great sound poor connectivity

Maybe I got a defective unit but 8ft should not cause connectivity issues in a $250+ speaker designed for house parties. I cant comment on the chain connection as its the only one I own but if it stays connected to one speaker then I cant imagine being able to walk around a house party freely with your phone.
