Easy to hookup. Stylus / Needle is installed so there is no set up {balancing tonearm setting tracking force, etc} required. The built in phono amp can be used with a switch on the back for amplifiers or receivers that do not have a phono input. Runs smoothly and quietly and cues records manually or automatically.. The attached cable with the rca plugs to connect to your receiver is about three feet long so if you cannot set the turntable close you will need to add an extension cable .

Bought as a replacement for my 1980's Technics

I wanted to play all those old LP's that had been packed away for years. My high end Technics turntable died . . . and no way was I going to break the bank going to that price range again. The Sony may not sound as good as the Technics did in the 80's but it seems to be filling my needs . . . . hearing great artists that I had almost forgotten about. Plugged and Played with little to no effort. Works well with my 1970's reciever/.amp. It is great to get more that you pay for sometimes.

This is a decent little turntable except that it doesn’t have too many options. The bad thing about it is that it has no locking clip or mechanism to restrain the needle arm assembly when it’s not in use, that’s my chief complaint. It only has something that you swivel in front of the needle to protect it in the event that the arm moves or jumps onto the turntable, ok but not the best system.

I was concerned about the sound quality on such an inexpensive turntable. Sound is excellent, tracks well, easy to use and very compatible with both computers and older stereo systems. Great for converting LP's to mp3 recordings. Delivery was quick and in excellent condition. Software: Auto feature for albums does not work well but is relatively easy to edit manually. Some difficulty getting Windows Media Player to recognize the recordings in the library.

With a solid preamp or stereo system, I can imagine this turntable being amazing. Right now, I've been too lazy to get it plugged into my home audio system, so I have (through a couple adapters) got it playing on my Bose Companion IIs. The volume is good for listening in a bedroom or with a friend in a small den. The audio quality, however, is amazing. And a gain, with a stereo system, volume would not be a problem. I had never put a record player together before, and the instructions made that as easy as I can imagine it being. Listening to record No. 3 right now.

I've had this record player for a few months now and have no complaints. I haven't tried connecting it to record to my computer. I open the dust shield, I put a record on it, I start it, I listen to music. It works... Only annoyance was that there is a guard on the needle (my guess is to protect it during shipping). I didn't see anything in the manual about it, but needless to say it took me a few minutes to figure out why I couldn't hear anything at first.

I picked this turntable up while it was on sale for under 100 bucks. It hooked up quickly and sounds great connected to my vintage Sony receiver. It is not a fancy one with anti-skate or pitch control, but it does exactly what I needed to do. It comes with an attached RCA cable and a built in preamp if your receiver doesn’t have a phone no input. It also comes with great software for digitizing all of your albums.

Christmas. 25 yr. old daughter wants to play LP's. Has no stereo system and minimum space. Sends home a picture of one of those all-in-one little suitcases. Bought one and it sounded worse than the boom box I bought her when she was 15 ! Bought this Sony turntable, which has it's own built-in pre-amp, and the Logitech Z323 powered speakers instead. Great combination for a compact system. Very good sound quality with depth. No sense in playing LP's if you can't at least get a sense of what they are capable of.

I dug out My old Albums from the 70's, & 80's, & they sounded great after all these years. The features that I liked best about this Sony Turntable were the Auto Play And Return. Hit the Start Button & the whole album plays, when done it returns to its arm rest & Shuts-off like they used to do back in the day. I had Returned 2 other lesser Brands that were Manual. Also, I was able to use Sony's program to send to my Music Library on my PC, which I was not able to do with the iTunes app from the Other brand.

Great replacement for a 30 year old turntable

I absolutely love the Sony - USB Stereo Turntable. I am using it with a 30 year old amplifier and stereo unit, only, not as a USB turntable so can not review that feature. It has great sound with my existing equipment, but the markings and controls are hard to read. I dislike the additional cost I had to pay for the "Geek Squad" to put it together for me, and that such service was not offered in store, so I could just "plug and play" as I did 30 years ago. I believe the fee was much too high for that service.

Bought this turntable on sale at BB for $79.95. Easy setup: you just have to put the drive belt onto the drive pulley, connect the turntable to your audio receiver (or not, if you don't want to do so, and just use its built-in amplifier and connect it directly to speakers). Very good sound quality, and an inexpensive, easy way to get into (or back into) vinyl. You can upgrade the stylus, but not the cartridge (it is built in to the tonearm). Nicely designed, and looks attractive with my stereo setup.

I don't get to use as much as I would like, but didn't expect it to quit after just a few records. I haven't used in a couple of months and today I put on a record and it played about 2 times the speed of the 33 rpm record. Thought I had the speed wrong so I changed and started over. This time it was about 4 times the speed. Checked the belt and it was fine. Also the tone arm comes down in the middle of the record and I have the size of the record selected correctly. Again I state it's a piece of JUNK. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY!!!

I got this SONY USB phonograph for Christmas to help me convert my albums to digital. It's Jan 8th and it's still not working on my computer either through USB connection or after I bought a PYLE PP555 pre-amp from BestBuy as suggested on the instructions. Those same installation instructions knocked out all sound out of my computer until I meticulously re-set my control panel settings. I'm sure this phonograph may work for some but so far for me it's a waste of money and time. VERY Disappointed!

This turntable comes under a few manufacturer's names. Sony, Audio Technica, Pioneer among others. It does what it is supposed to do with an excellent generic Audio Technica cartridge. I usually go for the more expensive brands just for their reputation and Sony is always on the upper tier. It was inexpensive and somewhat simple but it works well and my vinyl sounds fantastic. We lost the appreciation for analog sound when the convenience and promise of no wear and tear came along with CD's. To sum it up? Love It!

Very easy to setup, although instructions to assemble the turn table platter are a but ambiguous, it worked fine. Plugged right into a shelf boom box, playing records in minutes without a tuner/entertainment system. Haven't recorded records just yet, but I do know that the software can be tricky, so if you intend on doing it, this turntable and included software will do it, just be patient. Sound quality is very good, even into the boom box system.

Very easy instructions for putting together and hooking up to my component system. Have not tried to hook up to computer but plan to use with DAK system so I can burn the LPs to CD's as this system will burn individual tracks so that you can pick what songs you want to play instead of the whole album. Arm is light to the touch and would like to be able to change weight with counter balance but this system doesn't allow for that. Very happy with what I've got for a reasonable price.

I have been playing the turntable almost daily and can really say that within its price range it pretty much can't be beat. The little assembly that is required is rather simple and straight forward. The only negative is that the cables to connect to the turntable are permanently fixed to the turntable and are rather short so you must install pretty close to receiver.

My Benjamin Miracord turntable broke down (after 45 years of hard use) so I was in the market for a new turntable. This one fit my price range, although it makes me miss my old table, which was spotted in "Conjuring 2.". Some of my records skip on this turntable when they didn't on my old one, which also had a new stylus. No anti-skating device (that I'm aware of.) Also, no adjustable tracking weight. This one will keep me going until I can get my old turntable repaired.

The set up for this turntable could have been explained better in the setup manual. There is a switch on the back that changes the input that caused a few hours of frustration. Customers need to know that an amplifier is required that you may or not already have. Our other systems were not compatible. Once the amplifier, a sound bar, was connected and the switch was put in the correct position, the turntable worked well.

This record player is well worth the price. I managed to get it on sale for 89.99 and it was definitely worth the price. It sounds great and is an amazing player. There are some short comings in the way of the cords. The AC cord and the Audio cords are connected and rather short so if you want to keep it some distance, even as short at 3 ft, from the record player it will require some extra cords. Outside of that small issues I would recommend this player to any and everyone.
