    Great Record Player for anyone!!!!

This record player is well worth the price. I managed to get it on sale for 89.99 and it was definitely worth the price. It sounds great and is an amazing player. There are some short comings in the way of the cords. The AC cord and the Audio cords are connected and rather short so if you want to keep it some distance, even as short at 3 ft, from the record player it will require some extra cords. Outside of that small issues I would recommend this player to any and everyone.

A friend recently got me into collecting vinyl. I spent a good time looking around and while I wanted to get an Audio Technica turntable as those had received good reviews, I ended up purchasing this Sony turntable. It's a bonehead simple turntable with some limitations. Only offers two speeds Cartridge cannot be changed, but needle can be. RCA cables are hardwired, so you would have to do some work to replace them. It does what I need it to do which is to play records.

I specifically asked the sales associate for "a record player for a 15 year old girl who was just getting into vinyl". Wasn't advised that an amplifier and speakers were needed in order to use it. Luckily my husband has an amplifier hooked to our TV and we were able to try it out and the quality is great but she wanted it in her room so now instead of a $99 gift I have to buy an amplifier and speakers to go with it. I wasn't happy that more information wasn't given at the time of purchase.

Best Buy might do well to get just a few high-tech turntables into the store. I grabbed this cheap Sony, thinking that my new receiver would compensate for it. It doesn't work that way anymore. I'm stuck with the Sony, and must buy a much more expensive turntable, AND some kind of amplifying box that costs about $200 along with $400 for a decent turntable. This aspect of the $6500 some-odd dollars I just spent for a good home theatre, has turned into a real can of worms, and has really soured the whole deal.

Bought this so I could convert my parent's old albums into digital for them. Works great with my Windows 10 PC, took a little work to set the defaults in the sounds settings but if you've changed them before, it'll be a snap. Once done there, I plugged in to my Onkyo receiver and can now play all these old albums and they sound great. My only con is the tone arm could be weighted.

Just getting back into vinyl. This had good reviews and was cheaper than most. It works very well and sounds great. Only two criticisms. The a/v cord in back is very short and does not detach. I suppose I could bridge it with another cord. Also I remember back in the day you could stack a bunch of records on the post and listen for hours. This model does not have that feature. I'm sure these features cost more so I'm happy with this beginner player for now.

Since I already own this I wanted to buy one for my sister. Bought this open box and then felt insulted. Shipped to my home with hinges broken on cover, missing the adapter for smaller records, and the final insult no needle, not even the housing for the needle. Open box is supposed to be certified? Returning. Just can't believe someone packed this in a box and sent to my home. The record player itself is a great unit- just not open box from Best Buy I guess.

Just installed the record player to my surround sound. Sounds good for the price. A buddy has the same model and purchased the pre amplifier in addition to the one installed. He recommended using the additional amp. I will try that and see if it helps with extra sound and to clean up fine if the distortion from the higher volume it’s being played at.

This is my second Sony USB Turntable that I purchased. I use it to convert vinyl to digital files. I don't use the included software as it seemed a bit complex for me so I use other software that I purchased. I've done over 25 conversions with the new turntable and no problems at all. The other one I have and still use I've had for over 4-5yrs and heavy use and needle works just as if brand new. Hoping the new one holds up long time as well.

This turntable is good for anyone except perhaps a very serious audiophile. Price is reasonable, product was delivered promptly and in good condition, set-up and connection to my older Bose AM/FM/CD system was easy, and it's great to hear my old LPs with better sound quality than I had when they were new. My turntable is only a couple weeks old, so I can't speak to it's durability, but I expect years of use with perhaps just a belt replacement occasionally.

Player works better than expected. Program for converting LP's to digital is very easy to use. Could do a better job of doing restoration but acceptable. Labeling of tracts difficult to edit if you make a mistake. Downloded MP3Tag fee program to correct some of my mistakes. Processed (75) +- 45's in 5 days Happy with results. Going to spend some time reviewing the instruction before I start on my LP collection to see if I can inprove the restoration quality.

This is my second turntable I purchases to transfer my vinyls to CDs. the first one I purchased, the sound quality was horrible so I returned it. This Sony has great sound quality. I am a novice at editing music so it took a while to figure out how do to the tracks, etc. The directions are a little hard to understand, but I did call customer service and they answered a basic question. Got the shipping box, inventoried the contents - all there. Misplaced the bag containing the software including the turntable manual and audio software, went back to Best Buy for help: they gave me a Sony Support website. Website responded after several delays. Ir responded with a place to get a replacement manual (PDF). After 15 days, have not got the manual yet. Need it to locate a source for the audio software,

Bought this for my boyfriend who has an extensive album collection that he hasn't heard in years! Surprise!!! He hasn't played a CD since we brought this home! He's concerned about the durability over time.. but we shall see how that plays out! Loves the dust cover as an extra precaution. Loves the fact that he can play "true vinyl" again. "Nothing like playing an album"

When my kids turned to me perplexed and said, Mom, what’s a record player”, I told them to get their shoes on so we could go buy one... the rest is history. My girls now know the nastalgic and correct way to listen to music. They are 1st graders and easily understood how to operate this Sony turntable the 1st time. Now, the record player is a hit with all their tiny friends.

Great basic turntable. Has built-in preamp so you can use it with any amp or powered speakers. Caution: The USB connection of the turntable was a disappointment. It seems not to have been updated for current computers with 64 bit systems. Using Windows 10, I could NOT get it it to make a digital recording of an album and I'm somewhat familiar with computers. I didn't buy it to make digital copies, but it would be nice if it was possible.

Have been slowly copying a stack of old LP's to digital format using a turntable and amplifier from the 1970's Upgrading to this turntable was a worthwhile investment. Heck, just a new cartridge for my old one would be almost as much. This Sony turntable is well constructed and functions just the way it should. Primarily been using the USB output. Did not install the included software. Prefer the software I have been using, VinylStudio.

This is the same turntable as the Audio-Technica plus USB. Exactly the same, other than the rubber sheet has different Logo, and the needle guard flips away rather than come off. This includes the recording program, which is Sony's version of Matrix. When you click on support, goes to Matrix. If you want the program, and the USB, then get this. Otherwise use the line-out and Audicity and get the Audio-Technica

If you're the kind of person who enjoys records and you don't have thousands of dollar to invest in a non belt drive, and the stereo system to go with it, this is a great alternative. it wont break the bank and it will play the records at the correct speed without slowing down or speeding up which Ive heard can happen on the cheaper models

We wanted a turntable to begin listening to our old LP's that we've had sitting in a storage box for years. What a great buy, and fun to listen to vinyl again. The sound is more "rich" than digital. The option to attach to the computer to download LP's into a digital file, however, was not easy and seemed more difficult than necessary. I'm sure I could have figured it out, but since we really wanted the turntable to listen to LP's, the product works just fine.
