I've never thought about owning a set of Over-the-Ear Headphones. Just never saw the point. A friend of mine got a set of these on sale and was raving about them for their noise cancelling abilities and the sound quality of the music. So, with a upcoming flight to Mexico approaching, I decided to buy these to help with the long flight. The reviews for this unit are excellent and the sale price for the M3 vs the M4 made up my mind. So, with two weeks into my purchase I'm ecstatic with these. They are comfortable and the noise cancelling ability is incredible. I cannot recommend this set of headphones enough. Well worth the money, especially when they are on sale...

Until I bought these I never realized how loud airplanes and our office are. The battery last a long time, I charge it about once a week with mixed usage of bluetooth, ANC, and wired. I wore them for 6 hours straight on a flight to California and they were very comfortable. I use them at work about 4 hours a day and always comfortable as well.

In comparison to B&W P7 the sony’s are definitely more comfortable by far, the noise cancelling is phenomenally effective and the sound is great. The bass is powerful on the sony’s, something sounds slightly more defined on the p7’s but for the overall benefits of the Sony’s I would recommend them. Better for travel, every day use, and extended wear. The ear cups do run warm.

I bought these as a gift and they are wonderful. The charge lasts for hours and the sound is amazing and they’ve comfortable to wear according to the gift recipient. I feel good about the purchase. I listened as well and was blown away by the quality and crispness of the sound. And the noise cancelling feature is effective too.

Excellent quality BT noise cancelling headphones -- these actually sounded better than the comparable Bose model (and my family and I almost always goes with Bose) -- but testing in the store as far as sound quality, and comfort on your ears and over the top of your head, this Sony model was superior -- great battery life, as well -- noise cancelling is amazing

They pair easily...sound excellent and are highly customizable with the available app. Comes with a nice semi-hard shell case, short usb charging cable (no charger), and airplane adapter. I like being able to cup the right earpiece to allow conversation without removing the headphones. Comfortable for extended listening and great battery life.

Overall great headphones. Easy setup using Sony app. Tried them out on a recent flight and was amazed at the noise canceling ability and comfort. They not only created a nearly silent effect but also allowed me to hear every sound of the music. They offer very good balance of bass, mids and treble. The app also allows you to customize the sound.

I am very happy with my purchase. The headphones do a great job at blocking external noises. Music and movies sound great with them on. They are very comfortable to wear. Battery life is excellent. It is a mild nuisance to re-pair the bluetooth when switching devices, but it is not a big deal. Overall, highly recommended.

These earphones are the bomb! Comfortable, great noise reduction, long battery life, easy to use controls, there isn't any area in which these earphones are lacking. Periodically they are on sale, so if you can get them for less than the $350 normal price, don't hesitate. Now if I can just get my daughter to let me use them once in a while.

When I purchased these headphones, I was contemplating the new Bose 700 headphones. The $50 savings over the Bose, as well as the numerous reviews I read about the Sony 1000XM3s was what swayed me. What I like about these headphones: • Amazing battery life. • Incredible sound. • Sony app to customize sound preferences. What I don't like: • My ears get very warm when wearing them, but that's to be expected from over-the-ear headphones. • The microphones could be better. People on the other end of the line can't hear me well when I use the headphones to converse, but I bought these primarily for listening and for noise cancellation, not for talking on the phone. • Wish they were capable of connecting to two Bluetooth devices simultaneously. I hear that is possible with the new Bose 700s. Overall, I am very pleased with the headphones. The things I mentioned are not deal breakers, just minor inconveniences/annoyances.

I recently had to start working from home full time and let me tell ya- it’s been an adjustment. Between the tv being on and my mom taking her conference calls on speakerphone for the whole household to hear, it’s been a much louder work environment than I’m used to. I was hesitant to spend this much on headphones, but saw the positive reviews and decided to give it a shot. BEST. DECISION. EVER. These noise cancelling headphones work alright just on that mode, but once you start playing music it does an INCREDIBLE job of blocking out all the household noises. Now, it’s not magic, so if someone is talking loudly right next to you, you can still hear it. But they have done a great job reducing the amount of noise I would typically hear from the conference calls to the point where I can barely hear it and can actually focus on my work! Definitely worth the money. Sound quality is also great and I enjoy using them to relax after work too. They are very comfortable as well and don’t squeeze too tight and give me headaches like some cheaper headphones I’ve used previous. Highly recommend.

The sound is fantastic... The bass is incredible for over the ear headphones... It is never distorted nor distorts the rest of the music. You barely feel them on your head and they look great! Over the ear headphones always look quite silly on me because the earphones or the headband or both are usually quite bulky. But these are the first ones that don't.

Long battery life, Comfortable and well built. Very cool, functional gestures on the right ear cup to change volume, mute, and skip tracks. It all works really well. Great job Sony.

Great natural bass sound and battery life.. It took no time to learn the touch controllers which were very convenient when working in an office and periodically chatting with people.. CONS, I wish the ear pads were Velour.. Thats just my preference but they still get 5stars.. Hopefully there is a hack out there where you can swap out the pads..

Sony with their WH-1000 MK III has finally beat Bose at their own game of having a comfortable, reliable pair of Noise-Cancelling Over-the-Ear headphones. Unlike the Bose QuietComfort 35 MK II, these have atmospheric calibration based on whether you're in the air, bus, or underground which can help for noise-cancelling features. They also have a much better phone app through the Headphones Connect app which has an equalizer built in which makes it completely customizable based on whatever genre of music you listen to, which can make an enormous difference. Bose used to be the King of Noise-Cancelling until these came out, now if you had to choose between the Bose or Sony flagship Noise-Cancelling, for this particular generation, go with these Sony WH-1000 MK III, you will not regret it!

The wireless noise-canceling headphones that Sony makes are out of this world. Even when they are turned off, they still block out a lot of noise. The software and hardware are great and there are a ton of features with the app to help customize it to your liking. I have these for when I'm studying and I need some quiet time when my wife is watching tv. They're super easy to use, you just turn them on, hold down the larger button which starts the optimation, and once it's done just connect to any Bluetooth device. The finish is made of something great, as it's super hard to scratch.. I've dropped mine numerous times out of bed or from the dining room table, and not one scratch has appeared. They're also super soft on the ears and the battery life is great. After about an hour or so it's fully charged and I get about 1-2 weeks of use off and on between study silence and watching tv when my wife is working from home. One of the best purchases I've made and I'll never be without a pair at my side.

    Even better than the XM2s

I cannot say enough good things about these headphones. I wear them a couple hours most evenings to watch TV in bed after my wife goes to sleep, and after one year with the XM2s and now one month with the XM3s: 1) Sound quality is slightly improved. With similar adjustments in the app, the detail and separation are noticeably more obvious. 2) Comfort is nearly the biggest improvement. The earpieces sit very lightly on the head yet seal well thanks to an incredibly soft cup. With the XM2s and most headphones my eyeglasses would begin to cause pain after an hour or so, but I’ve worn the XM3s for more than 4 hours with absolutely zero discomfort. 3) The noise cancelling and ambient sound modes far exceed expectations. I’m anxious to get the XM3s on a flight, given the CM2s were no slouch and these are a generation improved. At the price these are no small investment, but now there are one of my favorite and most-used pieces of tech!

These are the best noise canceling headphones. They’re very comfortable such that I can even lay down on my side with them for a while. It’s also much sleeker looking compared to some of the competition. The noise canceling works amazing from completely drowning out ambient noise or the neighbors mowing their lawn in the morning.

I use these at work nearly every day in the office. I was looking for a good pair of noise cancelling headphones, and was trying to decide between these and Bose. After reading online reviews that seemed to rate the 2 headphones pretty equally, I decided to try them on in the store. These were a tad bit more comfortable than the Bose for my ears (a lot of over-the-ear headphones squeeze my ears), but the deciding factor for me was the feature that lets you cover one of the earphones and allow outside noise in temporarily. I've used that particular feature several times, when someone was asking me a quick question, and I would have otherwise needed to take off my headphones to answer. I love that they use USB-C to charge, as I just use my MacBook Pro charging cable and don't ever have to bother carrying a separate Micro-USB cable, which a lot of headphones are still using. I'm by no means an audiophile, but I'm happy with the sound quality. I've used them connected to my AppleTV as well, and it's my new favorite way to watch a movie. The sound felt like I was actually in a theater. (I might need to upgrade my home entertainment system) I'd happily recommend these, even at the 350 price point.
