Immersive Sound and Powerful Noise Canceling
Posted .

The Sony XM3 1000 headphones are an exceptional pair of headphones that excel in both sound quality and noise canceling. These headphones deliver an immersive audio experience, making them a top choice for music enthusiasts and frequent travelers alike. However, there are a few small tweaks that, if implemented, could further enhance the overall user experience.
Let's start with the sound quality and noise canceling capabilities of the Sony XM3 1000 headphones. The audio reproduction is simply outstanding. The headphones provide a rich and well-balanced sound profile, with deep, punchy bass, clear midrange, and crisp highs. Whether you're listening to your favorite tracks or watching movies, the sound quality is nothing short of exceptional.
The noise canceling technology employed by Sony in the XM3 1000 is among the best in the industry. It effectively blocks out ambient noise, allowing you to immerse yourself fully in your music or enjoy a peaceful environment during flights or commutes. The noise cancelation is so efficient that it almost feels like you're in a different world, free from external distractions.
While the Sony XM3 1000 headphones are already impressive, there are a couple of small improvements that would make them even better. Firstly, it would be great if Sony incorporated USB-C audio support. USB-C is becoming increasingly prevalent in modern devices, and having the ability to connect directly via USB-C would enhance the convenience and compatibility of these headphones. This would eliminate the need for an additional dongle for devices that solely feature USB-C ports.
Another enhancement that would be well-received is wireless charging compatibility. With the rise in popularity of wireless charging technology, it would be a valuable addition to the XM3 1000 headphones. Being able to simply place the headphones on a wireless charging pad instead of plugging them in would offer added convenience and streamline the charging process.
Despite these small suggestions for improvement, the Sony XM3 1000 headphones remain a top-tier choice for audiophiles and frequent travelers. The superb sound quality and industry-leading noise canceling capabilities make them a standout option in their class. Whether you're looking to enjoy your favorite tunes or block out the world around you, the Sony XM3 1000 headphones deliver an exceptional listening experience.

I'm not sure what else I can add to the deluge of positive reviews these cans have gotten, but here's my thoughts in brief....
If you can afford these headphones, and you like over the ears, you should buy these right away.
Battery life: Insane. It almost feels uncanny how infrequently you have to charge these. I find myself checking the battery levels just because I can't believe how long they last.
Touch controls/cupping: So convenient. I can adjust the volume or switch tracks with a flick of a finger. I can cup my hand over the right ear cup and activate the external mics which pick up insane levels of voice from across the room, or into another room. I use this all the time.
Comfort: Super comfortable with the light, pleather type material. For me, the ears get a little sweaty after a while, but it just took getting used to having something over my ears. I use these to help me sleep/take naps in my chair, and their wonderfully comfortable.
Noise canceling: Again, they work so well, its almost creepy. I've always struggled to take naps because I'm a light sleeper. With these, its a thing of the past. For example, today, my father-in-law was drilling and working on some wood pillars outside my study window, where my sleeping chair is. I popped these headphones on, and listened to some whale sounds, and I was out like a baby. I didn't even know he was out there till after the fact. The noise canceling is phenomenal.
Price: Flippin expensive. But they are amazing, and I don't mind paying a proper price for something of this quality, and with this set of features. These are easily the best headphones I've ever bought (and the in-ear little brothers of this that just came out are great, too).
If you can afford them and you're in the market for high quality, high fidelity cans with the features these tout...buy them.

Sony WH-1000XM3 is a wild set of headphones using tech I never have truly "felt" before that works perfectly. These are Sony latest (and best) effort I have ever seen before out of all my years using Sony headphones. Sony's WH-1000XM3 is unmatched when it comes to Noise canceling at this price. This is what I want to get into first before moving on to sound.
The noise-canceling function of the M3 is nothing short of amazing. I have never heard something so isolated when walking down the street. Everything tunes out no matter what. At times I have to be extra careful with my surrounding world, When people are talking I can bearly hear them. They outright kill any annoying noise in your world. When they say its world-leading noise canceling believe them. Another note to take in is that these headphones have a "Smart Listening/Ambient" mode which smartly detects when you are in a loud or silent environment and helps when you need to be more aware of your surrounds while still having on these beautiful headphones.
The comfort is at its maximum, Sony put in some optimizer that no matter if you are wearing glasses, got your hair a certain way, or wearing earrings it automatically adjusts the noise-canceling. The sound from the M3 as always is world class and music sounds very clear with a nice deep bass tot he headphones, Everything is nicely balanced though Bluetooth. mostly every type of music sounds wonderful to the hears. Hi-Res audio is here and predominant. Battery life is top of its class giving you 30 hours of music so it keeps going as you go. I was able to get about 28 hours during my week of test which is fine. Even better with quick charge though USB-C with 10 mins of charge net you about 5 hours. PERFECT!
Another feature of these headphones that make these feel futuristic is the touch operations on the side of the headphones, They are touch sensitive...For me, it is a hit or miss and I personally would have just wanted normal buttons. but they work just fine here once you get used to using it. Perhaps the best thing about this that if you touch the right earcup it lowers music on the fly helping you in whatever environment you are in lowers the VOL. (Note: you can make calls with these headphones too from your phone)
Overall I don't like these I love these headphones, At the price they are you getting one of the best headphones this year with features you would most likely want. Sony over the last few years really have been pushing forward and listing to user feedback on overall improvement on their headphones. Even with me being a long time reviewer of their headphones, they listen to the feedback to make a better product and this Sony M3 is going to put a lot of sound manufactures to shame.

I love my AirPods with an iPhone, however I have finally discovered the best immersive top sound quality headphones...in like forever. Lightweight, extremely comfortable and easy to Bluetooth sync for once. Touch controls work great as well. Battery life is great and have worn for trips from LA to NY without my ears feeling like they've been in a vice at end of trip. Love them – even if a bit pricier they are well worth it.

Overall, I am thoroughly impressed with the quality of these headphones. Before I get started. I wear these headphones for 9 hours a day. I have found every issue. So, everyone can get a clear picture of what you are getting when you buy; I will break it down to pros and cons.
PROS:
1. Sound Quality is FULL SCALE
2. Bluetooth connection is fluent.
3. Sturdy USB C connection
4. Smooth Design
5. Fairly Comfortable.
6. One ear works even if the battery is not charged. The 3.5 mm
has to be used though.
7. Ambient Noise Control. This is the coolest technology. I am able to completely cut the background noise out. With one click of a button I can clearly head the Ambient noise with the headphones on. It is truly an experience.
8. Out of all the bluetooth headphones I have bought these by far are the most function. They are also the least glitchy. I recently purchased around 6 different bluetooth headsets. These were the only ones that came without glitches.
CONS:
1. There should be more ear depth. After 4 hours or so, I start to feel my ear. I have to take them of momentarily. Then, move my ear around. They could be deeper so my ears would feel like they are in a room, instead of feeling like they are wrapped with a blanket.
2. Ambience noise control will automatically turn on and off when driving down the road. I had to manually go to the settings to adjust this to only change when I select, which was nice.
3. Touch buttons are extremely inconvenient. I don't know how many times I have been using them and accidentally hit a button. Every person I let try the headphones always do this as well. It would be better to utilize a notch for the buttons. So, we do not keep accidentally hitting them. Even when I try to turn the volume up, I sometimes change the song I am listening to. I permanently disabled the buttons. Which might I add, was an excellent setting to include. So, I applaud the developers there.
4. Noise canceling for mic just is not there. I work on these headphones and all my customer can head the background noise. I found some software that will auto mute when I click a button on my mouse, so this is not an issue for me. But if your worried about background noise I would some type of muting software. I use, "MicMute."
5. When using the ambient noise feature, I noticed that I still have trouble hearing when people are talking in a busy environment. I would appreciate a setting that would allow me to adjust the volume of the ambient noise.
6. The is no computer software to adjust settings. The app is nice, but I would like to adjust settings on the fly with my computer.
7. Sometimes, when laying down on my side the headphones crackle. I assume from the pressure my head is putting on the cone. A sturdier case around the cone could fix this.
8. I would also appreciate a detachable mic.
I hope this review helps to make these headphones even better.
Thank You,
Jared Blanford

After trying other headphones (Bose and Beats) I can finally say I found the perfect ones. The sound is amazing!! The bass is freaking awesome, even better than Beats because is a clear bass, it doesn't distort, even in high volume. You can feel your ears vibrating (in a good way). Love how you can get the perfect sound for you with the Sony app that has soooo many options, and the EQ does a great job, it's fully customizable and has may presets than you can start with and tweak to your taste. The noise cancelling is better than the Bose QC 35 II. And it also has a lot of options, even different levels of ambient noise. The battery is sick! Lasts forever!! The headphones are very comfortable like the Bose QC. They feel good in your ears and in your head. They don't apply pressure. Maybe the Bose are just a bit more comfortable. But other than that, the Sony's are better in everything else. Love the touchpad, user friendly and you don't have to be looking for the buttons to skip songs like the old school Bose QC. Overall, these are the headphones to buy, and they were on sale when I got them, so even better. You won't regret buying these headphones, trust me! Worth every penny. Very happy with the Sony WH-1000XM3.

I purchased these and a set of Bose Quiet Comfort 35 II to compare. I figured they were the two top contenders in the noise-cancelling wireless headphone arena, so a real world test would be the best way to decide.
The Sonys are slightly heavier, but honestly have more of a solid, premium feel to them than the Bose. Both sets are comfortable, but I felt that the Bose pinched my head/ears a bit more than the Sonys, which caused fatigue after a while. Softer ear cups, and a better headband go to Sony. Sony wins for comfort.
Where the Sonys really pull away from the Bose is in sound quality. The Bose are okay... They sound clear, but there's not a lot of mid-range presence, and the bass is lacking a bit for my tastes. The Sonys have a MUCH better sound overall. Better bass, cleaner mids and highs, but never too much. Both brands have smartphone apps, and this is another area where Sony shines. Nearly infinite adjustments can be made to fine tune the sound and noise cancelling to your own taste. Bose simply doesn't let you do that.
Also, the touch controls on these Sonys are amazing. Take a deeper look into the abilities of these and you'll understand. Sony had done an amazing job.
At the end of the day, the Bose headphones are being returned. They were fine headphones, but just were not anywhere close to as good as these Sonys, in my opinion. Very happy with them.

I’ve been looking around endlessly for headphones really coming down to these and the Bose Quiet Comforts as well as others around the $300+ price range. Of all of the ones I’ve looked at these Sonys knock every. single. other. headphone. Out of the water. The battery life is superb netting you up to 30 hours on regular usage. Fast fuel charging gets you three hours in 10 minutes. The noise cancelling is (and I really do believe this) the best in the current headphone market. Soon as you put these on when they are off, you honestly will not hear much of anything and when you turn them on and listen to music at not even half volume, it’s just you and your music. No outside noise goes in when ANC is on. They are extremely comfortable, I’ve used these anywhere between 1-6 hours and at times forget Im wearing them. The bass is incredible, you can genuinely feel the music making the experience very unique and new. At $350 these are well worth every penny and on sale like they are right now they are a no brainer. I’d happily purchase these for even $400, that’s the quality these carry. A definite must buy, trust me, if you’re looking for headphones and want the best of the best, these are it,

The Sony WH-1000XM3 wireless noise canceling headphones are the most incredible headphones I have ever used! Not only are they supremely comfortable to wear, but the sound quality and active noise canceling are far superior to any other premium headsets that I have used. Super lightweight and excellent sound from these Sony over the ear headphones. All day battery life and comfort. Ears stayed cool during full day use while connected to my windows 10 desktop. The headphones ship with a great carrying case, a USB-C fast charging cable, an audio cable for wired connection and instructions/paperwork. The headphones fold up perfectly to fit in the case which is a good size for traveling. The came fully charged and ready to go, so all you need to do is (optional really, as they headphones will connect to your bluetooth device anyway) download the Sony Connect app and set up the earphones. So far, after using it for 10 days, i had no problem either with connecting them to my laptop or cell phone or sound quality. I like the adaptive mode, it adjusts the noise canceleing while you are walking or running.

The New King of ANC!

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
There can only be one champion in the ANC arena of headphones. Having recently owned both the QC25's and QC35 II's, I honestly thought that there could be no better.
Enter Sony WH-1000X M3. I heard so many positive things about these headphones that I sold my QC35s just to try these out! Let me tell you - I am impressed! This product is OUTSTANDING. First thing I noticed is how comfortable they felt on my head. Everyone knows, no one beats Bose's QC lineup when it comes to comfort - but these cans come close and may even match Bose in terms of comfort. Next, I noticed ZERO cabin pressure feeling when turning ANC on. With Bose, there was always this intense amount of pressure that required frequent breaks - just so that I wouldn't get sick. Having used these Sony's at home, in the office, and on planes - all I can tell you get ready to isolate yourself from the world. The ANC on these headphones takes down Bose's technology as the once king of the ANC.
Sound quality is also fantastic. I found that the QC35s offer a brighter sound signature out of the box, which is great for those of you who like classical music or need critical listening. The Sony's emphasize bass, but unlike Beats, the bass is balanced, warm and runs through your body like your sitting front row at a concert. Sony's app also offers an equalizer utility that lets you change the sound profile of your headphones. I prefer the 'Excited' profile as it pushed the highs and balances out the bass. The app also provides you with a ton more features like changing the direction of where the audio is coming from, 3D sound effects, and adjusting the atmospheric pressure of the ANC (land vs Plane).
Touch controls take some getting used to. Absolutely love the ability to place my hand over the right ear cup to activate the outside mics to let in ambient noise. Perfect for when someone is talking to you and you need to hear what they're saying.
The app also has a setting that recognizes your current activity and can set noise cancellation to allow more ambient noise in. For example, if you're walking, the app will adjust noise cancellation to allow more ambient noise in so that you can slightly hear traffic around you for safety. Believe me when I say this - the ANC on this will literally isolate you from the world around you.
Build on these headphones are mainly plastic. Probably the only thing that I thought was a little interesting considering they cost $350. However, they've been durable and look absolutely awesome! I purchased the black model. The silver model, I'm told, resembles the silver of the original Playstation - which is pretty cool.
Size wise, they're bigger than the Bose QC35s but don't look bad at all. They actually look really nice in comparison to the Bose which now look rather dated.
I highly recommend these headphones. You will not be dissapointed. The biggest struggle you'll have with these is deciding on whether to get the Black or Silver color! If you're on the fence, jump on the bandwagon. THE HYPE IS LEGIT!

Mostly better than MDR-1000x (first gen) overall
|

This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.
I've owned the first generation of these headphones, the MDR-1000x, for a year and a half. I've had the third generation, the WH-1000XM3, for a few days now. Each has its plusses and minuses, and I'm trying to decide whether to keep the new ones or send them back.
The noise cancelling on the third generation is 10-15% better than the first generation. The newer ones have a clearer and punchier sonic presentation than the first generation, but the bass on the new one is just too much for me. I'd say they tightened up the bass overall but increased its impact and quantity by 25% over the first version. The first generation had a pretty neutral sound with a little bit of bass emphasis, but nothing like the new one. The bass emphasis on the new one isn't as obvious when listening to most classical, jazz, or rock music, but for pop, electronic, ambient, and EDM music, the bass is just overwhelming.
About playing music wirelessly:
If you're using an iPhone or an Android phone to play your music, there's no issue really with the overemphasized bass of the new headphones, because you can adjust the sound with the Sony Headphones app. However, for my particular dedicated DAP (the Sony NW-Z300 Walkman player), there's no way to adjust the sound over Bluetooth. Dunno if that's true for other dedicated DAPs, though.
Why do I use a dedicated DAP instead of an iPhone? The Bluetooth codec. When using my DAP, I can use Sony's LDAC codec to play music on the headphones, which sounds much much better than Apple's AAC codec.
So there's the rub.
MDR-1000x advantages: Neutral sound. 25% less bass impact and quantity. Better construction overall.
WH-1000XM3 advantages: 10-15% better noise cancellation. Punchy sound, Can keep noise-cancelling feature on when not listening to music. More comfortable to wear than first generation,
MDR-1000x disadvantages: 10-15% less noise cancellation. Shuts off (headphone and noise-cancelling feature) after five minutes when using Bluetooth with no music playing.
WH-1000XM3 disadvantages: Overwhelming bass impact and quantity.
The WH-1000XM3 scores better than the MDR-1000x, but I find myself hesitating to keep it because of the bass. Should I just accept that the future of wireless headphones is a "fun" sound rather than a "balanced" sound? I'm torn.

The best, with a few considerations

Sony's new cans are great. That's the short, honest answer to those asking. Sony has developed a very specific philosophy of design with its products, and this third iteration of this line of headphones has produced the best possible result. If you're looking up reviews, chances are that you're weighing these against the Bose QC35 II.
Here's the quick rundown:
Sound: It's great. Bass is slightly emphasized, nothing the built-in app equalizer won't solve. The soundstage is a little constricted, but these aren't meant to be reference monitors.
Design: The design has been improved for a much more sleek and non-obtrusive product, allowing you to use these in all activities, although I wouldn't recommend using these in exercise or sports rotations.
Function/app: The downloadable app equalizer is powerful, allowing you to adjust variance degrees of noise-cancellation, depending on where you are and how much external noise you want feeding into your sound.
Noise-cancellation: Better than the QC35 II, but marginally so. Honestly, it won't realistically make a difference. If you like having the 'best', then these serve the purpose. Take note for those who haven't used ANC before, these are magical, but not god-like. ANC is not going to block out 100%, but the XM3s kill out about 80-85% of noise. The QC35 II does a similar job, but its less cushioned-in and "clampy" style factors in in it being a less isolating product.
Comfort: This is by far the biggest reason that's going to nudge your decision one way or another. Sony's design philosophy really shows in the XM3. It has a clamped down style (cushioned but NOT at all uncomfortable after long use), is extremely (and surprisingly) light, and the earpads are thicker and comfortable. The QC35 II are slightly more "boney", not as finessed in design, and feel less delicate in a sense. Ultimately, I believe the fit and comfort is what's going to push you one way or another. If you prefer a pillowy effect with your earphones, the XM3 is the way to go. Go with the Bose if you prefer a lighter, more airy feel.
I'd recommend trying out both products in-store (Best Buy staff are awesome, so ask them for their opinion and expertise), before making the purchase. I preferred the XM3, and I'm not regretting it.
***After 2 weeks of use, the headband on the XM3 began to creak significantly, and the right earphone began to pop intermittently when the bass kicks in. Regarding the headband, I'm a little concerned that this is inevitable/expected given that the headband is of a plastic build. For a $350 pair of cans, this shouldn't happen. Period. I had them exchanged after 2 weeks and will monitor how the replacements perform. With that said, Best Buy's exchange policy is actually amazing. The staff are super efficient, and extremely understanding. Kudos.

I upgraded from the XM2 to the XM3. Sony did an awesome job making this version even better than the previous one, which is one of the best on the market. Upgrades were subtle, but worthwhile. The gold accent gives it a nice look. They are lighter and I can tell the difference on my head. You can wear these things for hours and forget they are there. The ear-cups are more comfortable. The band profile is tighter to my head so it looks better and fits better. I didn't notice much of a difference in sound performance, but it was already pretty good. Noise canceling is better in my home environment. How much better is tough to say but I did notice. I have not used these outside the home yet so not sure if they perform better or the same as the XM2 on the streets or a plane. Bose used to be my go to noise canceling headphones. I have had the QC15, 25, 30 and 35. No more. Sony has continually upped the game and now has taken the lead. Is it worth another $350 if you already have the XM2's? Maybe not, but try and decide for yourself. If you don't have the XM2's, buy these.

I owned the first versions of these, the MDR-1000X's for about two years when I decided to upgrade to the new XM3's. Was not disappointed at all in the new versions. Noise cancelling is better than ever and the companion app is also a very nice touch, allowing you to change the EQ as well as other settings from your phone.
The sound quality is excellent just like the last ones I owned. However, they are a little more bass heavy than the older ones. For critical listeners that prefer clarity, Bose might have a better sound signature to you. If you are looking for the best noise cancelling, however, these definitely surpass any other headphone in the price range. I use them every day at my office and I end up forgetting there are other people there. Very light weight and comfortable enough to wear them for long periods of time, also thanks to their 30 hr battery life.
All around, a great pair of headphones and definitely worth the price

The noise canceling is excellent. It can't completely block out talking but depending on a person's vocal range it might block out quite a bit of it. It blocks out voices coming through the wall completely. On the opposite end, the ambient mode does a great job at amplifying voices when you need to hear people.
I really like the way it sounds. But it doesn't sound as good my ANC Sennheisers that I had previously. It is enough bass for me however.
Having USB C charging is fantastic. That's one less microUSB device to worry about as I wait for everything to become USB C. Bluetooth connection is strong. Buttons work fine. Touch gestures are accurate and less prone to do doing unintended actions. The slide and hold volume change gesture is really useful.
It's very lightweight and comfortable but my ears tend to get hot compared to my Sennheisers so it's not perfect. It's still a great buy overall though.

I researched headphones for a while before buying these. It was between these and the comparably priced Bose headphones. Both sounded great and I believe they get similar battery life. A few things made me choose these over the Bose.
1. The app let's you tweak the EQ overall easily. 2. The NFC Pairing with my Samsung S9 is amazing and fast. 3. The USB C fast charging is amazing since all my devices are USB c already. 4. The touch controls are very intuitive and easy to use without having to search for the buttons. 5. The noise cancelling is the best I've ever experienced. I wear them the on the L and it blocks everything out.
These sound amazing, they're compact, they charge so quick, and they're comfortable. I bought a cheap pair on Amazon for working out, but these are my go to headphones for everything else.

I love music and I LOVE these.
Battery:
These headphones have dominated my life since I got them. If anything, the insane battery life on these things make it possible to keep jamming. I'll listen on average 8 hours each day (between commuting and working in the art studio) and it barely puts a dent on the battery life! If I forget to charge the XM3 at the end of one night, it's all right because it's still at 80%.
Audio:
I listen to pop, rock, musicals, and the occasional punk. The Hi-Res drivers are good for crisp mids, vocals, and rumbling lows. As for bass, I think it's decent. I don't listen to heavy bass so I can't comment too much in that aspect.
Noise canceling:
I've never heard (nearly) complete silence until the Sony's Q1 Active Noise Canceling. Without the noise canceling, there's the choice of ambient sound on/off. With no ANC and ambient sound off, it's merely noise isolating (since the foam ear cups dampen much of the noise). It reduces the outside sounds by nearly 60-70% but with ANC, that number jumps up to about 80-90%. HOWEVER, ANC works best with low frequency or consistent sounds (ie hum of a fridge/fan) and I've noticed this also applies to the Bose Quiet Comfort 35 Mark II. With more abrupt noises such as doors slamming or high frequency noises such as planes flying overhead, the ANC starts to struggle. It will reduce the sounds but you'll hear some minor distortions of the sounds through the headphones. I can't hear people talk when ANC is on. It's ridiculous. It's like watching a skit in real life but with everyone on mute. Makes it easy to ignore the world around you. Just be wary when walking with ANC on, you won't hear someone sneaking up on you or cars even.
Fit:
It's like wearing clouds on my ears. They're so comfy and the earcups seal nicely around my ears. I've worn these for 8 hours straight once and barely even remembered I had them on.
Touch pad/call quality:
The touch pad is on the right ear and coming from the predecessor WH1000XM2, I have to say the touchpad is significantly more sensitive than the XM2. I went from constantly tapping on the XM2 to a tap here and a tap there on the XM3s. I've used these headphones to talk on the phone and also with the XM2 and people have commented that I'm coming across clearer than before so huge thumbs up.
Sense engine/google assistant:
The headphones now have the option to install the sense engine to further customize your noise canceling based on sound data it gathers from your surroundings - though you need to download their app in order to set this up. I opted out of this because I still wanted to hear some things - for safety reasons. Google assistant pops up when you hold the AMBIENT button but I keep it off.
AND IF YOU ARE STILL READING BECAUSE YOU'RE DEBATING BETWEEN THESE AND THE BOSE QC35II, it is honestly up to you. I've used both for weeks and decided with Sony. The Bose is like 20 grams lighter and doesn't have the touchpad feature so it's button pushing to skip tracks etc, etc. Depending on which website/tech review you read, they may tell you more or less the same thing. I'm not an audiophile so I wouldn't be able to tell you if there was a slight decibel difference but for the everyday person, these two are practically the same.
Thanks for reading!

I purchased the Bose QC35-II and the Sony WH-1000MX3 for side by side comparison. They are both the same price. These Bose headphones carry all the same great qualities as previous models; however, they've been passed by.
The QC35s are definitely more comfortable, lighter and provide multi-device connectivity; but those are the only categories where they win.
The Sony WH-1000MX3 provides much better sound quality, 50% longer battery life, USB-C quick charging and significantly better active noise cancellation. Sony has won in the most important performance categories.
I have returned the Bose and kept the Sony's.
