It’s still a great product, but…

The regular listener won’t be able to tell the difference between these and the previous XM4. Only thing I don’t like is they went with a thinner top cushion and a cheap organic material for the ear cups which makes it feel more in the 250 dollar range off the get go and not 350-400 dollars. The top cushion will make your head irritated after a while making me have to shift it back and forward. Makes it itchy. They should have kept the width of the XM4’s for the top. Noise isolation is good but I feel like the cheap material is making some sound to come in. This is a stipulation and would have to try the XM4’s again to verify this. Ear cushion could have used a bit more cushion. They are supper soft and push in too much. I’m interested to know more about the XM6 and may return these if they fix some of my preferred things I mentioned otherwise, these will have to do.

Our WH-1000XM5 has a slider that you can use to adjust the length of the headband to get the best fit and for comfortable listening experience.
Note: If you put on the headset without adjusting the slider, the headset may not be positioned properly on your head, resulting in discomfort or a weak noise canceling effect.

Great headphones

A little pricey, but they are ultimately the best on the market so you’re paying to have the best headset. I use and abuse them a lot and they’re in good condition.

Must have if yoi have tinnitus

Multiple piercings approved!

The cups don’t irritate or put pressure on your earrings. I love these, my only complaint is I wish the band had better cushioning. The top of my head gets sore after listening for a couple hours and doesn’t go away for a while.

Please make sure to wear the headset properly. Adjust the length of the slider and orientation of the left and right units so that the earpads fit snugly all around your ears. Better than what she had on her Xmas list

Eight months in, always lets me know how she really loves the headphones and how she really enjoys them and enjoys all the different sound settings. So happy with this purchase. And as she mentions she’s happy I bought them for her instead of the items she had on her Christmas list. She’s 16 years old 15 at the time of purchase.

Great headset but…

My only issue is the build quality, specifically the ear cushions. They feel very cheap and I can already tell by just few uses that they’ll deteriorate really fast. If you’re an avid headphone user I wouldn’t recommend this because of the cushions. You’ll think that for something this expensive Sony will take their time to ensure that the build quality is fantastic .
