I bought these and hopes to have higher sound quality than the true wireless headphones I own, with noise canceling being a bonus. The fit is pretty good for around the neck; they're more comfortable than the B&W pi. Of course getting a good seal with any in ear headphone is necessary and the Sony's provide some quality ear tips, with many to choose from. Battery life it's pretty good. It's long enough where I didn't really measure it. If I charge it in the morning I can use it all day with the headphones warning low batteries in the evening. The noise-cancelling was okay but not a big necessity for me. However I must say that with the noise canceling on i got quite a bit of distortion when I moved around. It required me to turn it off most of the time. I own the Sony wh 1000xm3 and the noise cancelling is superior. I also own the wf 1000xm3 in ear and they sound better and are better at noise cancelling. Sound quality, it's just okay. It seems that the sound signature is u-shaped. You can equalize it in the app but just can't seem to get that sweet spot. I constantly was turning down the treble that was painful at normal listening volumes. (I must say that I'm spoiled on the Sennheiser true wireless headphones). Micriphone - although I never specifically tested it, people did have difficulty hearing me while using the headphone. I got a lot of "huh" and "what did you say?" If you can put up with the inconvenience of having to carry around a case, I would say that the true wireless option that Sony makes (wf 1000xm3) is a better buy. However, that case is chunky and you can keep these around your neck all day long without having to worry about losing them, and you get a little bit better battery life.

Sony has updated their WI-1000X and I’m not particularly pleased. Probably the noise cancelling has been improved, but I don’t use that feature. What has also changed is the controls: they now live in a small pod on the left earbud cord, and the buttons are very easy to press. This means that I often accidentally pause, turn on NC, or change volume when riding my bike. The seatbelt in my car also tries to call people for me. This was never a problem on the previous version as the controls were on the neck band itself. The silicone band feels like a step down from the old version’s faux leather, but this seems more durable. It’s narrower, so the arms stick out more prominently. My complaints are based on my use and preference, your mileage may vary. Sound is brilliant, that’s what draws me to the higher end Sony offerings, they sound drop dead lovely. And I’d like to reiterate that: Sony has nailed sound quality here, they sound spectacular for this price point. The comfort of their silicone tips is also excellent. Overall, though, I much prefer the previous version. The mic on the control pod seems better, the old version was crap for phone calls since no one could ever hear me.

What I like: very nice sound, easy to use What I don't like: even with the smallest earpiece size, these easily fall out of my ear, especially if I turn my head. The iphone ear pieces (that come standard with the iphone) stay in my ears much better than this unit. Too bad because I otherwise really like them

I did a side by side comparison of these compared to an old pair of Bose QC20 in an airplane and on a train. The Bose are better with low frequency noise cancellation: on a flight, or on a train platform where you can feel the deafening sound of an idling diesel locomotive the Bose really shine. The Sony wi-1000xm2 seem to do a better job with a broader range of frequencies, possibly because the seal of the earbuds is better than the Bose. And the Sony is good enough for me on a plane or on a train or train platform. Sound quality is better on Sony, and the Sony also has less white noise from noise cancelling. The Bose eartips are more comfortable, but it's great that the Sony is wireless. The neckband is very flexible. It coils into a circle, so that the whole thing fits into a sunglasses-size case. It will also fit without case into a shirt or jacket pocket, which makes it far superior for me than the Bose qc30, which I do not own. Although I like these Sonys a lot, I would have expected more advancement in noise cancellation in the four years since I bought the QC20.

Let me start by saying these things sound great! Impressive bass, good treble and midrange, an overall warm sound... but, connection issues make them frustrating to use... I don’t mean connection distance.. that’s fine. They just drop the connection with my iPhone for no reason. I’ve tried resetting them, but that didn’t help.

I like the new version for the cable type used and the improvements to the call quality. I wish it could have been done with the prior unit's design, I'm not a huge fan of the multi function blob that sits right by your face. I feel this tech is a little old at this point.

Best around the neck earbuds I've ever owned. Been rocking these past 5 years or more. I would replace mine with the exact same ones if i ever needed to 05/2025.

Great headphones, but preferred to keep the previous gen as this model has the commands attach to the wire. It might be fine for some people, but definitely a deal breaker for me.

Very good, the cancellation is excellent, the sound is very strong and of high quality ‘the battery is not very good from 6 to 7 hours‘ while the box says 10 hours, but otherwise a very good product!

My day starts and ends with music. I love these particular Sony headphones because they allow me handsfree enjoyment of my music fully on this daily basis. The neck loop design ensures against lose of the device unlike separated ear devices. Predicably and almost like a renewal subscription, whenever the need arises (usually due to inevitable normal wear and tear), I return to Sony products as a secured choice winner every time without any regrets or concerns. Sony, please keep up your leading edge greatness.

These headphones work great. I typically get 2 days of use on a single when noise-canceling and ambient sound features are turned off. Noise-canceling is on by default. Sony should provide a software update to turn these features off allowing users to activate them when needed. I love the fact that you can use the headphones via the included cable even if the battery is dead. It works well when making calls; The sound quality is pretty good but not great. The bass needs to be enhanced. It does not have a vibration feature and the controls are a bit awkward to use.

I have tried countless headphones like galaxy buds plus buds live liberty 2 pro liberty Air 2 jabra 75t to name a few but none sound as good as these in ldac mode on my note 20 ultra clear highs nice bass and class leading noise canceling. the mic for phone calls is great aswell along as u put the earbud the right way. only thing I would improve is battery life its ok but for a headset they can easily add 10 more hours. I bought for 198 on special 300 is just to high.

Bass, mid-range and highs are all well balanced, clear and smooth. Easy to listen and never harsh. The dedicated app, “Headphones Connect” has an EQ with several pre-set levels and also custom EQ settings. The “Adaptive Sound Control” is great. Best noise cancellation. You’ll love these in-ear headphones.

I had the original Sony WI-1000XM and I really did love them, they were great and I had them for a long time. They were used and abused daily, and lasted for at least three years. Unfortunately, the time did come when it needed to be replaced and because I had such a great experience with Sony I would get the newest one 1000XM2. I purchased it back in February, and literally two months later I was back at Best Buy exchanging it under warranty because the left earbud was blown out, and wasn’t producing any sound. I thought I just got dealt a bad hand, and I would try another pair. This one lasted a lot longer, a total of six months before the same exact issue happened. Needless to say, I was livid that something that costs around $300 and was one of Sony’s premium headphones could be so defective and break within two years. I also want to add they don’t get used daily like the other ones I used to abuse. This were just my walking around and occasionally listen to music or take calls headphones. I have absolutely no earthly idea how the left earbud kept disconnecting or not display any sound. What really made me upset was that Sony currently has no method of contacting them for warranty support. You can’t send an email, talk via Live Chat or by calling on the phone. I had to go through Best Buy customer service again. I am actually really appreciative because they have been phenomenal. They’ve exchanged the first one, and now because it’s clearly an issue with their line they’ve taken them back again. I’m so thankful for Best Buy’s customer service. However, please heed my warning and skip these headphones. I’m honestly very upset with the fact both of the ones I have gotten have both failed with in the first year in a span of a few months. Very dissatisfied with Sony right now.

Very convenient to use this. Especially with the Behind Neck in ear headset/headphone, I don’t need to worry to lost it because it is holding on my neck. I am surprise the box has additional / extra 6 pairs of earbuds, I am happy with that since my old headphone had no extra earbuds and easy to be broken. This Sony headphone is worth of it.
