They are right up there with Bose as far as sound and noise canceling. My son has the newest bose and I have compared them to each other. Honestly, I think the Sony have better bass. The battery life is through the roof amazing. Charged only one time and have used them on and off for 2 weeks now with still 60% battery life remaining. Bought mine on sale and with a few best buy points. They are amazing at a great price.

I compared this with bose quietcomfort 35ii for 2 weeks. I found the sound quality of sony slightly better than bose. Sony's bass is definetly heavier than bose. But the main area where they differ is the availability of gesture control on sony. It is very comfortable and effective. Also comfort wise bose was a little better but sony is not far behind. I returned bose and kept sony because it is a better product overall.

My first experience with Active Noise Canceling headphones was a pair of 2017 Sony MDR XB950N1’s. They were, and still are, a great set. The first time turning the ANC on was something I will never forget. Suddenly the HVAC unit and dishwasher were a gentle whisper i had to really struggle to hear. I’ve never experienced something like that and it made me laugh to myself at how incredible it was. however.... The ANC on the XB950N1’s is like a set of headphones that came with an original Walkman compared to the WH-1000XM3’s. These blow my old set out of the water (and at twice the price they should!!). My HVAC and dishwasher are TOTALLY GONE now. I’m not sure i have experienced this level of quiet in my natural surroundings before. Libraries aren’t this quiet... The woods aren’t this quiet... Maybe underwater in a pool by yourself might be this quiet. I bought the XB950N1’s for the ‘Extra Bass’ and boy they are still unmatched in that singular aspect. If you want to thump, I would humbly direct you to those. The ANC was a nice bonus as far as i was concerned. I purchased the XM3’s for the ANC and a more balanced soundstage. The sound quality is excellent here. I’m not an audio expert but they sound great and do lean a little towards the bass end of things. Not overpowering. There are plenty of reviews on the various features and controls. If you’re reading this, you probably know them. Long story short... these are the best ANC headphones you can buy. If you get a chance to try them out i would bet you’ll laugh to yourself at how incredible the experience is. World ON... World OFF.

I bought these headphones to replace my wired Marshall headphones because those headphones would get uncomfortable after awhile. Don't get me wrong, those headphones are still awesome sounding and have a sleek look conforming to your head really well. But I got tired of dealing with the uncomfortable feeling on my ears that I would get so I finally decided to look out for good set of wireless/wired headphones that would be comfortable after awhile. These are definitely a winner in that department for sure!!!! I also love that these headphones come with an app that allows you to control various settings including the noise cancelling affects and an Equalizer, which is awesome when you are listening to Hi-Fi music considering Hi-Fi music apps don't have their own EQ control. Additionally, if you use Tidal for streaming Hi-Fi music, then you definitely want to get these for sure because you can actually setup these headphones with the Tidal app to play music more efficiently and effectively for you to get the most out of your money! I have no regrets buying these headphones and if you are considering Beats, unless you really want style, I'd go with these instead. I feel like these definitely sound better by far and have a cleaner and more well rounded out sound compared to Beats. I highly recommend these headphones and if I were you, I would stop searching and pick these up now if you can afford them. If you can't afford these, the headphones one step down from these sound almost just as good!

I love the Sony headphones. The sound they provide is incredible. They are very comfortable to wear for hours. The touch panel controls work great.The noise canceling works better than I expected. Overall I am very happy with this product. They are pricey- but you get what you pay for. Sony has done a great job. I would recommend these headphones to anyone looking for a quality comfortable great sounding Bluetooth headphones.

I tested numerous headphones and earbuds at Best Buy and found these to be overall the most comfortable with the best sound. I was hoping they would keep the standard high as I was traveling and was using them heavily on the trip. They performed flawlessly and the battery life was awesome. The touch pad on the ear needs a little getting used to but overall I love these. Don’t hesitate when looking for a great pair of headphones.

Had the headphones for more than a month now. The noise cancellation works very well and the setup and use options are pretty intuitive. I wear them while working and really forget that they are on—I don’t notice the weight at all and no issues with being too hot or uncomfortable. The battery life has been good—I’ve been charging roughly once a week using it for many of my work hours five days a week. So far worth every penny.

My husband and I wanted to treat ourselves to new headphones and we tried all of the ones on display. As soon as I put on these, I realized that I couldn't feel that I was wearing headphones at all! Super light, love the sound, the noise cancelling is wonderful. The battery life is super long. I use them for about 3 hours per weekday during my commute--so 15 hours per week--and I can go 1.5 weeks without charging. Love love love.

There isn't really a point to adding to the numerous reviews except to say that the sound quality is excellent, the fit and comfort are outstanding and the quality of the noise cancelling is as good or better than Bose QuietComfort headphoness. The one thing that I WILL add is something very important to users looking to use these with a wired audio cable: * The port where the jack plugs into the headphone is NOT a standard fit. While it DOES take a standard 3.5mm jack, the physical port around the jack is narrow and shallow and does not allow a standard 3.5mm jack to fully seat, leading to horrible sound quality. If you plan to use these headphones plugged in with a longer audio cable, I HIGHLY recommend using the (ridiculously short) audio cable that comes with the headphones (that are designed to fit that port correctly) and adding an extension to it. This is what I do for my pc and it works great. Hope this helps.

I held off writing a review for this until I used them for about 6 months so far. I fly two to four times per month and use these on every flight. The noise cancelling sound quality and build quality is all excellent. I had a hard time deciding between these and the Bose and I'm glad of the choice I made. On some flights, I just turn the headphones on and listen to nothing - the noise cancelling feature blocks out all unwanted sound. Also, I'm surprised by how much I use the ambient sound feature. Using the app (which seems to get new features through updates pretty regularly) you're able to control how much "voice" you want to let through. So you can clearly hear what's being said over the loudspeaker or if someone talks to you. I can hear voices better with them on than when they are off! I don't use the touch controls too often, although sometimes I accidentally hit them and will skip to the next track. It's not that big of a deal and I bet I can turn off touch controls using the app, however I've felt no need to do that. I read some reviews about these not being the most comfortable, however I've had no issues with comfort and can wear for long periods of time. I've even fallen asleep with them on. I guess they can get a little warm, depending on the climate, but I think that would be the case with any over the ear headphone. After 6 months of travel use, they still look brand new. Overall these are a true premium travel headphone that I can't recommend enough!

These headphones were a personal splurge, and I don't regret it one bit. They are comfortable, hold a charge far longer than I expected, and the affiliated app has extensive options for sound customization. The noise-canceling feature is its best, and still offers excellent sound in quiet environments that don't require the noise-canceling microphones to be activated. Overall, great purchase.

I’ve had tons of different headphones. I went ahead and bought these and I’m so happy I did! I’be parted ways with all my other headphones. These are light, very comfortable and the charge they hold is incredible. The sound great! Best noise cancelling I’ve been able to find. You don’t feel underwater like other brands. The app is also great. You can chance sound location and sound setting. A great pair of headphones!

Excellent audio quality, light weight, comfortable

I needed these for a very noisy work environment. I really bought them for the noise canceling. When I tried them on I could not believe how incredible they work. When I put a little music on, total bliss. My only regret is I waited as long as I did to finally purchase these. Comfortable, work better then I expected. Sound better then I expected. I get a full day 10 hrs on a charge. 5 stars

Great sound, the best wireless noise canceling on the market, and extremely well engineered. The touch controls are extremely intuitive. All excelent materials. I can comfortably wear these headphones for hours on end. I have not experienced any issues with Bluetooth dropping. Overall 10/10

These are terrific headphones. I've used them with my PC and my phone. No connection problems, amazing noise cancellation, and great audio quality. I've used standard $25 earbuds forever. The first thing I did with these is listen to some of my favorite bands. Oh my goodness, what a massive differences. I heard nuances in the mix that I've never heard before. It was so amazing, I decided to drop what I was doing and just lay down on the couch and listen to a few albums. Pure bliss. The battery life on these is awesome, too. It took me about 50 hours to get down to 20% battery life, with noise cancelling on. Speaking of noise cancelling, I wore them while I was mowing the lawn last week and, while I could still hear the mower, it sounded more like someone a couple blocks away was mowing. Lastly, I used these for a zoom call and the microphone was also excellent. No problems connecting to the computer or making sure the headphones were the proper ones for the audio out and the mic. Just as easy as plugging something in. I highly recommend these to people looking for quality headphones that are versatile. I couldn't be happier with my purchase.

Used these headphones the entire time on a flight to Europe and back. Blocked out ambient noise and screaming kids around me. Sound quality is good and battery life seems to be as advertised. 80% after the trip and still haven’t had to recharge. Comfortable on the head and ears. The headphones talk to you to tell you if power is on/off and what noise cancelling mode your using. Easy to use. highly recommend.

I've used many Active Noise Canceling (ANC) headphones over the years. These are the best. incredibly comfortable to wear, come with a nice case, and the touch controls are simple and intuitive, but the best part is the ANC, its clean. Many ANC headphones have noise artifacts in the headphones so there's a rough or scratchy noise in them, but not with these. They are pricey, but they are worth saving for.

Did a ton of research before my purchase, Sennheiser, bose, wolf and whoever... Tried them all in stores, these win hands down. Comfort, anc, sound and battery as good or better than the others. Plus the ambient noise mode makes using them in public places so easy. Love love love, o yeah... You've never heard your movies I think they're in full 7.1 Dolby Atmos. Have a hard time watching movies without these... Spoiled now

Very nice design, comfortable. Noise canceling, and Bluetooth are nice. I thought the app was a little difficult to use at first but the more you use it the easier it is.
