Very nice sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Let me first say I was very impressed with the construction of this headset. I love the sound quality but the volume level was not really that high so I can't say that I was impressed. I mean I like the way I got a full range of audio I was watching Terminator salvation and they gave me quality theater sound. Just not as high as I wanted to be. I I listened on HDMI as well as analog input. The included optical cable did not fit into the connection properly. Go give it a dance you like it.

Incredible HD Movie audio These are amazing!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These are absolutely amazing. Watching a 4K movie with the headphones was life changing. I’m always missing dialog in movies with my soundbar due to background noise and the fact that I’m getting older LOL. This is like going from the visuals of VHS to Bluray. Total high definition audio with HD video makes for quite an experience. The first movie I watched was Saving Private Ryan in 4K and it was unbelievable in Cinema mode. To hear the tiniest, most subtle sounds is such an incredible thing. It makes movies I’ve seen multiple times brand new again. I can’t wait to attack the rest of my catalog to hear what I had missed. Crazy distance on these. I actually walked outside to grab something out of my car – had to be at least 60 feet away – while listening to a baseball game and it never lost contact. If I tried that with my PC wireless headphones, it would have cut out before I passed my kitchen. Very impressive!! Was very easy to set up. I’m using the HDMI (arc) connection. Actually had no idea what that was for until I hooked these up to it. I was originally thinking I would have to chose between the soundbar and the headphones but nope, they both work at the same time using that connection. Very nice and will lead me to use the headphones a lot more. I can’t recommend these enough. They are amazing!!

Wonderful TV companion
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. These headphones can be connected either to a compatible HDMI connection or optical connection. Charging is super convenient by setting the headphones on the charging stand. You can easily change the sound type from Movie, Game or Voice. The surround sound quality is the best I’ve experienced in headphones. I have them hooked to my xBox X and the gaming and movie experience is top notch. Sounds seem to be coming from every direction and it really gives an advantage in first person shooting games. The unit is lightweight, comfortable and made from quality material.

Don't waste your money
||Posted . Owned for 1 month when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. There is a very small swivel piece near the earpiece. It broke after 2 months, 30 days past the return deadline. Sound is good but materials are very cheaply done.

Wife Loves Them!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. We were looking mostly for a way to allow my wife to listen to her television after everyone else had gone to bed. These are almost overkill for that use. We unboxed them and got all the parts and cables laid out. Probably the biggest decision was which way to hook them into our system. For the TV in the bedroom, the decision was easy and used the aux in for connection. However, once we realized the true capabilities of these headphones we decided to try them on our main TV and connected them using the HDMI (ARC) input which allows the sound to be processed through both the TV and headphones. Wow, what a difference. These really portray an excellent sound stage and surround environment. When watching a chase scene like in one of the "Bourne" movies, these headphones shine and put you at the center of the action. I have a pretty good surround setup but these headphones excelled at making me part of the movie. Although plastic in design, they seem well made and weren't too heavy to cause issues after a two hour movie. Sound for music is good, but obviously higher-end headphones will beat them. The connection/recharging stand is a little light and we had some issues with it initially falling over, but after relocating them to a more stable location we had no further issues. If you are looking for some good headphones to put you into the movie without having to disturb the entire family or limited by your funds for a "Super" surround system, these should be on your short list!

Great wireless headphones w/ surround simulation!!
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Great wireless headphones w/ surround simulation!!. These are very comfortable, and great sounding headphones. Great if you happen to live in an apartment, or are a night owl who like to watch movies. While these, or other headphones that simulate surround sound will never replace true surround speakers, I found that these do a great job at simulating surround if they are fed a good surround source, like a blu-ray. These are also great if you don’t want to add an amp into a smaller room, and still want to be more immersed into the content. Getting everything connected is pretty straight forward. Just plug in play. Just make sure your TV supports HDMI ARC, most tv’s made in the last 8 years or so do. The sound processor also acts as a headphone stand / charger. So when you are done, just make sure you shut the headphones off and place them on the processor to charge away. The processor itself will enter a standby mode when you actually shut the headphones off manually. If your TV does not support ARC, fear not.. As it does take an optical cable that can come from your audio source. Some TVs still have that kind of audio, as does the original PlayStation 4. Of the sound fields you can select from, I found that CINEMA in general sounded the best, even for videogames. If you have a 2.0 stereo source, while used with what Sony is calling their matrix decoder, when set the matrix decoder is set to “ON”, and you have CINEMA, GAME, or SPORTS, it will process the sound using Dolby Pro LogicIIx up to 7.1, faking the surround-back channels. It depends on the content, but I found for certain things it worked pretty well. These headphones support Dolby Digital, Dolby Digital EX, Mult Channel PCM, and also DTS(!!) Overall I think these are really good wireless headphones, if you don’t already have a surround amp, and want to still experience sound immersion from movies, shows and videogames. These are also extremely comfortable headphones!

Out of this world sound
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I felt like I was in a movie theater. The sound that came out of these headphones were absolutely cinema quality. If you want really good sound from your tv but, need to stay quiet, you should check these out. These surround sound headphones features more options than I know what to do with, switches for compression, a matrix switch, and settings for every type of media profiles (cinema, sports, music, etc.). I was impressed with how much the compression switch changed the sound. It added some serious low end to the sound that I really like. I couldn't really tell the difference with matrix on or off but, your ears may be more atuned. You can hook these up using HDMI arc, optical video, or auxiliary cable. I used the optical audio and didn't have any problems. My biggest complaint is that it is difficult to use these with my Sony sound bar. I use my TVs HDMI arc port to connect to my sound bar and then use the sound bar to do all of my HDMI switching. Unfortunately with this setup, I couldn't find a way to get these headphones added to the system and be able to use my sound bar as a switcher. I ended up just using opticy audio from the tv to the headphones. It worked well for using the headphones on TV input but, since everything else runs through the soundbar, I can't use my other inputs. I'm sure there is a way around this but, there isn't any information readily available on how to set this up. I don't think you'll be disappointed if your in the market for tv headphones, these will definitely fit the mold for that if you can deal with the quirks of soundbar integration (if you have one).

Excellent Sound and Quality Construction
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Wow, I am thoroughly enjoying these headphones! The sound is incredible. I am currently using them while watching movies or playing games on a playstation. With Blu-Ray quality visuals and these headphones, you will not be disappointed. The surround is excellent and sound is really nice. I am very happy with the amount of bass they give off and really like the crisp audio. The battery lasted close to 15 hours versus the advertised 17 hours but I am not complaining for that type of time between charges. I have them connected via an optical cable but you can also use HDMI and analog if necessary. There are sound presets including game, theater, sports, etc. but I've been happy with leaving it set to auto up to this point. I definitely recommend them especially if you are looking for a very intimate sound experience in either a movie or while playing games.

Very poor
||Posted . Owned for 3 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I have used headphones for viewing a TV for many years. I'm extremely hard of hearing, and I require blocking outside noise, while amplifying the TV sound. This headset blocks outside noise, buy does NOT amplify the sound of my new Vizio 65" smart TV. I do not recommend this item to anyone.

Not Ready for Prime Time...
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First the good: These wireless headphones are well balanced in terms of weight, very comfortable and produce an amazing & enjoyable sound field experience. The 'either way' position on the stands, built-in charging contact arrangement makes these fool-proof to keep charged & ready to go. Now the bad: Located in a home environment with a typical amount of wireless devices and postioned nowhere near a microwave oven or even close to a router or satellite device - the connection stability of these headphones is terrible. I've tried them connected to an Oppo Bluray player and an Xbox One X and in both arrangements the sound streams breaks up from a basic level of intermittent choppiness to a full-on dropping of audio for up to 5 seconds at a time. There isn't an apparent way to channel select these 'cans' with the flick of a switch and the owners manual is pretty sketch. A very good mechanical design overall, with extended use comfort levels that rival some of the best headphones I have ever used, coupled with excellent fidelity and surround staging ... When they work. And because of this, I can confidently state that I would strongly recommend that anyone - be it friend or family - look elsewhere for a higher end set of wireless headphones. These fundamentally fail at being a reliable wireless product and are a huge disappointment coming from Sony.

All in one headphones for all your media/ audio
|Posted .This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. To start in the box you get the L600 headphones, the stand/ processor, AC adapter, optical audio cable, operating instructions, and a reference guide. All the parts are well protected with lots of styrofoam and protective wrap. The headphones are very light with plush foam on both ear cups as well as the headband. The headband is fully adjustable and I even had room to spare. On all other headphones I had to adjust the headband to the largest setting due to my large head. So these will fit larger heads. The ear pads are very soft and fit over my ears very well. The stand is solid and well made. And the headphones clip into place on the stand for storage and to charge them. The charge takes about 6 hours when its at 0 to get the full 17 estimated hours, but you can also do a quick charge for 20 minutes to get about 2 hours. You can set them on the stand either direction and they will charge so you dont have to worry about the orientation when storing and charging them. The initial set up was easy and quick. Just choose your connection type from HDMI ARC “audio return channel” or optical audio. For my set up I use the optical cable. So I just connected the stand to my TV's optical audio out with the included optical audio cable. It does not come with an HDMI cable so if you choose this option you will need your own. Once everything is wired you then choose the connection type by pressing the input button to cycle through HDMI, optical, or analog. I chose optical and that was it. Very simple and minimal set up. The next step is choosing the sound field for the content or media you are using. The options are cinema, game, sports, voice, and off. Both the headset and the stand have dedicated sound field buttons so you have full control from the headphones also if the stand isnt close by. I powered on the headphones by holding the power button for 2 seconds and had a good audio connection right away. The headphones are very simple to use with only 3 buttons. Power, sound field, and the volume rocker. I prefer this simplicity over other headphones with several buttons you have to learn. Sound wise they sound great. I found that cinema mode works great for music since there isnt a music sound field option. Music sounded perfect. Overall very balanced sound. Game mode sounded awesome with the current games Im playing. Great sound direction, guns, explosions, etc were very powerful with great bass. And movies and TV were very immersive. For anyone that has a hard time hearing voices, or prefers a higher tone you can choose the Voice sound field. This will increase the voices and decrease some of the other sounds if needed. Sony hit the nail on the head with the sound modes. They are perfectly tuned for each mode. The stand/ transmitter supports Dolby digital, DTS, and Dolby pro logic llx. The Sony L600's are a great option for someone wanting to get the privacy, immersion, and all in one option for headphones. No need for separate headphones. Just switch the sound mode and listen on.
