Have a pair of these and some Bose QC35's. Comparing the two the treble is sharper on the Sony and there is more bass. From a noise cancelling standpoint they are identical including on airplanes, in the city, or with talking. What makes the Sony better in my opinion is the adjustability on sound preference and having the ability to adjust the noise cancelling pressure through the app. Not sure why but after 4 hours or so the pressure from both sets can bother my ears- especially on long plane trips. With the Sony you can calibrate and the pressure often goes down. With the Bose I have you cannot. Overall both sets are durable with good battery life. Either one is a solid choice, but these Sony headphones edge out Bose in my opinion.

I bought the Sony - WH-1000xM3 on sale for about $180 and have used it for a little over a month now. I would not recommend these at their full price but if you can get them at a discount, they're a solid purchase in my opinion, especially if you don't need the features of the WH-1000XM4. Pros: - Amazing noise cancelling. Ambient sound works really good as well. - Comfortable on the ears and head. - Very good battery life. Cons: - Sound quality is good but not great. It just sounds kinda flat and pretty much needs an EQ to enhance it. - Minor con but you have to hold the power button for several seconds in order for it to turn on. - Although I said it's comfortable, it can start to get uncomfortable after long periods of use.

After about a month of use, these headphones are %100 worth it so far. Noise cancellation works amazing, and sound is nice and clear. I usually prefer a little extra bass and these headphones deliver perfectly, from any genres from country, classical, death metal you name it. Good quality materials and seems durable, comfortable to wear. Currently have the sound settings on the bright preset with the clear bass turned up to 7, I found this sounds the best to me.

Hi NocturnaI97, Awesome! We are so glad to hear that you are happy with the noise canceling and sound quality of your new WH-1000XM3 Headphones! the WH1000XM3's super soft, pressure-relieving ear pads in foamed urethane evenly distribute pressure and increase ear pad contact for a stable fit. Comfort is further enhanced by a larger and deeper ergonomic ear space structure. And with a lighter weight design, your music is the only thing you'll notice all day. Thank you for your awesome review!

      Regards,
      Carl Sony_US

Bought these to use in my wood shop as I have a very noisy dust extraction system and they have worked great. My system runs at about 95 dB of noise and it drove me to it. The headphones do not make it perfectly quiet, however, they reduce it to a very low level and when I play music using Bluetooth I forget it is running at all. Be sure to run the optimizer as it made a huge difference. VERY comfortable for me even when using safety glasses etc. for hours at a time. I have yet to run out of battery when I’ve worked for 8 hours at a stretch. I am very glad I invested in these headphones.

These headphones knock everything out of the park. They're wireless, but the Bluetooth is so good that there is no noticeable lag between something you see and what you hear in your ears. Some people don't like Bluetooth headphones; well, they come with an aux cable, and they still work when the battery runs out. Speaking of the battery, these things hardly ever die, and it only takes 10 minutes to get anybody's normal day of usage out of them. One full charge lasts me about 4 days, and I use them for around 5 to 6 hours a day at least. The sound cancelling is king; it's sort of mind-boggling sometimes how well it blocks noise. If you're debating between another pair of headphones and these, buy these... Always.

Overall great music sound. built in touch operations is so helpful. strong battery. Sounds cancelling is quite effective; took my first airplane ride with it and was amazed how loud things sounded after taking off the headphones after a while. they fit so comfortably. I'm still trying to figure out sound functioning when on a phone call.

These are the best sounding Bluetooth over-ear headphones I have ever heard. I want to compare them to Bose, because this was the hard decision I needed to make. Bose: I originally purchased Bose Quiet Comfort 35 II because they were hyped as being the best, had a reputable name with Bose, they were aesthetically good looking headphones, and they were on sale. For a $350 headphone, I was (surprisingly) underwhelmed with the sound, which for me trumps all other features in a pair of headphones. To keep it simple, the sound felt compressed. It wasn’t vibrant. It didn’t “wow” me. It was just nice, clear music, lacking a driving bass and reverberating highs. (On a side note, the noise cancelling gave me sort of a motion sickness/dizziness feeling, which I thought I was crazy, until I went online and found that it is a real thing.) I returned the Bose the next day, and paid the extra $56 (because the Sony’s weren’t on sale) for the WH-1000XM3’s. And am I ever glad I did! SONY: These headphones are simply amazing. The sound they generate is everything the Bose was lacking; powerful base, strong mids, and vibrant highs. The sound surrounds you and envelops you. These headphones immediately “wow’d” me, and I think more-so because I had just been disappointed with the Bose (which I was worried was the best I could get). Additionallly, the Sony’s have the ability to adjust an Equalizer through their app, and you can customize the sound even further (you can really drive the bass, or tone it way down). You can also manually adjust the noice cancelling (which is incredible and didn’t make me sick at all) in several different ways on the app, or allow it to automatically adjust depending on what the headphones are sensing (meaning if you go running, it will let in more ambient sounds automatically for safety). Of course this is all able to be turned on and off in the app. The sound is just larger, more encompassing, and better. You can get hard hitting, deep bass listening to rap, or hear the flute player taking a breath between notes listening to classical music. The Sony’s are a slightly larger, heavier, and more “obvious” aesthetically, but they are still very comfortable and hold their position nicely. I would much rather enjoy what I am listening to, than worry about how cool I look wearing them. There are a couple smaller features I liked better on the Bose (changing what device you are connected to on the Bose was easier), but without a doubt, Sony has more customizablity, and the sound is just plain superior to the Bose. If your primary goal is to find the best sounding headphones, these are it.

Before these, I owned Beats. I will never go back. These are super expensive, but they are the best headphones I ever owned. They are comfortable and they sound amazing. The noise-canceling is great as well. I love the volume control with the swipe of a finger as well as muting the headphones to talk to someone by just holding my palm over the left headphone. The battery life is amazing as well as I can use these for hours at a time and they don't need re-charged until 3 days later — longer if I go without using them nonstop. They also came with a rapid recharge cord that puts about 4 hours on them in just 10 minutes. These are amazing headphones

I was originally set on the XB900N but I compared these in the store and ended up loving them. I like bass and these are still naturally bass heavy, just not quite as much as the XB series. The sound quality is better with much better surround and ambient features. The noise cancelling is MUCH better, a feature you don't know you want until you have it. The NFC and touch controls work good. It charges via USB-C which is a big plus for me. The battery life is good with a real world use of about 25 hours. They told and come with a hard case which is another big plus and the finish has a smooth premium feel. Worth the money for the price, especially if you catch them on sale or have a coupon.

I have tried numerous headphones from many manufacturers. The Sony WH1000XM3 headphones are super comfortable that I can wear them for hours without getting that outer ear ache! One other feature I like is the charging with the type-C cable since all my hand held devices use the same. Now for the sound quality.....it is just as good as any other noise cancellation headphones on the market. You can still hear people's conversations, if they are next to you, but their speaking is only slightly audible. The overall sound quality is really good. I spend a lot of time flying, and it blocks out the drone of the engines while keeping the movie sounds crisp. Love the headphones!

After 4 months of solid use with these headphones, I still believe they are worth the money. At $350, the Sony WH-1000XM3's are about $150 above the lower grade Sony's and you can really tell the difference. The only competitor these headphones had at this price point were the Bose set, but the only thing that the Bose pair beat these in was that they were slightly lighter. These feel better on the head, have slightly better sound, and with over 50% more battery life it was a no brainer. The touch controls are very easy to get used to. My girlfriend also bought a pair because she liked mine so much, and because these were the only pair at this price point that fit her smaller head well.

I was a bit skeptical about getting a pair of Bluetooth headphones, but I tried these one in a store and they sounded fantastic. Afterwards, I went online and saw so many glowing reviews about this pair, so I decided to go for it, and so far I'm glad I did. They sound excellent to me and they're pretty comfortable. My ears do touch the cloth on the insides and sometimes they can get a bit warm, but they're really light and after having gotten used to wearing them, I forget how long I've had them on. Sound Quality, comfort, and general wireless benefits aside, the one case where this makes it so worth it is at work. I used to have my own office at work with a door and could get some quiet and privacy. Now, just recently, they decided to change it up to a big 'open' workspace, with all of us out in a room together to promote cooperation (spoilers: it doesn't). So now on a nightly basis, I have to deal with people talking, clapping, carrying on with nonsense around me while I'm trying to work. These headphones have been my saving grace over the past week. Put full noise cancelling on and some music and I can't hear ANYTHING, it's just...incredible. So if you're out in the open around some really annoying co-workers, and headphones are allowed, 10/10 would recommend. I did have an older pair of Audio-Technica noise cancelling headphones that I used up until now, but those didn't mask everything, ran on a AAA battery I had to constantly replace, and with ANC on, it had this fairly loud audible hiss and felt a bit weird to my ears. I think this has been a general thing with ANC headphones but I've only had these two. These Sony ones, though, world of difference. Doesn't bother my ears at all and you definitely don't hear any sort of hiss like that. It's super good.

Bought these because I've heard the reputation of the noise cancelation of these headphones. Suffice to say, they've blown me away. Took them for a ride during my morning commute and it blocked out so many external noises such as chatter and the subway sound. I love the many options the headphone app provides. You can customize the EQ; you can change the ambient noise and how much sound to let in. The touch controls are easy to use. These are very comfortable headphones. Had them on for hours and it didn't bother me compared to other headphones. I'm happy with my purchase and I highly recommend them if you're looking to get a wireless noise canceling headphones.

I have high expectations of this headphone due to all 5 stars review on different websites. I am satisfied with the purchase for reasons below: 1. Heavy bass (I listen to hip hop a lot) 2. Amazing noise cancelling ( more than enough if you are using for indoors) 3. Quality of the materials (soft and durable) 4. Quality life ( No joke, it lasts for couple days before I need to recharge again. I use it almost 8 hours a day for work) It’s pricey, but you get what you paid for. The treble could be improve, but I definitely enjoy the bass. Conclusion: Good job Sony! Hopefully it can last for a few years

I had WH-1000X and tried it X3 @ store, I was so surprised how they improved the Noise Canceling quality and How lighter they made compare to First model. Bought in Thanksgiving with Great deal and trying them since than, Sound quality is same SONY quality with little bit high tuned with not punchy but smooth Bass. Great upgrade from X is you can EQ them in APP which I can tune with my needs. Also ANC level can be adjusted too in APP which that became handy too. To me I think it is much better than BOSE QC35 mk2 series, maybe NC700 is better but Price is $120 difference with NC700 than I will take SONY that I can trust.

My office is a typical cube farm with people chatting all around me at various times throughout the day while I'm trying to focus. With these headphones in noise cancelling mode (even without music playing) I can finally focus again, unless someone decides to stand literally 3 feet away from me to have a conversation with someone 5 feet away from them. Fortunately that only happens about twice a week. This product brings peace and happiness. Also, it works better and is more comfortable than any others I've tried. It charges fast and the charge lasts for days even if I use it all day long. Absolutely worth the money if you work in an open office floor plan.

I have used beats wireless studio 3 headphone before and was skeptical while purchasing Sony - WH-1000XM3 Wireless Noise Canceling over the ear headphones as it is almost 100 dollars more than beats. But.. this is pure magical and the noise cancellation works seamlessly. The bass, the beats, sound quality everything is top notch about this product. And, the 20 hours (practically 15 plus odd hours) is cool value add. The ear holder is perfectly sitting on my ears and never troubled me even after hours of usage. The only complaint i have is it makes you sweat more while working out around your ear. My recommendation is, just go for this quality product!!
