I still vaguely hear the band, but for the price these do what i need them to do.

The noise canceling function is effective in low frequency ranges such as airplanes, trains, offices, near air-conditioning, and is not as effective for higher frequencies, such as human voices.

The truly wireless are awesome when going for a jog, or at the gym. The on the ear had better sound quality but I just didn’t use them like I wanted to because they were always falling off. So, enter these…. I put these at mid-tier. There are more expensive better ones out there. However, this price point gives a lot of functionality without breaking the bank. Starting with the look of these. They are matte black and a textured plastic. They don’t really stand out like other brands. For me that is perfect. When I first put them on, they felt weird… like I was putting them on backwards, I took them off and confirmed I had read the L and R right. As I used them to wash dishes and clean, I understood the design… they didn’t budge from my head, which was absolutely wonderful. The power button is on the left side and I use it to turn the headphones off, but it is so much faster just to tap my phone to the headphones, and it turns on and connects. The first time I tried it I had to tap twice, (once to turn on the headphones and once to pair it with my phone) but I love this pairing method. The right side has the volume rocker, pause/play/other, and noise cancelling/ambient noise button. The top rocker is the only one with a bump and after I figured that out it became easy to find the other buttons. I do wish the noise cancellation and ambient sound were different buttons, I like to be able to hit the ambient sound button randomly to listen for the kids or listen to the kids… but with these I have to cycle through and it isn’t the fastest at that. But both features work nicely, especially the ambient sound, for me it was almost like not wearing headphones. Usually clattering or background noise can be amplified a little too much, but these did an exceptionally good job evening all the noises out. Now for the actual music part. The sound is quite good for music and videos over Bluetooth, and I could tune out the world very nicely when working around the house. I also happen to have a phone with a hi-fi quad DAC along with a HD music streaming service; so I used the wired portion of the headphones (AUX) and that was awesome, sitting down and cranking out work for my job was never so easy. The household noise just disappeared (though that made it really easy for my wife to walk up behind me with out me being even slightly aware) And the more important part that is that this was the most immersed I’ve felt in music in quite some time. Bonus is no more sore ears either inside from the truly wireless or outside from having my ears clamped down with on the ear headphones. The Aux cable is a rubber one that doesn’t feel like its going to fall apart and it can be plugged in either way, no smaller input on the headphone side. One side is at a right angle and I’m pretty sure that side is supposed to go to the phone but my phone has a dual screen case that lives on the phone and that side didn’t fit at all but I just reversed sides and it works perfectly that way. It charges via USB C and nope, I tried a USB C to USB C cable to my phone and computer and nothing. It is just a charge port as far as I can tell. The microphone works well… but not in all environments (my brother said it sound like he was hearing a waterfall when I turned on the sink when I was talking to him). I have not had an opportunity to try it out in a busy city type environment and it may cancel those sounds out better but finding a busy city right now just is not that easy or potentially that safe. Lastly, I’d talk about the battery life, but I haven’t actually had to recharge them since I got them and first charged them up, so pretty much the battery life is amazing for me. The charging cable is maybe 10” long and there is no charge brick so keep that in mind if you happen to have a shortage of decent USB C cables or charge bricks in your household. Overall, I love these headphones and will continue to use them. In this new work from home environment I am so glad to have these as I don’t have the quietest household and can tune out the world but also let them in when I need to without removing the headphones. Pros: Matte Black (At least I like this) Very light (Plastic, could be a con depending on who you are) Sound quality Extremely comfortable Good Ambient sound mode Noise cancelling Can work without being powered on with Aux cable Fits securely Cons: Plastic (could be interpreted as cheap feeling, but trade off they is light) Slow to go through NC/AMB modes Short charging cord in the box No wall charger

Good over-ears for the price.

Noise cancelling does work, but it's not at the same level as the more expensive and larger Sony WH1000-XM4s, making these a good choice for noise cancelling on a budget. Two really nice things about these headphones are for the physical connectivity - they use USB-C for charging and they come with an analog cable for connecting to things with a headphone jack, like an iPad, older smart phone, portable CD player, computer system, and so on. Do I recommend these? When you see them on sale, yes.
