I bought them because I trust Sony and they were on sale. they are probably not the latest technology. I haven't had a chance to use the noise-cancelling feature, and I'm no expert. I use them to watch TV. Based on other reviews I've read (for these and other headphones) I doubt that experienced users will rate them at five stars, but they suit my purposes.

They work well for how I use them, are comfortable, and have a quick, long-lasting charge. They do not fold up, however, and can be awkward to transport. Does not come with a carrying case.

If you feel that the effect of noise canceling is not sufficient, make sure that the noise canceling function is turned on and adjust the headset into a comfortable position. The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices. USB-C charging & work great even when not powered

I like the USB-C charging - I can use my phone chargers or chromebook charger. Sound is better than I thought it would be too. I haven't really even turned them on - I've just used them as wired headphones.

Good - but some issues

The noise-canceling feature works pretty well, but I have fairly sensitive hearing so a lot of noises still come through unless I have the volume of what I am listening to turned up really high. I like the ambient sound feature for when I do need to be aware of what is going on around me, but do not want to bother people with my music. The part that fits over my ears also hurts if I wear them for too long because it is such a snug fit so I would not recommend it to anyone with very large ears and would warn anyone with cartilage piercings that it can cause them to be irritated. I also have not been able to sync them to my laptop at all.
