Customers commend the Xperia 1 V 256GB 5G (Unlocked) for its exceptional camera quality, particularly its realistic video features and impressive build quality. Positive feedback also highlights the inclusion of a headphone jack, long battery life, and generally good performance. Great phone
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. So far so good. This was a replacement of my daily Xperia 1ii, which is still an amazing phone. It doesn't feel too different to be honest (even after 3 years), but definitely a bit faster and the key is the camera. Haven't found any problems and quality of the photos and videos are great. The price should definitely be around 1k, no more. Would love to have more Sony merch as part of package for the price, but overall happy as a loyal sonyboy :)

So close
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Have no problem with the phone itself. Calls are great and speed is fine. Camera is cool. Not really many customization options for phone. Basic Google customization. No real theme options like HTC, LG, and Samsung had or has. The main thing that made me give it 3 stars besides the lack of customization is the fact that there is no Bravia core offered in America which I was looking forward to due to the 4k capabilities. Not sure why but such a bummer. Some kind of battery pass through would have been great too. It would be nice to use the phone plugged in without having to worry about harming the battery. At least with gaming. Could not recommend at this price point.

Absolutely loved this phone until the last couple weeks. Where it developed and issue with Bluetooth but only specific to my car worked well every other time. Cameras are great. Camera Great, Other Features Lacking
||Posted . Owned for 1 year when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I purchased this device expecting more than just its highly-rated camera, especially considering its premium price tag. While the camera does live up to the hype, I'm significantly disappointed with other aspects that detract from the overall experience. Specifically, my US version lacks eSIM support and the ability to set up passkeys locally—features readily available on other Android devices, even those in the same or lower price range. This omission is particularly frustrating given the cost of this device. Furthermore, the automatic camera settings are far too basic and may not be suitable for users who aren't already familiar with advanced camera features. For the price, this device simply doesn't deliver the expected level of performance and features compared to other devices currently on the market.

Great technology, poor execution.
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I love Sony products but this phone needs lots of improvements. It comes with excellent cameras, amazing screen and almost perfect form factor. Unfortunately, the OS software is too basic, no real customization available, lack of wi-fi calling or at least I could not make it work, odd placement for front camera, no pc interface software and speakers not loud enough. Two good and rare features that are very useful are the micro SD expansion bay and headset jack. I’ll wait for the Xperia Pro II to give Sony a try again.

AMAZING Build Quality!
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. This phone is amazing! Great features, great build quality! After having this for a couple of months I accidently put it in the washer (clothes washer) and didn't realize for about 30 mins. After retrieving it and letting it dry in some rice for a day, it is COMPLETELY fine! There's absolutely NOTHING wrong with! I still can't believe it survived being submerged in water for 30+ mins! For the build quality alone, I highly recommend this phone!

Best Sony Xperia smartphone but....
||Posted . Owned for 8 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review. It's the best Sony Xperia smartphone but needs to compete with other companies' strategies like more years of Android support and more user friendly camera UI, the manual mode photography/ videography are great additions but it'll be great if they improve on auto/ basic mode. If it is then this smartphone to be called smarter enough and hopefully for a wider production in the future like being in the carriers to be available.

Beauty without brains
||Posted . Owned for 5 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Sadly buggy Android 14 upgrade has tarnished otherwise great phone with exceptional hardware. Android 14 update from Oct '23 brought numerous serious bugs. Basic functionality like using phone hands-free in a car via Bluetooth no longer works, and Sonly seems to be unable to fix this and other issues. It is well known that Sony has very short support window for their Android devices meaning down the road you would be possibly left behind with unusable device. Sony support isn't helpful, and their US warranty center is ran by a 3rd party. Such a missed opportunity.

Awesome Phone
||Posted . Owned for 1 week when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.First Sony phone and I am impressed. The phone runs fast and has overall high quality feel to it. If you use your phone camera to do any amount of actual photography or video, then you will truly appreciate the built-in software.

Sony is close, but still have some work to do.
||Posted . Owned for 2 weeks when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.I feel that Sony has potential to really be competitive in the mobile market but the mk V shows they are headed in the right direction. I wanted to keep this phone but the 6.5in screen is so awkward. Its not wide its just super long. I feel like i was holding a galaxy z flip but think about adding 2 more inches to it, thats what it feels like holding the mk V. Not only that, but the version of andriod sony chose is soooo bare bones its like stepping back a decade when andriod was just starting to gain attention. I was very dissapointed with the lack of intergation and user experince you got from the version of sony chose not to mention, after updating to the latest verson of andriod, NOTHING improved. You just get the same basic features and navigation through apps and the system settings, you dont have the creative control you get from what Google, Samsung, or OnePlus does with andriod. You can really tell Sony didnt put much development or interest behind the user experince when it came running Andriod, they legit just threw the most basic bare bones features of andriod and called it a day. For 15000$ you shouldnt have that experinece with the user interface, that to me is the number 1 most dissapointing fact about this phone. The 4k OLED display is GORGEOUS, the fact they kept the headphone jack and allow you to continue to expand storage is perfect, but the battery doesnt last long even if you arent using the phone for long periods of use throughout the day. The camera setup on the phone is insane, better than iwhat i would say than any permium phone on the market. Yes, i said it idc what apple or samsung fan boys have to say about that. If Sony would of done womething ti improve the user interface and ecpernece with andriod, expand the screen by almost an inch and omptimze the software or change the battery to improve overall battery life, apple and samsung would be in VERY big trouble. Sony's camera setup is so interesting, creative, advanced, and gives the user that enthusiastic feeling when using the camera setup sony did for this phone that if they made the changes i just mentioned, i think the xperia would truly make a ground breaking impact to the mobile market.

Every time there's an update, something goes wrong
||Posted . Owned for 10 months when reviewed. This reviewer received promo considerations or sweepstakes entry for writing a review.Having owned this phone for 10 months now, I can make a fair assessment. I'm usually a Samsung consumer, I've had every note since the second one, and haven't upgraded to the newer S Ultra models as having a memory card slot was a deal breaker for me. That's why I opted for this Sony Xperia (plus that headphone jack is a nice bonus) and even though I got it on sale at the time, $1200 for a phone that isn't reliable is NOT WORTH IT! I will never stray from Samsung, ever again. Most shopping apps I use are buggy (Amazon, Nordstrom, Bloomingdales, Gilt, RueLala, Off5th, Bath & Body Works, Target, etc) and will randomly shut down, without warning. Sometimes I can't get it to restart even after the 2nd try so I have to restart my entire phone. Whenever there is an update, I couldn't make or send calls, but I can send and receive texts. It's not my network (AT&T), or my SIM card. There have been similar problems in several forums with this inability to make and receive calls after a system update, especially on Reddit. I'm pregnant and am caring for a newborn so if I have to reach my husband or mother, I won't be able to. This is so frustrating and completely unacceptable for such a high end brand like Sony. I used to be able to just restart the phone and everything will be okay but then I started experiencing the problem again, this time without there being an update. I've factory reset the phone several times and this is super annoying because that hasn't solved the problem. Sony is good for TVs, that's about it.
