Sony phones are incredible I wish they weren't so underappreciated here in the states. I have the one Mark 3 for about 2 years and it held up incredibly the photo and video computation are out of this world and the 21x9 aspect ratio at first was a little weird but I really grew to love it makes one handed use a lot easier and watching movies a delight. Sony was the first to add water and dust proof to their phones back in the day many years later still one of the best I had a lot of close calls with the phone if it wasn't for it's waterproofness I would have lost a long time ago.

So far I am in love with this phone. The smoothness of use. Processing speed. Excellent screen. Best battery life I've ever had in a phone. I get eight hours easy with heavy gaming, streaming. No over heating issues whatsoever for me. Charging is quick with included charger. I'm on TMobile and 5g seems to give me a more stable connection where available but not sure about speed increase yet. I'm coming from Xperia XZ so this was biggest leap phone to phone I've had since going from my first flip phone to smart phone. I'm a Sony fan boy and I love this phone. Those photos were taken in dark room. Shows how filters can brighten significantly. And flower I was playing with zoom which is insane.

One of the last Android phones with zero compromises made. The 4K, 120hz screen looks excellent, though can only reach about half the brightness as the top end Samsung screens. It's not quite bright enough for a sunny day outside, but the resolution and colors look excellent. The stereo speakers sound VERY good for a phone and can get very loud. The boxy metal frame is very sturdy and feels good in the hands. It has already survived several 2+ feet drops unscathed. It is a little slippery in the hands though. The hardware is very quick for basic things like social media and web browsing. The camera's multi-optical zoom feature is nice to have, though photo quality is pretty average compared to other top end phones (iPhone, Pixel, etc), though the standard camera app gives you extremely precise control over the camera settings for those who know how to use that stuff. The biggest complaint I have with this phone is the hardware for notifications. The notification LED, while a great feature that is going away from basically all phone manufacturers, is very dim and can barely be seen from more than 3 feet away. This seems to be a software issue since the LED gets much brighter when charging than it does for things like text message notifications. The vibration motor is also EXTREMELY weak to the point that I will miss text messages when the phone is on my desk 1 foot away from me or in my pocket. Luckily having the notification LED can sort of supplement the problem, but it is a strange issue and one that shouldnt exist on a $1300 phone. Battery life has been shorter than most other phones I've used, usually lasting only about 3-4 hours of screen-on-time. Though this is to be expected when running a 4K, 120hz screen at 80% brightness. The phone also has a nice battery care option that limits the phone from charging past 80 or 90 percent charge to help maintain the battery's lifetime, though only time will tell how much of a difference this really makes. Overall it's been a wonderful phone despite the high price point. Sony has really made a gem.

I replaced my Sony Experia 1 Mk II with this phone. Better battery life and better performance. Almost the identical size. 120hz refresh is great for the display. Love that Sony kept the headphone port and the fingerprint sensor on the power button. I also love the SD card for extra storage. I just swapped it in my new phone and all my pictures and data were there. Only wish there was AT&T 5G support. But AT&T 4G plus is quite fast. New camera has lots more lenses and customizable features.

For the longest time I've been dreaming of the perfect android phone; amazing hardware and smooth software running on stock android. Well here it is, finally, with the Sony Xperia 1 III. An astonishing camera, gorgeous display, wonderful audio quality with 3.5mm jack and LDAC and a lightning fast UI running on near stock android, this is easily the greatest experience I've had with an android device to date.

Great shape and long lasting battery, however the phone temperature could increase while using it for long time. Also sometimes functions could stop suddenly and the screen turns black.

Tires if choosing between Samsung and apple? Go Sony! Multi sim feature is great when traveling internationally. Amazing cameras and Sony pro app giving all the functionality of mirrorless SLR without needing to carry a big camera and multiple lenses (they're built in).

Upgraded two weeks ago from my Samsung S9. So far, this has checked every box I wanted in upgrading. The display is very crisp and uninterrupted by camera notches. The top and bottom have more than acceptable bezles, each hiding speakers for sound. The top includes a selfie cam (ok quality, not that I take many) and ambient light sensor. I do find it to be a bit awkwardly tall, however in landscape mode, I can watch 16:9 content without accidently blocking it. Build quality feels solid, with all buttons feeling good to press. I'm not impressed with placement as I find the volume key more often than the power button (and underlaying fingerprint sensor). There is a toolless sim and sd try, which securely holds both cards if installed. Overall the software experience is light on bloat, coming from a mostly stock Android ROM. I have found the fingerprint to be a bit touchy however. Battery life is very good under normal use, almost lasting a full day. If pushed hard, it will need a quick charge, however the sizeable power brick makes it a short wait. Other things of note, the cameras and associated apps are very impressive. I have left most of my point and shoot adventure in auto and have not been dissatisfied with results. This phone does have wireless charging, however it seems the sensor is in the lower 2/3rds of the phone, causing it to sit lopsided on some wireless charging pads. Overall I would buy this phone again, I think astheticially this meets most of my requirements and the flagship specs have not exposed a sluggish app yet.
- note
This phone DOES work with Verizon 5g networks. I cannot speak for "5g+", but I was able to activate and move service from my S9 without issues.

I wanted to love this phone but in the 3nd it was just too narrow. It was very hard to read webpages because I had to constantly move the page side to side. The features are great and I wanted the headphone jack and sd card ad not many phones have that now. I wound up returning it and went with a 512 S22 Ultra because of the screen size.

Underrated. Not sure what reviewers are smoking on utube. Most of the time utube reviewers are best and making videos and are not the best product evaluators. I have iPhone 13 pro and Sony phone. The video quality is way better on Sony. Much smoother, less jitter, true colors. A big complaint I've seen is comparing photos, and so they claim this phone takes poor focusing photos. They are using it on automode. When using in manual mode this phone camera blows iphone 13 pro out of the water. Not even close. Most utube reviewers are just not that technical or intelligent enough to figure out how to use manual mode. Most ppl nowadays are lazy too.

First thing. This is supposed to be GSM carrier only (T-Mobile and att) but as of now I am on Verizon. It might not matter much today gsm vs cdma, almost everything is on 4 and 5g now. I am going to switch to T-Mobile but, maybe I didn’t need to.
Like iPhones, this needs a case. Far to slippery and fragile on its own. I have found only one non glass screen protector so far, made by rinogear.
The phone is definitely high quality. It’s a bit rare and exotic also. You won’t find this at the local wireless store. Everything is the best quality as it should be for the price.
