So I have the M2 and love that one...figured I’d try the M3 after reading reviews and watching online reviews. First, I did experience a minor “cabin pressure” issue with the M3, the same as I had at first use of the M2. Second, the M3 is lighter than the M2, not by a ton, but you can tell when you hold them in opposing hands. The bass is awesome in these! The bass was great in the M2, but it sounds clearer in the M3. The NC seemed a little stronger in the M3. Comfort is great. I don’t get into a bunch of tech specs in reviews because others are better at that and I’m lazy.... I love the M3, just as I loved the M2...is it worth upgrading? Maybe not, but my husband is glad to get the hand me down M2! Also, in my opinion, there is no comparing the Sony and Bose:I did head to head comparisons when I first purchased, and the Sony blew the Bose out of the water with the M2. The M3? Fugettaboutit-the QC35II won’t even come close!

I gave in to all good reviews about these headphones against the Beats studio 3, but it didn't work for me. They are excellent and very stylish headphones, and Sony's sound quality is on the top of music reproduction game. This model sounds better than Beats Studio 3 as well, and looks more classy. They are also lighter and don't clamp your ears to the point that you want to take them off. However, there are some aspects I found not very suitable for me: - when wearing the headphones I was always hearing some kind of windy sound although it wasn't coming from the outside. - when talking to somebody on the phone my own voice was echoing and it was very distracting and weird. - the option to let the ambience noise in is incomprehensible to me. Why would you want it? The whole point of wearing noise cancelling headphones is to hear as less as possible from the outside. - these headphones pick up the voices from the outside really well, even when you choose the noise cancelling mode. They cancel other noises, but the voices of people talking around you and the announcements on the train penetrate your ears no matter what. - the touch controls are great, on the one hand, but, on the other hand, accidental touches or touches in a slightly wrong direction lead to a wrong response. The physical buttons are a bit more reliable. Once again, it is a matter of a personal comfort, and this pair of Sony's is great, but for such a considerable amount of money, I want a 100% fit.

Perfect for late night listening and once paired always paired. The spacial awareness is above average and the bass is superb. The voice use and noise cancelation is ok as well.

I wouldn't consider myself an audiophile by any means, but this is definitely one of the best headphones that I've tried and own. First they sound amazing. It has a pretty full sound, but the highs could be a little brighter. Nothing an EQ on your phone, tablet, laptop, or computer can't fix. They're super comfortable. I can and have worn them all day. It's light and very little pressure felt on my head, but they don't feel like they're going to fall off if I turn/shake my head. The battery life is awesome. However, you can use the provided 3.5mm cable to turn it into a passive headphone, no noise cancellation or touch input on the controls. The noise cancellation is amazing on these and perfect for long flights or drowning out the noises around you while studying/working.

Honestly the best headphones you can get without doing a ton of research for under $500. The'yre plug and play and if you dont want to do a deep dive into audio equipment and just want something with amazing sound quality thats feature rich without spending the next 2 months going down an audio equipment rabbit hole these are the headphones for you. I picked them up as no headache gym headphones and they're fantastic noise canceling is top notch as well. On a side note if you use android theres a pretty substantiated debate that the XM3 audio codec works better where as the XM4 has a better audio codec for iphone. Since the price of the 2 is the same now you can trust this audio nerds review or do a little research if you're debating between the 2

Noise cancelling is so good you dont even notice people around you in large noisy crowds, i dont hear anyone speaking to me unless I want to adjust settings in the app ( I don't) or I just take off the headphones; but not sure if people can hear what you're listening to but at the same time who really cares about that too much? The headphones are comfortable and as you move they adjust to your movements to give better quality? The app that you connect with explains and shows more on this. Oh btw the battery life is insanely good and you probly will never have to worry about running out of battery on those longer trips. The headphones & app display energy levels as well to let you know this too. I believe the headphones are worth the price and do provide quality hearing and noise cancelling.

I've got half a dozen flights behind me with these cans... not sure why I took so long to invest in NC tech. These virtually eliminate the cabin and aircraft noise... and does an admirable job with crying babies and chatty seatmates! Power reserves are good after a 3.5 hour flight - haven't pushed them beyond that yet, but have a trans-Atlantic coming up that will certainly test battery life. I tested the QC35 as well before these: saved a little $ on these, but would have picked them if they sounded better. These Sony's sound better: clearer highs, more defined lows, amazing NC and are very comfortable. Highly recommend!

I'm no expert on sound or headphones, but speaking for the average consumer, these headphones are great in many ways. I not only like the expert sound, but the features as well. I particularly like the swipe features associated with the right headphone which allows you to raise and lower the volume, skip songs and temporarily exit noise cancellation mode. I listen to all types of music, but I love the way this phones handle the deep bass sounds without blowing out your ear drums. I bought the beige color pair and I'm glad I did, I love the unique color. Something different from the always black color. The look and feel is great, very comfortable on your ear for long period of times. Great for air travel. Great quality feel and long battery life. Pricy, but worth every penny.

These headphones have great sound quality and the best sound cancelling out there. I use them on trains and flights and they cut out almost all of the outside sound. They are comfortable and battery life is awesome. This is an awesome buy!

The fit is comfortable, and the bass is deep and full. They are great at noise-cancelling and make it easy to listen to music almost undisturbed. My son has a pair also and says the battery life is also very good.

Have been using this headphone for more than 2 years. Still a great product, reasonable battery life, and decent noice canceling!

I previously had Bose head phones so that's what I can compare the new Sony headphone to. As far as sound the Sony has more robust sound with great bass clarity. I think the Sony's has a more fuller and richer sound that's music to my ears. I, also, like the fact that the Sony's makes you aware when the headphone is off which saves the battery life if accidentally stays which happen with the Bose headphone. The high tech feature of swiping up and down to raise or lower sound takes a minute to get use to, as well as swiping to move tracks forward and backward doesn't work that well but I'm getting use to it. The headphones are very comfortable as I work-out in the gym with on and have no issues even though I think the Bose may be a tad more comfortable during the long run. I'm very satisfied with my purchase.

Best, most comfortable NC over the ear headphones available. Good looking, nice case, excellent sound, long battery life. Only downside is price, which is on the high side, but no more expensive than Bose.

Love these headphones. With that long battery life I never have to charge them like those earbuds. The sound quality is amazing little heavy on the base since his Sony but other than that love how they are sound. Only thing is is they can only connect to one product at a time kind of a bummer have to disconnect and reconnect from my phone to my tablet but other than that I would have to say well worth the investment. I use it as my daily driver for listening to music in the gym on my bike rides and at home and they never wore out I have any scuffs marks or anything on them I would have to say well worth it better than some cheap headphones or earbuds that you can buy.

Sony noise cancelling headphones let you experience music in a peaceful setting. I picked them for comfort because I wear glasses. You do not have to take them off to talk to someone. With a touch of a button on the headphones it turns off to listen to conversation Other feathers are you can change music by tapping head phones. Only down fall I had was phone microphones. When talking on the phone other person had trouble hearing me. Definitely no big deal if you want a true listing experience. Battery has a long life time. Blue tooth range is excellent. Don't let the price fool you well worrh it.

Coming from a Bose QC35... I found the WH1000XM3 to be a great comparable model. For me, Sony has the better sound profile for my liking. Comfortable, excellent sound cancelling, great battery life and lightweight. Comes with an excellent carrying case and accessories for airplane usage. Only con is that this doesn't allow dual connectivity (WH1000XM4 does). It does remember up to 35 connections, you'll just have to select it when trying to connect to it. Overall... if that doesn't matter much to you... save a few bucks and get this one. Thanks.

These are awesome and the best headphones I have ever purchased. They don't get hot, and are comfortable. They will block out the world for you. The battery life is amazing. For what I use it for, music, traveling, late night TV watching, they are fantastic. The one complaint is phone calls, not great at all, very average. But I actually don't use them for phone calls instead I use my galaxy buds + because I can put them in my pocket and take them everywhere, driving, running, biking. So do not get these Sony's for phone calls. If I did not prefer my earbuds anyway for phone calls they would get 4 stars, but for what I use them for they get 5 stars.

The headphones are pretty comfortable to wear. They are on the snug side so if you have an exceptionally large head, these may squeeze too much. For average heads, it is fine and probably works for unusually small heads too. The sound quality is great. The sound is rich and not nearly as sculpted as other. The bass is full without being crazy over amplified. The option to use wired or bluetooth is awesome. Used them on a flight that only have a 3.5mm jack and it wasn't an issue with the supplied cable. The gestures on the right ear are intuitive and you will have them memorized in no time. The headphones also get software updates through the Sony app on your phone.

I work a lot of overtime and during that time, I like to be left alone to do what needs to get done. Unfortunately, people don't seem to understand that and like to come by and chit chat or talk so loud that it's distracting enough for me to be annoyed by it. In come these headphones and I step into another world. When I tried them in the store, I was amazed by how much noise they filtered out but they seem to work even better at work. I don't have to hear any more nonsense and just listen to my music and focus on my work. They also fit great and the battery seems to last a very long time. Great job Sony and thanks for not producing these in China, which actually sealed the deal for me.

I upgraded from the sony xm2 to the 3 and i have yet to regret that decision. The headphones are lighter, more comfortable and to me better sound. I love the extra bass that i can feel this time. Def a pair worth getting.
