That's why it's 4 stars. But I did not play around with the EQ on the app, just leave it 'off' Also, the tip kind of hurt my ear a bit. Sony decided to use the foam type and it might be why. Could be different for someone else. Noise cancellation works really good. It is on the pricey side but the sound quality is worthed.

We're sorry to hear that you have an issue with your SONY unit. Change the earbud tips to ones that fit more snugly in your ears. When changing the earbud tips, try the earbud tip sizes in order from the larger ones to the smaller ones. The size of the left and right earbud tips may be different. These earbuds are definitely more on the premium side but they are well worth the money thanks to the amazing noise cancelling and comfortable ear tips. Even in the middle of a busy subway I can barely hear the people around me and that's just because the song I'm listening to has a pause or silence. Overall, S-tier product and I would recommend these to anyone whose looking for good earbuds, especially when it's on sale.

They worked great and sounded great and now I use the wf-1000xm5

However, after a while of use will get worn down and need to be replaced.

Owned for 1 month when reviewed.This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.The sound isolation and ambient noise functions can often be bothersome if there is a sudden and jarring change (i.e sudden gust of wind, person talking to you after a long period of silence, sudden loud vehicle, etc) but it has the capability to block out or let in the general white noise of life well. They fit in my ears very well though they require periodic adjustment while running. The battery life is phenomenal to the point where I have often forgotten that they need to be charged at all. There is a reason these are the highest rated on the market, they hit high marks on everything, but I would only rate them 5 stars if they were at the $200 mark that I purchased them at on sale. At the $280 pricepoint, they feel a bit lackluster and the diminishing returns in cost begin to show.

The earbuds are great and the noise-cancelling is probably the best one you can get in earbuds. I'd still recommend earbuds with passive noise cancellation to avoid headache and other health issues. Best sound quality I have ever heard on an truly wireless earbuds. The noise cancellation is the best especially when compared to Air pods pro & galaxy buds+. Sound is on bass side however it can well balanced with slight changes to app. When compared to WH-1000XM3, noise cancellation is obviously better on headphones however, WF-1000XM4 does the job for their size. Foam felt slight weird initially but you'll get used to its feel. Over all the best true wireless in-ear headphones money can buy.

decent earbuds, but not life changing

I was really excited about the earbud version but it really didn’t live up to my expectations. The noice cancelling is great but my issue is the foam tips, very similar to that of the headphones. I am not a fan. You can’t really clean them, since you run the risk of the tips deteriorating. Sony suggests using water(?) but I would not consider that cleaning them.

Battery lasts all day at work, they pause whatever is playing when you take the earbuds out and they have far distance. Would and have bought again (second pair)

But, the foam tips that come with them are quite uncomfortable if you plan on wearing longer than a hour or two. Maybe it’s just me. Ended up buying silicone replacement tips and these are close to my favorite headphones now. In my opinion more comfortable than their over ear big brothers. But the noise canceling is not perfect. They don’t block as much as their big brothers or as much as AirPods Pro (they are miles more comfortable and sound better than the AirPods in my opinion though). If you have had any Sony headphones in the past and like their sound signature, you’ll likely love these. But be ready to order silicone ear tips. The app for Sony headphones is simple enough to use as well. Just takes a second to set up and normally won’t cause any issues (it’s not needed to use the headphones, it’s just a companion app for customization)

Expensive for a short term investment

The headphones still work and they work great but the case is failing so it doesn’t serve to store and charge the headphones back up. The charge is not holding for very long either. The sound quality is fantastic and noise canceling is a dream. Was inside a noisy gym and turning on noise cancelling killed nearly all the external sound and I hadn’t engaged music at that point. If they would make ot possible to service the case I might rate it higher but I don’t see any support for older headphones and the charging case. Connectivity is good. No issues there but don’t plan on swapping easily.
