songs through the machine, but if you already have a speaker these microphones are a good option for utility expansion. Or just for making those announcements while your guests are getting unruly. Overall, a good set of professional, sleek appearing microphones. These have particular utilities, but if searching for a pair of microphones Sony does not do you wrong.

For the last week I have been testing new SONY ULT MIC wireless microphones. Overall, it is a fantastic product with crisp balanced sound that is lightweight and durable. Karaoke has been making a comeback. Personally, I want to sound my best without restricting my movement due to pesky wires, so I needed a quality wireless microphone. The Sony ULT Mic fills that need. The box contained two sturdy microphones with a classic and sleek design and a wireless receiver dongle. All have built-in batteries that charge via USB-C and are advertised to last 20 hours. From my experience, I can confirm they will last through multiple jam sessions, and when it's time to recharge, they charge rapidly. Setting up and using these microphones is a breeze. I simply plugged the wireless receiver into my Sony XB500. Then, I turned on the illuminated power button on both the receiver and each microphone. Right away, both microphones instantaneously connected to the receiver without any problems, establishing a stable and clear connection without any dropouts. While singing, the microphones did an excellent job of capturing vocals while also reducing unwanted, popping sounds (plosives) and preventing feedback, even when the microphones were too close to the speaker. When performing duets, the microphones evenly synchronized the vocals and volume from both performers. With that said, I give the Sony ULT Mic my highest recommendation. It will steal the show at your next karaoke party or will make a great gift for a karaoke fanatic.

These are very high-quality microphones and setup was simple. There is only one charge cable, but they can be charged from any USB-C cable. The adapter will need to be charged as well. Once charged, all you have to do is connect the adapter, turn on, turn on the microphones and they are instantly connected. The sound quality is amazing with the Sony ULT speaker, but you can connect to any speaker with a matching adapter. Using both microphones at the same time is smooth and they do not interfere with each other. Karaoke sounds amazing and these are great to use for professional events as well. Charge time is great, and they have a quality weight but are not too heavy. They also look very good if you want them to match your karaoke style as well. The handles are smooth, and you may want to attach some tape if you want to give a little grip. They will work great just the way they are under most circumstances. There are no volume controls directly on the microphones, or adapter, and the volume will be controlled directly from the speaker. The Sony ULT speaker has the volume control right beside where the adapter connects. If you own a Sony ULT speaker, these are a must to complete the awesome sound package.

These things are a blast! I’m writing this after an epic 1980’s-themed birthday celebration for some friends turned into an all-night karaoke-fest. The party kicked off at 8:00 PM and these microphones spent the next six hours being passed amongst the seventeen guests who all took their turns belting out the best tunes the 80’s had to offer. Everyone loved the lightweight feel of these microphones. Those of us in the audience who were not covering our ears from the tone-deaf lyrics making their way into the ether enjoyed the microphones noise reduction features so at least we didn’t have to hear the singer taking breaths between their symphonic cacophony. We had people from all ages who took time to belt one out and not a single one had to be instructed on how to turn the mics on and off. No one struggled with keeping a grip on them and no one complained about them being too big or too heavy to feel comfortable rocking out on. Sound clarity, if you can describe karaoke in that manner, was excellent and no one needed to shove the microphone into their mouth for their voices to be picked up on the Sony speaker we were using. These things are great!

Got these for Party and Karaoke use and these did not disappoint. They charged up well and were easy to setup. We used these for three gatherings and the batteries are not depleted yet despite being on for about 12 hours total including testing them out. They can charge easily and quickly off any USB C charger or Sony ULT speaker USB C port. The build is good, they survived a few fumbles and drops from table height so far. The noise reduction really helps with heavy breathers without having to try to adjust on the mixing side, so these are good for simple setups. Again with the emphasis on simple setup without a lot of extra equipment, the auto leveling between the two microphones worked pretty well when you had a more quiet singer with a more projecting singer. It can't do as well as adjusting on a sound board, but it did equal things out quite a bit. The vocal pickup up is also very good and clear, again without any tweaking on the mixer end of things. I really recommend these for simple setups with good results without the need for any mixing gear to get fun singing results.

The Sony ULT Power Sound Microphone could not be easier to set up and use. I removed the microphones from the box and checked that they were fully charged using the included USB-C cable. I then plugged the receiver into my Sony sound system, powered it up, turned the microphone on, and was live. Two microphones are included so that you can sing a duet. The microphones have a solid feel and excellent, crystal-clear sound quality. Each microphone has a listed 20-hour battery life. It has built-in noise reduction and duet assistance, which balances the volume between the microphones for better harmonies. I cannot think of anything I would change with this wireless microphone system. You should consider this product if you are in the market for a wireless microphone system that plugs into your sound system with a ¼ inch MIC output. We are having a blast singing along with our favorite songs. This is a perfect setup for delivering portable speeches. Our son had an outdoor wedding last summer, and we had difficulty getting a different brand of wireless microphone to work with the sound system. This system would have been perfect.

I’ve been using the Sony microphones for a while and they are awesome for my use case. I play guitar and it’s so great no having a million more cables than I need and ease of use. What’s great about them is plug in play feature and most importantly the rechargeable battery. That battery lasts a very long time. Makes it super easy to use. And to make it better the charger port is USB C! Thank you Sony for adding the best charger port. That alone makes this microphone S tier. The quality is great and you able to hear your voice clearly. Another use case is when filming interviews at events I’m able to connect the wireless dongle to my sound capture and have the guests easily hold the microphone and not have the worry of cables. And the most important use case, karaoke. These are a Karaoke beast. No more cheap microphones and or tripping on cables. We are able to pass the mic super easy and turn them off with the switch. These are great for so many use cases and Sony made it supersimple to use.

As wireless karaoke mics go, this Sony ULT Wireless Microphone set is a great product, and if you have a good loud Bluetooth speaker with a 1/4-inch input, these mics will turn it into an instant party! Pros: • Great build quality • Good, clear sound • Plug and play — it just works, instantly • USB-C charging and long battery life Cons: • A bit of handling noise when you bump it • No carrying case I've been having a great time with these mics at home for a week or so, and I've found them to be perfect for karaoke at home. I'm using the set with my Headrush PA speaker, which has two 1/4-inch inputs. I've got a Bluetooth receiver plugged into one input and the Sony ULT microphone receiver plugged into the other. When I first set this up, I paired my phone to the Bluetooth and used karaoke tracks with lyrics from YouTube. I set the level on the mic input and got to singing. It was perfect from the start! Singing with a partner reveals the ULT's volume-matching, which works very well to keep both singers' levels equalized. I am very pleased with the sound from the ULT mics. It is clear and responsive to the singer's distance from the microphone. I have noticed some noise from handling the microphones, such as when you move them between hands or bump them, but it's not bad. The materials feel really solid, and I do appreciate that Sony put extra thought into the durability—even encouraging you to "drop the mic." The only think I think this set it missing is a padded carrying case so they can be easily transported anywhere there's a speaker. All-in-all, I am very pleased with this set. My house is going to be the wireless karaoke palace this summer!

The Ult Mic wireless microphones is a very easy to use set of Mics with super easy setup and excellent sound quality! Design This set includes two, very standard looking, wireless, handheld microphones, and a wireless transceiver that plugs into a 1/4 inch (6.3 mm) audio jack. Each of the three items is charged via USB C and a USB A to USB C cable is included for charging. Sony claims 20 hours of battery life on a charge, and I have no reason to doubt that claim. The handheld mics are a comfortable weight, and again, feel very much like any other handheld mic I've used. I've run sound for different types of events many times over the years, though I don't do so on a regular basis now. The mics are made to be durable as well, with silicone in them to protect internal components from damage due to drops. There's a light on the transceiver that blinks when it's on with no mics connected. Turn on at least one mic and it will be on solid. The mics have a light on the bottom, with the USB port, to show the charging status. There's another light on the mics where the power button is that clearly shows if it's on or off. Setup The setup could not be easier! Just charge the mics and the transceiver, plugin the transceiver to a speaker, or other device's, Mic input. Press and hold the power button on the transceiver to turn it on. Turn on one or both mics and start using them! I have had no issues with the setup, connecting or use. You really just plug in and the mics work. There is no app needed, no configuration to do, no settings to change! They just work! Features Besides the simple setup and the fact that it works with anything you can plug in a mic to with a 1/4" audio jack, there are some features it has that seem to work very well! There is background noise reduction, improvements to the sound to make voices sound natural and balance levels between two people singing for improved duets and harmonies. It may do more, all I know is vocals come through sounding very good! Having two mics on one mic input is a pretty great feature too, I think. Also, I mentioned it earlier but there is silicone inside to protect internal components - so they're made to be durable. Sound Quality What I found is that connected to my large Bluetooth speaker, voices from these mics sound extremely clear and natural. The usual "s" and "p" sounds that tend to come through loudly or accentuated seem to be automatically softened. Vocals just sound great in general and the levels sound great with two voices together! I also haven't heard any feedback! I'm not sure how they did that but even when the mic is close to the front of the speaker and I'm singing into it, there was no feedback. I'm not sure if that's a feature in my speaker but I'm guessing it's the mic. For systems I tested with I turned the trim up to about 3/4 and then volume was great. The voice volume levels are excellent and vocals are clear and natural! Summary The Ult Mic set could be a total game changer for any Karaoke night! I've had a great time singing at home with my family using these mics, and even by myself, which I don't regularly do. The fact that the set let's you connect two mics in one mic input is great and then the sound quality, it's just excellent! I think this set is an amazing value if you have a speaker with a mic input on it, you should consider the Ult Mic wireless microphones!!!

Although things are a lot different now than it used to be when karaoke machines were a big hit everywhere, people still like singing even when it’s somewhat embarrassing just for the fun of it. That’s my case since my voice never was something to brag about when it comes to singing despite the fact my talking voice is still envied by many. But I have a 16-year-old who doesn’t care as she just gets a laugh out of it and has fun singing with me. My experience with these mics so far has been better than I expected. One of my biggest complaints about mics designed for karaoke is that they tend to sound like something you’d buy at a dollar store. But I’m glad to report that these sound high quality, more like a professional type. I believe that part of the reason for that is that it probably has a built-in noise reduction system. I say that because even when we were singing outside while there was a moderate wind going around, our voices sounded completely natural as if there was nothing else going on. We would have had a completely different and bad experience with other similar microphones. I wish I had the ULT POWER SOUND speaker series as it seems that the experience would be even better with them, but I do have other Sony speakers that worked nicely with these microphones. They will also work with just about any speaker with a standard connector because it comes with a wireless receiver. Also, the range is spectacular. I’m guessing it will be over 100 feet or so. At least, it worked even when the receiver was in one of our gazebos and we were singing from the other. They’re about 100 feet apart. After a Friday afternoon playing with them for over 4 hours, then a Saturday for at least 3 hours, and today, Sunday, I hear my daughter using them with her friend for the last two hours if not longer than that, I can say that the built-in battery seems to last a very long time. Over 10 hours for sure. Better yet, it’s easy to charge. On the downside, they are significantly heavier than I was expecting. Not unbearably heavy, mut not light by any means. I believe it is because of the higher quality internal components. The bottom part is made of hard plastic. I’m not sure it would survive a drop higher than 4 feet or so. The top part seems to be made of some sort of metal to protect the mic itself and it would probably survive okay. Chances are the top would reach the floor first. Overall, they are great microphones for what it is designed for. I would say even beyond karaoke use.

I would recommend this to a friend
