A nice way to listen to your music.
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This Walkman was a pretty awesome purchase. I picked it up wanting to have a smaller, more personal way to listen to music and honestly I wasn’t disappointed. It plays basically any file type under the sun, it’s small and durable, it’s battery lasts forever and most importantly it sounds great. You won’t notice as much of a difference over bluetooth but it really is a step up over the sound quality you get on Spotify. I think the one downside is that it’s pretty rigid in terms of sorting and menus, there’s no feature like a queue and it won’t sort by specific parameters, which is a problem when a lot of files are organized by 3 or 4 different artists or names. I also found that the menus would run a little weird after you add a ton of music, though not terribly. But ultimately, for this price, I think the bump in audio quality is worth it and it’s just such a nice little thing to have. Get some stuff off Bandcamp, it’ll sound great.

Sony No Baloney
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sony has really kicked up the ante with this well-made Walkman. Easy to use and coupled with the Sony Music Center this has been a simple joy to use. 256 GB card carries most of my tunes in either Hi-Res or DSEE HX which, btw, really increases the listening experience. Use one of my hot stuff cordless or the Sony wireless for hours of listening Fun Fact--My Walkmans from the early 2000s are still functioning without issue. I expect the same here

Bluetooth issues.
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I liked everything about this Sony Walkman, the sound quality was excellent also the battery life, interface wasn't that bad either. One thing that was a deal breaker was the bluetooth didn't work on any of my speakers. I ended up returning it, but I would have kept the Walkman if the bluetooth worked. I will probably try another model.

Great player
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Decided to get this over diffrent brands and diffrent models. I have never had a ipod of any other dap I have always used my phone and boy have I been missimg out on the rich sounds produced by this device. Battery life is great, that is why I chose this device over the nwa105. Sound is amazing It is light weight The sony music program is not that great but you dont have to use it. Seen people complaining about not having headphones. If this unit came with headphones it would cost an addational $200. I would recomment this to everyone.

Decent
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Overall sound is good and it's small and sleek that's easy to hold. But I'm picky with sound quality and didn't feel like it was a big upgrade over my s7 which is what I expected from a dedicated player. Actually prefer the smoother and easier sound I get from my s7. Really wanted to like it because of the battery life and my experience with their older mp3 player but in the end decided not to keep it. I may need to try their higher end models.

Sony name which has always been good to me
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I absolutely love this MP3 player I had one before and I lost it because it was so smalle and it was the NWA45 series. It went on sale last year around Christmas time for $50 less and I didn't take advantage of it so I lost out. But this year it went on sale for $50 less and it was the newer model which is the NWA50don't really see any difference except that newer technology I guess it works totally OK a the sound quality is amazing it has a lot of memory and I've already added a couple of playlists in their. It would be nice if it came with some type of carrying case or Clip on my shirt or a carrying case on a lanyard but other than that I absolutely love this thing It has Sony as its name and Sony has always been high quality stuff. This is the 4th Sony walkman that I have owned, 2 of them were CD players and now with technology the way it is 2 of them were MP3 players. I definitely recommend to a friend. The only thing is I don't know why the headphone is on the bottom that kinda is funny to me but it doesn't matter this thing is extremely high quality stuff

Solid product, I highly recommend
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a solid product, well built, and well designed. The software allows for the importing of your music in-place and allows for the easy creation of playlists. Sony's Music Center even imports from CDs...if you still remember what those are. You can also install a microSD card and load tons of music. If you miss the days of the iPod, this is the best replacement I've found.

A Dedicated Music Playing Machine
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This is a dedicated music playing machine. Everything about it seems to have been built for the pure enjoyment of sound. It feels solid, looks sleek, operates with ease and speed. This is my replacement device for listening to music since I got away from smartphones. So glad to have this gorgeous piece of technology that doesn't demand my attention. It just gives me music, wonderfully.

Very Good Player, OS is Disappointing
||Posted . Owned for less than 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Very good player, taken aback only by its poor interface and recognition of tags on songs. The sound is great, especially compared to any phone. Music sounds good and a lot of different equalizer and sound processor options let you find the best tune. Only issue is that the tags and albums aren’t always recognized, so you often have to go and fix things manually (on pc). Other than that, all good.

Enjoy my new player
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Really love the FM Radio on this version despite having to use my wired beats headphones. When I go for walks love the ability of this model to use my wireless headsets. Also love the many fine tuning I can perform regarding to the sound down to the equalizer feature, ability to set the sound to sound like a vinyl record. Enjoy the expandable memory right now using the 256g Sd card. Love how the album covers come up on the display while the music is playing . In addition the touch screen makes for easy and smooth navigation with the touch screen.

Sony Walkman NW-A55
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I bought this Sony Walkman NW-A55 player due mostly positive reviews. I purchased a 128gb card to increase storage. It was a little complicated initially to set up, but worked through it. I downloaded most of the playlists I have stored on my computer hard drive. The are recorded as wav files. I used a wired connection with my Sony 1AM2 headphones and the sound quality is excellent. Overall, very happy with my purchase.

Pricey but excellent music player
||Posted . Owned for 2 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. At the place that I currently work at right now, there are strict security guidelines, and having an unauthorized cellphones can get you in trouble if you are using one. So I bought this music player because it doesn't have a camera or a microphone. I've been using Samsung phones previously my whole life to satisfy my music needs, so how does this product hold up? So this music player uses it's own proprietary OS on this device. "Sony original OS" as it's called on their official product website. So it has a very nice "battery save" feature that prevents the device from charging past 90% in an attempt to make the battery last longer which I use. I'm glad the thought even a bit ahead of time to make this device last long and add in a measure to prevent the battery from frying from overcharge. However, the OS on this device is, well , slow compared to the Android OS. If you are used to playing music from a Smartphone from someone like Apple or Samsung, then the UI in this device will be slow to you. It's actually not slow like minutes slow, but it can take at most 3-4 for some things to appear like large music albums or large lists of albums available to play if you have imported tons of music onto this thing. But I got used to it over time, and I think that anyone willing to try to put up with the response time of this device for at least a week will get used to its UI speed and be able to use it no problem. As far as audio quality goes, because it is advertised as a high-resolution audio product, it is as good as my desktop computer with a desktop DAC. If plug in my headphones from my computer's external DAC into this music player, I will be able to hear pretty much the same quality of audio from this music player. I think that this small device plays music with great audio quality since it I can listen to audio from my computer without any noticeable distortions or missing parts to music I play. If you have some high resolution audio headphones you might have trouble driving it cause it's a portable music player that's using a small battery to drive headphones but something like smaller headphones and earbuds should have no problem sounding loud and clear. As for battery life with this device, it can last me a whole day with this device on and playing music, even on bluetooth. The official numbers of the battery life are available here: https://helpguide.sony.net/dmp/nwa50/v1/en/contents/TP0002342893.html I think that while this product is a little expensive compared to other music players, the features, functionality and battery life of this device justify the price of this product. I have brought out this product everyday for work and every time I go working out. The small size of this device mixed with it's bluetooth functionality and it's audio quality make it practically a fool proof way of listening to music independent of the internet or without a bulky phone.

Simply the Best
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. The sound quality is excellent especially when paired with either the Sony M3 headphones or the Sony xb31 portable speaker. The device is very user friendly and pairs quickly with everything I have tried. The screen is easy to read, The interface is peppy, smooth, well organized, and the text and album art are crisp and clear. It's a pleasure to use and navigate.

I give up
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Easy to load music onto, and pretty good sound quality. The part where I went to add my Sony Bluetooth earbuds and/or my Bose headphones, still no luck and it's been well over a month. I give up. I have watched all of the how to videos and read the directions, restarted both the headphones and the player, still won't recognize the headphones. The only thing that has ever come up to connect to is my stupid LG sound bar :-( I don't have the time or patience to keep monkeying around with this "technology". Now I am just using it in my car, connected with a wire, no Bluetooth there either.

Ok, with some shortcomings
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Good sound with high-end, wired headphones. For wireless headphones, volume not very loud. Menu system is a clunky, UI needs some work. Still looking for a replacement for my old iPod nano’s, close, but not quite

Amazing sound from a tiny device!
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This product is nothing short of amazing. I have a vast library of music from all genres and am always seeking better sound quality. This device breathed new life into my Master Dynamic MW-60 headphones and drew out the capabilities of them. Extremely clear Bass, Treble and Midrange. It draws out and defines every instrument and the vocals for a pure studio sound. Will test it in my car today.

Interesting Device...
||Posted . Owned for more than 2 years when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These days, having a dedicated music device doesn't seem very intuitive, but I guess I'm old-fashioned. I wanted to get an mp3 player after losing Google Music and found this one for a reasonable price (I believe it was on sale at the time). Positives: transferring my music to this mp3 player was as easy as dragging and dropping. Most of the songs, podcasts, etc. played without issues. Speaking of playback, the options for playing music is what you'd normally expect for an mp3 player: repeat, shuffle, playlist, genre. The interface was good not great, but not overly complicated or cluttered. Negatives: this may be through my own mistakes, but a majority of my songs repeated in the transition process, causing me to have doubled copies and taking up unnecessary space on the player. The player doesn't really have an option to choose similar songs to the ones played and it can be a chore to navigate through at times. Other than that, no complaints. Pretty substantial mp3 player.
