Stock tips didn’t work for me (wonky ears)-but tried a cpl different tips. Spinfit CP360 ($10-$12?) did the trick. Extremely happy I stuck with them; new tips literally transformed the sound & feel. Well worth the journey and I brought back Bose QC II’s to get these! Noise cancellation? Meh- but everything else is perfect.

But what I love the most is the sound quality from the crazy bass to the clear voice. Also, the option to talk with both EarPods, the right one or the left one. Oh and the option to gradually choose how much ambient sound you actually want to cancel.

Solid headphones but not perfect for me
||Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Pretty good headphones out of all of my other headphones they have the best ANC ( in comparison to the Wf-100xm3 and Wf-SP800n Air Pods don’t even compare…) would get a 5, but I have smaller ears and the left bud causes discomfort after extended use. Wish they were as comfortable as the Wf- Sp800n, but excellent headphones none the less. Really pricy 280 is a steep price would wait for them to go on sale if I could do it again

Best pair of ear buds I've experienced

The only real problem that I've had with these was the ear tips, they just didn't fit too well in my ears and started to get really uncomfortable after using these for a long period of time. But once I switched them out for silicon ear tips that problem was resolved (Doing this didn't really change the quality of the music or noise cancellation in my opinion. I had a way better experience with silicon ear tips than I did with the foam ones). Also, I own a pair of Sony WH-1000XM4 over-ear headphones and these honestly sound very similar to those if not better in terms of sound quality. It sucks that I had to switch out the ear tips on a pair of 300 dollar earbuds, but despite having to do that I still think these are well worth the money.

I originally owned the AirPod pros I got these and I went to the store and picked up Bose quiet comfort earbuds the same day just to compare them ended up returning the bose the Sony sound better the active noise canceling was comparable between the two. only small thing that I do not like is the foam tips included in the packaging but luckily you can use standard silicone tips from spin fit or from other Sony earbuds and the active noise canceling still works in my opinion just as well. I went into the store to try the headphone XM4 and compare them to the and in my opinion it was very hard to tell the difference they were extremely comparable which I think is incredible given the portability and the size Fantastic headphones

Love the auto stop when I am need to talk to people. The ambiance mode work great. It help me focus at my work place. Only con is when I wear more then 1 hour my ear start getting uncomfortable. Then I will need to take off for about 15 mins for rest. But this is not a break point for my use.

The sound is rich and immersive. The fit is really nice—3 sizes of foam/gel inserts make it much easier to get that snug fit you need. The app lets you tweak the sound to your liking (hello Bose? Are you listening?). I tried all the fancy auto settings that detect your movement and voice but I ended up shutting them all off because for me they were too intrusive. Battery life is great. The included charging case is well made and small so you’ll actually bring it along with you. Build quality appears to be really high too. I also own Airpod Pros and these new Sonys are a full step up in sound output. Highly recommend if the price doesn’t throw you for a loop (they’re totally worth it).

Almost everything from looks to performance and everything in between is just great about them. The redesigned look from the XM3 to the XM4 is a welcome look. Packaging =============== Inside the recycled materials box houses the buds, charging case, additional tips, USB C cable and the usual literature. Case is nice and sturdy and looks sleek. Magnets holding in the buds themselves are STRONG. I doubt even dropping them from a short distance would even separate the buds and case. Performance =============== Sound is amazing. That's it. Go buy them. Short story longer, Highs are not distorted when raising the volume to crazy levels, mids are clear and the bass bumps. Using the app gives you quite a few EQ setting if you wish to use presets. Even up to 3 custom as well. I do my own custom settings as I know what I like for me and the music is perfect. Fitting - as in the buds themselves is where people will vary. The medium tips were my go-to. I suggest constantly twisting them into your ear as much as you can for a tight seal. Tips themselves are a polyurethane foam material. You can squish em as much as you want and will always expand back to their original size. So once you put them in your ear, they will start to expand again to fill in the gaps to ensure a great fit and little to no noise either leaks or sneaks in. ANC =============== Because of the tips, these XM4's are the BEST noise canceling buds I have tried hands down. Samsung Pros, B&W, Jabra, etc don't even compete in this category. Using the left bud will activate ANC or Pass Through. APP =============== I already had the app as I own Sony's BT speakers. Found and paired the buds with no issue. Once connected, it starts going through setup with personalizing your ears, 360 Audio (really sweet btw) and lets you use the EQ presets. Others =============== Battery life is just as good as others out there. I went a whole 8-5 (minus lunch break) without the need to charge them. Mind you, I did take them out a couple of times because of the tips themselves were making my ears a little warm so I just gave them a break. With a fully charged case, you can enjoy music/movies/steams easily the whole day albeit a shorter life if you turn on ANC. Case can also be wirelessly charged. IPX4 rating resists a little water or sweat with ease, so going out doing your thing or the gym is no match for the MX4's. I'll say it again, Sony hit it out of the ballpark with the XM4. The price tag easily is worth it weight. Anyone in the market would benefit on how amazing these are.

Sound quality, separation all sound really crisp and clear. Hands down the best ANC on the market. Passthrough is very clear and seemly no white noise. The ONLY con I have with these and ultimately led to me returning is; the bass has 0 increase on the last 3 volume levels. I understand this to fall within a safety feature, but these just can't reach the volume/bass levels I want.
