some of the best headphones I’ve ever bought. Noise cancellation is amazing especially on flights. The battery life is insane. I use my headphones a lot and only have to charge them. Maybe once a week the ear cuffs are very comfortable, and even when the sliders are broken in from regular use a cup your head very well. Personally use mine while working out or running and they do a fantastic job of staying on my head, never having to adjust them. I never leave the house without them anymore love them so much.

These were my absolute favorite headphones! I loved loved loved how light they were. I never owned headphones before because I hated how much they weighed and if I tilted my head down they would fall but that never happened with these. The sound quality is amazing and the different audio features are very clutch. The battery would last me over a week and I would use them every day for at least 8 hours which was amazing. I've never had issues with it's connection, any time I turned it on it automatically connected. Unfortunately I lost these but I will be purchasing them again because these are the best headphones I've ever owned.

Very nice, comfortable and flexible. You can’t see grease, the bass and sound quality is absolutely amazing. I love that its case also comes with an inside flap to hold your charger, it’s very convenient and I never lose my charger because of it. Charges very fast and the battery lasts minimum of a week. A little pricey but I’d say it’s a worthy purchase in the long run. Look just as brand new as they did a month ago when I purchased them. I’d say the only problem I have is that I prefer to not use noise cancellation, so sometimes I think because of the environment I’m in it will turn on NC by itself even after turning that feature off, otherwise no complaints.

Had this for 2 years, I never have any issues. Physical aspects: pretty light, won’t feel heavy on your head. Sound quality is amazing. You can adjust it (noise cancelling) when you go on walks at night you can turn off noise cancellations (for safety), you’ll find the feature on “scene based listening” on the Sound Connect app. After 2 years it still feels brand new. The battery lasts pretty long and and also charges fast. I highly recommend this over the overpriced fruit brand.

I have wanted headphones over the ear head phones for a long minute, I did my research which ones I liked aesthetically the best, which ones I felt were the best value for my money, which ones had long lasting battery life, which ones had good reviews on tiktok but also reddit threads, I just fell in love with the Sony XM5's I specifically did not want the XM4's because they folded and I had like trauma from the early 2010s when beats made crap headphones that folded and broke easily I'm sure those are good too though. But I get great battery life on these, they fit my head personally really well / comfortable to wear, the sound is amazing, the one downside is they don't like auto pair well with apple devices which they aren't apple headphones but I know people with Bose headphones who don't have autopair sync issues like I do it's just a niche issue if you know you know, also the app is a bit meh and I turned "adaptive sound control" in the app off so fast it was the most annoying feature where it auto turned noise cancelling off to adjust you to ambient sound and kept turning talk to speak on even after having turned it off which would pause my music just an irritating feature. That aside I love the headphones.

Bought a pair of Airpods Max recently and while the sound quality, build quality, and noise cancellation are top notch, the metal used caused uncomfortableness after an hour or so of use. I had to take breaks to give my ears a rest. In sessions of several hours of use my ears would reach the point where I would choose to wait until the next day to use the Maxes again. I gave the XM5 a chance after hearing so much praise for the XM4 and I'm glad I did. They do what the Maxes do without its flaws. IMO the XM5 has no differences in sound quality and noise cancelation from the Max while being lightweight and extremely comfortable - even after hours of use. Throw in an actual carrying case, 10 hour longer battery, and cheaper price and the XM5 is the clear winner. And this is coming from an Apple guy. I ended up returning the Airpods. If I had to note a flaw it would be the XM5's weird quirks when paired with an Apple product. Ex: sometimes when I put them on it randomly opens up the Apple Music app on my Macbook and automatically plays music. Also the inability to be naturally used wirelessly with a PS5 is a bit of a bummer. Sony could learn a thing from Apple about integration.

I was delighted to find the headphones on sale during the holidays, so I indulged myself and bought both the Silver and Black colorways. Design & Portability 4/5 - While most people are purchasing these headphones for the overall sound quality and listening experience, I want to briefly touch on the design qualities that I enjoyed and disliked. Compared to the previous iterations of the Wh-1000x series, this generation does not fold into a more compact size. For my lifestyle. this was not an issue. However, if you travel frequently and would like to store these headphones inside a bag, I can attest to their bulk. An appreciated addition that is included with your headphones is a matching case with an inside compartment for cables and accessories. The silver colorway has an incredible, sleek finish compared to the matte black colorway, which will reflect any fingerprints and smears on its surface. This is a minor qualm though, since a quick wipe down with a non-abrasive cloth will get rid of all the marks. After a few weeks of constant use, I noticed minor indentations in the padding from my glasses. Again, this is a minor issue that is purely cosmetic, but I prefer to keep my devices in relative mint condition incase I need to resell them in the future. Software 5/5 - The gesture control features on the right cup of the headphones offer a responsive user experience. You will need to develop muscle memory for the placement of your finger when playing/pausing the audio. The component app allows you to customize the features based on your preferences. The speak to chat feature recognizes your voice which briefly pauses the audio, although I chose to disable this functionality. In the system settings, you have the ability to customize how much ambient sound can penetrate your headphones. If you are in the Apple ecosystem, these connect and handoff to your devices far better than my own set of airpods. I constantly switch between my MacBook and iPhone, and the software is able to accurately reflect without any kinks or issues with disconnection. Sound Quality 5/5 - Sony did a wonderful job developing these headphones, and the sound quality and noise-cancelling components are a testament to that. Upon your first use, it would be ideal to adjust the EQ setting from the app. I found that every user has a specific preference, and for me, the default EQ setting was too mellow. The ANC is a magical experience, white noise is immediately eliminated and any stray frequencies go unnoticed. You are able to hear some of the quieter frequencies in music that would otherwise be unrecognizable. With previous headphones, I found myself on the higher end of the volume spectrum, but with these headphones, the sound is crisp and full enough to keep the volume at a reasonable 40-50 percent. These are absolutely worth the $400 msp. Whether you're using these for consumption purposes, listening/producing music, or sitting in a zoom class, every feature is geared towards longevity. I have never found a problem with discomfort or having to frequently charge the battery, which I know is a deal-breaker for some consumers. I wear them for up to five hours at a time when I need to immerse myself with my work without needing to recharge. You are furnished with a headphone cable that plugs into a regular jack if you don't want the latency associated with Bluetooth audio encoding. Ultimately, these are comfortable, reliable, and some of the most well-designed wireless audio technology on the market from both a sound quality and design-language perspective. If you are looking for a the best of the best in wireless ANC headphones, then these will check all the boxes.

the mics for phone calls are great & the sound quality is really good, theyre super light it doesnt even feel like theyre on my head, the controls are super accurate and convenient, battery lasts forever, perfect for gym and sweating, the only thing i dont like is how big they look on my small head but still amazing

bought this for work to eliminate noise. anc is really good. notice to less tech savvy people that the headphones has a default feature that it cuts off the music when someone is talking to you so you can hear them. it is a feature though i believe that it should not be on by default, i cannot penalize them for that. also i guess another downside is to turn off that feature, the app is required to be downloaded. for the pros, lighter than a bose qc35. not sure about the new ones. long battery life. comfortable to wear.

This is written from my personal experiences using this pair of silver XM5s that I have been using daily for over a month. These are the best noise-cancelling headphones I have ever used in the market. Here are my reasons... 1. Comfort. I have tried on numerous pairs - the XM3, XM4, QuietComfort 35, Airpods Max - and I have even owned a pair of XM2 before they finally died on me. This one takes the helm because the earcups were spacious for my large ears and the head part did not rub against my head too harsh like the Bose QuietComfort 700. I also liked how the XM5 clamps less than the XM4 (biggest downside imo) while providing a good seal, making them a great travel companion for long-haul flights or travels. I recently boarded a 10 hr flight, and while they do generate some warmth (as with all over-the-ear headphones) I never felt the urge to take them off because of discomfort. 2. Sound. This one is going to polarize some people. Sound profile is awesome, the new drivers that Sony has put in the XM5 generates a slightly different profile than the XM4. It puts more emphasis on the highs while toning down on the lows, so imagine more clarity but less bass on the audio. Of course, you can always the sound with the Sony Headphones app's equalizer. 3. Microphone. I want to be able to take my calls anywhere without people struggling to hear me, whether I am in my bedroom or outside at a cafe. The additional microphones in the XM5 helps isolate a lot of the background noise while focusing on my voice when I go on Zoom calls or call Google Assistant through the headphones. I have not had any issues with my headphones not picking up my voice clearly. Now there are some caveats with the XM5 that are pretty minor. You cannot fold them like you could with the previous Sony XM headphones. The travel case it comes with is larger because you cannot fold the headphones (I normally keep it out or hanging around my neck when on-the-go). The black version is a fingerprint magnet because it has a rubberized finish while the silver version has a matte finish. Finally the earcups get dirty quickly so you might need to have a pack of wet wipes on hand. Despite all of that, the XM5 has been the most fulfilling and satisfying noise-cancelling headphones I have ever used. It works well with Android and Apple devices (unlike the Airpods Max), and you can connect up to 2 devices simultaneously via multi-point. I would happily buy this again in a heartbeat. Long battery life, USB C charging, and fast charging are nice touches too.

I heard a lot about this headphones being the better than the competition and even being best for some categories. So after many reviews and youtube videos I was convinced to buy it, and believe me they werent wrong. These are one of the best noice cancelling headphones I have used, the noice canceliing, the sound quality, the customization, all the features, they are so much better than most of the headphones. My friends tried them and they liked it so much that all of them bought these headphones. Truly one of the best headphones. Talking about the battery life they last me around 2 days or 1 full day on continuous use with noise cancellation on full to 75% volume. They are also super comfy if you put them on correctly and adjust the band correctly. I use them for 7-8 hours minimum and they are still comfy.
