Although they fit my ears, I wish they offered bigger earbuds, especially for my right ear canal, which is slightly larger than the large-sized earbuds provided. It would be great if the manufacturer could consider adding more size options to cater to a broader range of ear shapes and sizes. After having several Beats, AirPods Pro, Bose and Samsung buds i bought these. Sony WH1000XM4 in silver. I work in a loud Shop and I was looking for something that had great noise cancellation. I listen to music, audiobooks, movies, all day, 8+ hrs a day. The sound is nice, all the settings in the app to adjust specifically to what you’re listening to is a nice option . The noise cancelling is good. But the darn fitting of these in my ear is so PAINFUL , i can’t hardly stand it!! They’re too big and stretches out the inside of the earlobe. It’s been 3 days of wearing these and i can’t take it anymore. My ears are so sore. I thought i would get used to the pain but i just can’t. They would be near perfect otherwise, besides the foam ear tips which after reading other reviewers it seems they would give out in a month or two, just not a good fit for me. Shame . Was expecting more from Sony.

Great pair of in ear headphones. The sound quality and noise cancelling is on par with some of the best competitors, namely the apple airpods pro. When I first got the headphones I paid the premium of a new product and I was happy with my purchase. But eventually there was an issue with the software on the headphones that caused them to overheat and drain battery life in about 1 hour. I could only use one headphone at a time because the left one got too hot in my ear. To resolve this I had to manually install an older version on the software on them and it fixed the overheating. But the charge capacity never came back, it still only lasts 2 hours at most. For me since I'm not a power user that uses them all day it's fine. You need to keep the case very clean because if there is even a bit of dust or debris on the charging pads then good luck charging. Would I pay $300 for these headphones again? No, but if there was a good sale on them I would go ahead and purchase they aren't bad and the software issues have been fixed.

These are by far the best earbuds Ive purchased. They are so comfortable i forget they are in my ears after a call. Music sounds great with these ear buds. Extremely long battery life!

I am thoroughly pleased with the sound quality and noise cancellation on these buds. These were purchased to replace my discontinued Samsung Galaxy Buds+. I can say I love these buds and all the features. The only con that I can say about these buds are the fact that you have to rely on the foam tips for the buds to fit snug in your ear. I doubt you'd be able to wear these buds while working out without constantly repositioning them because there is no other support to secure the buds in your ear.

If you wear your headphones regularly then these are worth the cost. The noise cancelling is impressive and the sound quality paired with the app is very customizable and high quality. When these headphones eventually die I will buy another pair of whatever the next model is. They don't stay in during a run very well, but that might just be me.

I bought these XM-4 today after reading and believing all the hype from the reviews. I am RETURNING them tomorrow, I previously bought the Jabra Elite 85T and can attest the superiority of those in sound and these are very clear when talking as well. I found the Sony to be good earbuds but there is NO WAY you can wear them for long periods of time. The Jabra Elite 85t are not only comfortable, but they are low profile, less bulky, sound amazingly well balanced. I don't mind that they last less in terms of time usage. In addition, the Jabra app is incredibly well designed. Prior to this, I have never owned a Jabra product or knew about them. I can definitely say that I am a fan from now on. Thank you Jabra.

I got these towards the end of them never going on sell or selling at discounted prices, and they are honestly so good, I'm not even mad. I'm lucky enough to get to wear them at work, so its just one ear at a time, and swapping them out in the case easily gets through the day, the fact that they stop playing and just open themselves up to outside noise when you start talking is pretty awesome, and using them while on a riding mower does wonders for cutting down the noise. Plus wireless charging the case is nice.

After using the wf1000xm4 earbuds for a month, these are easily my favorite wireless earbuds. The sound, features, and comfort are all fantastic. At the price of $280 I was skeptical, but they delivered what I wanted, especially the bass.

The airbuds are quite good snd fit my tests well, but it is not for everyone. First it has a quite tight fit, loud but not as much as I would like. The app interface and usability is impeccable I liked it very much. If it were a little smaller I would have given it full points.

I have had a number of headphones and these are very good. The headphones are supposed to be capable of each being able to independently connect to bluetooth. Mine didnt work independently at first but soon began to work. I appreciate that the app is constantly updating features. I do wish it had dual buttons and independent buttons like the samsungs. The sound quality is noticeably quieter than the beats and samsungs ive had but better than my Jabra. Im concerened this may be because of throttling brought about through affiliate marketing from free trials of the 3d sound feature. Im not into the 3d sound, but you may be if you prefer an open space auditorium like sound. The headphone inserts are made of foam and do a good seal. These headphones also feature a feature that will automatically pause your program if you speak. They also feature voice pass through on the ambient sound settings.

It's no real secret that a pair of earphones needs to fit extremely well and be completely sealed in your ears. Yet somehow on these very expensive Sony flagships, they only include three foam ear tip sets small medium and large. None of them fit my ears. I seriously considered returning these because they just weren't performing well. Without a good seal there is almost no bass and the high end features like noise cancellation and ambient sound certainly don't work at all the way they're supposed to. Also the buds are more likely to fall out if they're not well fitted. Would it kill you Sony to include some extra large and extra small tips as well as some regular rubber flange type tips? These bits cost next to nothing! It's ridiculous to think that there are only three sizes of ears out there. I doubt if anyone would return these if they could get them to fit in their ears well. I ended up trying some rubber flanges from some other extremely cheap earbuds I have and those tips fit far better than anything Sony included. Now, when you get a good seal in your ears these do some nice things. The noise cancellation works very well on low end rumbling rustling sounds. It doesn't work very well on high pitch sounds but the sealed ear tips block most of that anyway. What's really interesting is the ambient mode, where it continues to block some of that low frequency noise and allows you to hear things going on around you. You could wear them this way all day long and talk to people in be safe outside in traffic, and they still sound good on music. One big frustration is the continued lack of multipoint Bluetooth on these, Even though Sony announced months ago that they would bring the feature. Most of us have multiple devices we switch to and multi-point would be a huge selling point, especially on these extremely expensive units in 2023. I for one am listening to these on my S22 phone but typing this on my Samsung tablet. Another gripe is the touch control setup You can change the attributes of left and right bud taps separately but you can't mix and match features. So for instance if you want to control volume, switch between ambient\noise reduction, use Google Assistant, and also use play\pause you cannot do all those things. Even though there are more than enough touch combinations to do probably 8 things at once if you wanted to. There is a convenient widget on Android but you can't assign what the widget can do. You can see what the battery levels are turn adaptive sound control on or off and switch equalizer settings, none of which I find useful. Finally I have to say that all the requests to sign in and sign up for stuff makes setting up these things in the software a much much longer and more tedious process than it ought to be. I recently bought a $16 pair of wireless earbuds for my son and they sound nearly as good as these Sony's, have simple rubber ear tips that fit me, seal up and block a lot of sound without fancy noise reduction, and have volume control and play pause. When I think that I could buy like 15 SETS like that for the cost of the Sony's I think maybe I'm kind of insane for keeping them. Plus I'm having to shell out for some aftermarket ear tips that cost about the same amount of money as these cheap earbuds all in! Yoiks.

Sound is phenomenal after some EQ tweaks and App customizations. The quality of the buds themselves are great, the case however... feels cheap. It really does, for an item that is $279 + tax... you would expect something more premium. Well all that to say one thing... I may be returning this not because it lacks something - but because they do not fit my ears - after 20 minutes ear aches! tried the tips included, tried 3rd party ones and yet I could not find a comfortable fit. Sorry Sony - I really wanted these to be my go to... but no :( i continue my endless journey of the next best TWS set.

Hello all, I purchased these after owning both models of the Jaybird vista's for a few years and i am loving them even with the minor imperfections. Pros: • great sound and customizable equalization. • app is easy to navigate • noise cancellation is great not excellent • battery life has been great so far better than the jaybirds • i like that the earbuds are smart and smoothly transition from anything thing you are listening to Youtube, music player, netflix, bluetooth in your vehicle and etc no hiccups Cons: • Not fully water resistant! Not submersible in water. However, sweat is okay or rain drops and splasges etc • ear tips wear quickly and be careful when cleaning them. I bought the other tips in picture and love it • no volume control but sounds good i wonder if this can be tweaked in an update to firmware in the app ...hmmm • light weight but at first kinda hurts ear canals but in time pain goes and the buds feel good. In all I prefer them to the jaybirds and am glad i changed There are more improvements sony could make. But, i am satisfied with my purchase.

These earbuds sound great, are comfortable, and actually stay in my ears! I take a loud NYC bus to work everyday and these block out all the noise. The avtive mode is great it someone is trying to speak to me. Makes it spund like im not even wearing ear buds. I reccommend these if you're looking for great sound, comfort, and added features.

Pros: Best noice cancelling I've ever tried. Loud, clear sound. Pairs seemlessly using bluetooth and easily swaps between devices. Case holds a good amount of charge and batteries last quite a while. High quality app to control different modes for active noise cancelling depending on where you are and how fast you are moving. Can use just one earbud at a time. Cons: A bit more bulky than Airpod Pros. Can't comfortably lay on your side on a pillow while wearing them. The lid on the case feels like it could easily break. Other: These are expensive compared to other earbuds, but I would not list this as a con. "You get what you pay for" as they say. These are the best earbuds I've ever tried. The active noise cancelling technology is so good that it's more than worth the difference in price compared to other brands. I took off one star in the value category just because the quality to price ratio isn't oustanding, but it's not bad either. The quality of the earbuds is excellent and they swap between devices easily and the app works well. Definitely easy to use.

I am very technical person and this Sony XM4 give an outstanding sound quality as intended by the artist. And the noise canceling it a superb blocks all surrounding sounds which allows you to feel in a private studio. Fitting is great while using them but at the moment you take them off you will feel a relieved of pressure in you ear canal. That pressure sensation will be gone in a minute. it supports 360 Reality audio, Dolby Atmos, LDAC quality if your source provides it. Download its app at you get adaptive functions to your behavior and location. And it supports two devices connected at the same time. So you like to hear music in it's pristine quality buy them eyes closed.

These finally came in today after ordering on Monday, and wow, worth the wait. Super comfortable as they fit my ears quite well, and with a little eq tweaking they sound amazing. The ANC works eerily well, as when you turn it on, its like the world goes away. Ive mainly been using the ambient setting with my kids around, and its nice being able to still hear the world around me and with a quick 1 tap, can pause my podcast to talk to the kids. I was doing dishes tonight, and turned on the ANC and the sink noise disappeared, never had ANC before so was freaky. They are expensive, but a huge upgrade over my Airpod gen 2s, and worth every penny. And they take up just about as much pocket space, so another great feature. My only small gripe is a use one bud at a time a lot, and having to turn off voice assistant to be able to do that is kind of a letdown, but seems like something that could be updated in the future.

I am very picky when it comes to earbuds. I picked there up and I used them with an IPhone 12 Pro. These earbuds are great on many ways, battery life and comfort, and sound stage. You can use iTunes lossless audio to really bring out the the detail in your music. They are not as bass heavy as the Jabra 75t’s, but your will hear things in your music you never noticed before. Also they do not automatically switch from device to device. If you choose not use the voice assistant it’s as easy as clicking connect in the app and it switches really fast. These also connect way faster than the Senhizer Momentum 2. You can use both earbuds work independently. The noise canceling is also top tier. I highly recommend these earbuds if you can find them. I did switch out the earbud tips with spinfits. I particularly don’t like foam earbud tips.

Software is terrific compared the the B&W IP7 though I don't really like the ambient sound mode. It kinda loud but noise cancelation is excellent. If you work in noise environments, I suggest using ambient sound off. To be honest working in a super noisy environment, i would no recommend buying a high end headphone. Noise cancelation can be deafening when using an air gun. Sound is super but still 2nd to B&W. Would have kept the B&W for the superb sound quality but the software was terrible. Would definitely recommend this. A bit pricey but worth it. Sony went with the foam instead of rubber is a plus for comforth but one side is little bit ripped so durability on the foam was the reason for 4*.
