I am used to most headphones dying after 4 to 5 hours of listening. But not these, they can go all day long without needed a charge.
They are also lightweight and super comfortable. I wore them on a 3 hour plane ride without the usual discomfort of traditional headphones.
Just tap the sides of the headphones for easy to use controls for pause, play, volume up and down.
These are the best Active Noise Cancelling headphones I have ever owned.

I bought this noise canceling rig to save my rapidly degrading hearing, enhance my audiophile experience, and to block out annoyingly loud coworkers. I can happily say all 3 objectives are achieved with these headphones. I am actually startled at work now, when people need to speak with me, because I can't hear them coming. The sound of the music is excellent. I listen to 6-7 hours or more of music per day in multiple settings (car, work, home) with multiple setups, and the sound with these headphones is superior. The base is exemplary. I don't dare turn the volume up when listening to base-heavy songs for fear of being base-blasted into deafness! The richness of the music is soooo much better than any headphones I've owned in the past. Pair that with the world-muting noise canceling, and I can't recommend these enough. The charging is quick (30 mins for a 20% boost over my lunch break from a crappy power bank I bought from Wish). The over the ear style doesn't contribute to my ear infections like my ear buds do. The material that touches your skin is obviously high end; I wish I had a full living room set made out of it. The only annoying aspect of these headphones is the double touch interface on the right ear. Sometimes it recognizes my input (to pause or skip) right away, but more often than not, I have to double tap multiple times to get it to pause, which is embarrassing when a coworker is trying to speak to me. But, after using them for over 4.5 months now, I would buy them again, again, and again.

I am blown away by these headphones. I really wanted to give these headphones a 5 star review.
The Pros: Beautiful design, super comfortable. Sound is amazing. These are an upgrade from my Bose Quiet comfort 15s, which were not bad at all. The sound is amazing with these Sony's 1000xm3s. And when i say amazing, I am truly impressed. Sony has this feature called 360 Reality Audio. My goodness, I have never experienced nor heard anything that compares to this feature. (see cons section also). You'd have to hear it to understand what i am trying to explain. The 360 Reality feature takes these headphones and sound to a whole other level.
The noise cancellation feature works quite well. Ambient sound with voice focus is good too. Im testing it out as I write this. The Sony app adds to the experience. You can do all sorts of tailoring to your sound and music with the app. Using the app was a little tough at first, but after playing with the app for a few minutes, its self explanatory.
The headphones them selves are easy enough to use after a couple rounds of use. They have some cool features on the headphones themselves prove useful if you don't want to keep picking up the phone to use volume, skip a track, stop the music. Even a cool feature where you can put the palm of your hand on the right ear cup when while listen to music and the headphones will quiet the music and you can hear what is going on around you clear as day. That is a pretty awesome feature. You don't have to remove the headphones.
The Cons: There aren't many cons with the Sony 1000XM3s that I can think of at the moment. One thing in particular was the 360 Reality Audio feature. It seems you can only use it with 1 of 3 apps downloaded (subscription required for each app). Deezer, Nugs.net, or TIDAL. for the price of these headphones, I should not have to get a 19.99 subscription to ANOTHER music service that does the same thing as A-prime, Sp0tt!fy and !-Heart R@d!0. So, if you don't have a subscription to one of the three listed above (Deez, Nugs, or TDL), then it appears you can't use the 360 Reality Audio feature. That is a kick in stomach. I still think the headphones are top notch for audiophiles like myself. The music still sounds like candy to my ears, just not liquid candy like it did when sampling the 360 Reality feature. I will tell you, when the 360 Reality feature kicked on during sampling out the box, i felt my ear hair tickle, and I didnt even know i had ear hair.
This may not be a con just yet, but along with comfort, I can see the ear pads and head band wearing out eventually based on the experience with the material. Im not sure what else Sony could use to make the ear pads and head band comfortable and durable though. Don't get me wrong, the headphones are super comfortable. I plan to get one of those Head band protectors like i had with my Bose headphones. i saw certain websites sell ear pad replacements, so I am sure after a good amount of use, I will have to get those as well.
Bottom Line: These headphones are amazing. Id recommend them to anybody. Especially if you can get them on sale for under $300. They are worth every penny. I am planning on getting another pair for a special friend soon.

Sony did it! It would take a long time to describe all positive qualities of these headphones so I will just write about my favorite ones:
1. Incredibly awesome sound quality!
2. Batteries last a very long time.
3. BT works well with iPhone (8, 8Plus, X, 11 Pro) and Mac Book Pro (three different models between 2013 - 2019), no broken connections, no issues.
4. They're very comfortable, even for long hours.
5. They're well built. Tough!

I had my eyes on these headphones for a while and finally decided to pull the trigger once I was forced to work from home. They worked flawlessly and were everything I expected them to be. I ended up returning them only because I needed something I could carry easily for my commute/work place usage. I still may end up getting them again in the near future for at home usage.
Highlights:
- class leading noise cancellation:
I have tested bose qc2’s as well as Jabra 85h’s. The Sony’s shut you off from the rest of the world and immerse you in the music.
-comfort:
Very comfortable for hours of use. They don’t feel like they are crushing my head but definitely hold on well
-audio:
Very nice and balanced. The app also allows you to customize the sound to your preferences. Good if you don’t like cookie cutter sound stages.
-battery life:
Holds a charge very well. They have an auto shutoff feature if they are idle for more than 5 minutes.
-Quality:
Very sturdy and well built. They seem to be made of premium materials. No creeking when manipulating them. Test of time will tell how the hold up.
-Bonus/favorite:
If you put your hand over the right ear cup it temporarily disables the music without you having to press a button or remove the headphones.
Con: the app was a little annoying because you couldn’t use the headphones without it. That’s kind of the normal now with a lot of products though. It’s not enough to keep me from recommending this product, have patience and you will be in for a great experience.

Although an older model the MX3 still provides excellent sound quality and ANC functions. The app is working fine for me on my Samsung Note 9 and I like the motion controls vs fumbling for tiny buttons on my B&O H4 headset. I bought these on sale and am pleased with this purchase.
They are reasonably comfortable but I have a problem with most overear headphones because of my rather small face, the cans tend to make my jaws ache after awhile. Not noticing any side effects from the ANC pressure but listening to some 3d music for extended periods can make me a little light headed.
I've tried the Bose QC II and found the Sony's more comfortable for longer periods of time, but that's relative.
The MX3 still has the 5 codecs which seem missing except for LDAC in the newer model. Another reason to get the MX3.

Great sound. Really good noise cancellation at many levels. Many operational features. Bluetooth pairs with almost anything! Charges super fast and the charge lasts a very long time. Comfortable to wear and works great as a gaming or video conference ad-on. Microphone is really nice sounding on the other end. You can answer cell calls with it. One drawback is wind noise but all mics do that.

I did lot of research between Sony and Bose, i am a big Bose fan and have 3 more Bose speakers / headphones. But finally settled on this one. I like the bass , noise cancellation and the iPhone app. Noise cancellation is pretty good, can wear comfortably for 2 hours ( didn't try more than that) . Overall very good headphones from Sony. Love the touch controls and hand over the ear shortcut.

I’ve tried every major brand of over-ear noise-canceling headphones and these are definitely the best. Most NC headphones sacrifice sound quality, but these sound great, feel great, look great, charge fast through USB C, and have a great app to adjust EQ, soundstage, and the amount of noise-canceling to allow more or less of the sounds around you to come through. This is extremely helpful if you’d like to listen to music but also need to hear alerts (e.g. your number at the DMV, stop on the subway, etc.)
The best feature I didn’t know I’d like is that you can put your hand over the right earcup and it will lower the volume until you remove your hand. The demo in the store guided me through that feature so it was helpful that they were on display.
One major unexpected upside of these is the case they come in. Beats, Bose, Sennheisers, and other headphones I own all come in cases that are molded in odd shapes to conform to the shape of the headphones which makes them extremely difficult to pack. These Sony headphones fold flat and the case is flat which makes it simple and easy to pack in a handbag, backpack, or carryon.
The only downside I’ve found is that pairing is limited to one device at a time, so unlike Beats and AirPods, which I also own, they don’t automatically switch between your phone, computer, iPad, etc. but it’s a small annoyance that I’m willing to live with for the incredible comfort, excellent sound quality, loud clear bass, flat case, and plentiful options for customization.

This is my first set of noise Cancelling headphones. I use in my work office.
Pros
1. Comfortable
2. Very quiet/ immersive. At default Cancelling level I cannot hear my co-workers approaching me. My desk faces away from office door so imagine folks knock/speak and I hear nothing. Almost a con as I will get startled at times. Need to adjust Cancelling level a bit.
3. Sound is good to excellent. Maybe a little heavy on bass at expense of treble.
4. Fatigue/headaches. I had 199 $ Audio technical over ear cans. Causes headaches and fatigue after 20 minutes. Don’t have problem with these.
5. Appearance and ease of use. I have the gold/tan ones. I don’t look like a spaceman. As understated and Stylish as you can make headphones. Snap to set up. Always connects to my phone. Tapping control ok- but would prefer buttons/dials. Carrying case slick. I always put away when done.
6. Value. Got for 299 plus tax. Fair price. Good deal
Cons
1. Range not extreme. Lose signal at 50 -75 feet—location of office copier.
2. Tad too much bass. Smothering the high end to get there. Hardly noticeable. One reviewer mentioned that so could be I’m just suggestable.
The headphones shine at what’s important in office environment. My neighbor will play radio at distractingly - just loud enough to distract/ irritate. I used to close door - still hear. With these headphones I just get them out of case, press on button twice, start music, problem solved.

As someone who owns Bose noise cancelling headphones, these new headphones have blown me away. The noise cancelling is a noticeable step up from the QC 35 I currently. It's light (a tad heavier than the Bose), comfortable (I usually can't stand having most headphones on for a long time as my ears tend to get sore - no issues 3 hours in with this pair), and have a sound quality that blows the Bose or any other noise cancelling headphones I've tried out of the water. Being able to cup the right headphone to pause the noise cancelling to listen to people talking to you without taking off the headphone is a pretty cool feature.
Being able to charge via USB-C is a plus as someone who has a Galaxy S8 and a Nintendo Switch, as I can use the same cable. It also lets you charge the headphones via Quick Charge. While I can't speak to it's longevity, the headphones seem to be high quality, and I don't notice any discernible issue with the headband - something that I understand the previous models suffered from.
Overall, I am extremely impressed by the WH1000XM3, and it will easily become my every day carry headphones.

Aesthetically, I prefer how the Bose looks, but then again I purchased this for the audio and noise-cancelling properties, not how it looks. The touch controls on the right earpiece took a bit to get used to, but quickly became second nature.

I own a good number of headphones, including Beats Studio (original and 3), Beats Solo 3, Bose QC I, Skullcandy and a few others.
I prefer noise canceling and wireless cans. These over-the-ear headphones are the best noise-canceling headphones on the market. It blocks out noise as good as any other the ones that I mentioned.
This is an app that you can download which allows you to the adjust the music have you like it. I wanted a bit more bass in my music and the app allowed me to do just that. The sound is balanced, crisp and clear.
The design is decent. They are comfortable on the ear and not too heavy. The controls are touch based, meaning that you swipe with finger to change volume and change tracks. In the quick attention mode, you can place your hand over your ear, and you can hear outside sounds. This is useful if you are talking to someone.
It comes in a very nice case and the needed accessories such as charging cable and plug adapter. It is a high-end headphone, and it retails at $349. If you are patient, you may can find them for $50 (or more) off the retail price.
There is a new version of Bose so I do not know how these compare. Nevertheless, these do an awesome job of canceling out unwanted sound (I have used these on several flights) with a very good battery life.

I have owned the 2 previous versions of these headphones and have been extremely impressed with the sound and noise canceling qualities. The Mark 3 version continues with the same great sound quality but it seems like they improved upon the noise canceling just a bit. It’s extremely impressive. However, the most notable difference this time around is the fact they are considerably lighter which helps when wearing for longer periods of time. The fit and finish is still very high although I liked the coloring and material finish with the Mark 2 more. The textured earcup exterior is now smooth like the Mark 1 and I think that was a mistake. Overall, a fantastic set of NC headphones that last up to a ridiculous 30 hours. You won’t be disappointed.

I use this pair of headphones almost every moment I am awake. The noise-canceling is AMAZING, and so is the sound quality. The padding at the top of the head and the ear cups are super comfortable, but when wearing it for a few hours, your ears begin to heat up a bit (obviously, since they're completely covered). At that point, you might want to take them off for a bit to cool down. This would be a problem with basically any pair of over-the-ear headphones though. It just wasn't something I was used to because I only used to use on-ear headphones prior to this purchase.
Also, a quick note: The companion app allows you to control more precise stuff like bass and treble, but it is not needed to use with the headphones. The touch controls on the right side is pretty easy to learn although I never use Google Assistant. I only use it for volume controls and pause/play.
It also charges really, really fast (via USB-C) and lasts a long time. I use mine primarily for gaming and it easily lasts me the entire day. It also has NFC to connect, which works. I've only used it a few times though because I find Bluetooth to be more convenient.
Honestly, just a great pair of headphones.

Wow. So glad I got this headset. For me worth the $$ as I work in a collaborative environment where the talk around me never stops. The noise cancellation alone on the headset is excellent for the majority of usual background noise. None of these NC headsets are perfect blockers with no music playing...BUT you can drown the intensity of that noise so much you can really focus on what you want to get done. Likewise with music on total perfection for me so far. I really wish one of the sets out there with no music could be 100% against things like high pitch cat cries and the like that cut through even the best. Again with music that is high pitch is blocked out for me and my usual surroundings. As far as sound...killer, as far as comfort...awesome, as far as battery...stellar, as far as usage...easy as pie, phone connectivity...clear and crisp both ends of call. Has very cool app I don't really need to use and cool features. Blue tooth is fast connecting and far distance stability, voice assist, and touch gesture control of right ear muff is genious. I liked newness of tech over Bose with USB C, and if you have big ears the muffs are great too BTW. Bose might be smaller and lighter for verrrrrry long term use and they are great so try both before you decide what is more important to your needs for NC.

I have been to Best Buy to try on Numerous Headphones & decided to order these new XM3’s and WOW. I’m Speechless. These headphones feel like pillows on my ears and after the 20min. Update & activating the SONY APP I can simply say these Blow the BOSE COMFORT 2’s out of the water. The base is so deep and clear. The Simplicity and design and function and NC is simply amazing. Buying Headphones at Best Buy is the smartest thing you can do. With a 15-45 day return policy + if you buy the geek squad protection you can exchange once for an equal or greater costing headphone ($95 for this $350 Headphone). This means at 23 Months you can exchange for a newer Set of Headphones. So it becomes $350 Down & $50 a Year for the best headphones around.

I ordered these on the Best Buy app, and as usual they arrived on time. I really loved them but there was a weird almost popping sound whenever I’d turn the volume up with my phone. The most annoying part was that since the day I received them, the right ear cup would have this strange sound whenever I activated the noise canceling setting option. I knew it wasn’t normal because after turning them off and not using them for a while it wouldn’t make that sound anymore. However it would always go back to making the strange blowing sound. The best way I could describe it was as if you went swimming and had water in your ear lol. When I played music it could sometimes block it out but it was very annoying. I realized this was a relatively common issue so I was going to return to Sony but it’s a hassle to mail it back. Fortunately Best Buy made it really easy to just go to the store and exchange it for a new one. If you’re paying 300+ dollars there shouldn’t be any issues. The new pair I got were much better! My second pair hasn’t given me any problems thus far. So hopefully it stays that way!
For the product itself:
As I mentioned earlier, I really love them! I was skeptical to buy headphones that were at this price, but I have to say the noise canceling is pretty great. No, it won’t block out everything so try not to expect them to, but it is pretty amazing just how quiet the world around you can get. I haven’t done this personally but from what I’ve learned about them, I don’t think it’d be a great idea to workout with them on as they are not water-resistant. They’re very light, comfortable and they sound great! Are they the greatest sounding headphones? Probably not. But still worlds better than so many I’ve tried before from a few other well known brands.
They are pretty great and I like how you can mess with the EQ settings in the app to customize how it sounds. To me they’re worth the price I paid. I’m happy with the purchase and I would have given 5 stars if it weren’t for the issues I had with the first pair. Finding out that it was a pretty common problem can be discouraging but cant deny that I still really love having them all the same!

This headphones are very good. The sound is very warm and dynamic. The bass is not super deep but has enough punch. It was easy to connect to the app and the battery life is excellent. They fit well and the only thing I would change is that they are on the warm side for your hears. They are light and feel plastic but durable. Happy so far.
